    Hi all,Is it possible to create scenery structures in gmax that you can actually land on? I have only been able to create structures that you can either A: crash into, no matter how delicately you touch down, or B: go straight through as though they aren't there.I ask because I would like to be able to create bridges, and similar structures that you can land on.Cheers,Sean.

    Hi!Is there a solution to eliminate the problem of objects disappearing behind a transparency when it is not fully transparent? I have designed a fence in gmax using a plane, with the opacity level not set to fully transparent, in order to reduce shimmer. But unfortunately, when buildings and aircraft are viewed through the fence, they simply disappear.I have also noticed in other sceneries that other people have used this system, or something similar, and it works. I have tried with all file formats (dxt1 dxt3 and normal bmp) but the objects only become visible when the fence transparency is set to 0, i.e. fully transparent.Any suggestions, please?Thanks,Daniel

    What layer must a road be set at in Airport 2.6 in order for it to show over a runway in FS2002 ? Or is it not possible ? I'm trying to use a road ( set at a width of 1 foot ) as a centerline for my taxiways. I'm using a custom texture for the road. If I set the road layer to about 8-12, it appears on the taxiway, but not on the runway. I've tried numerous higher layer settings for the road between 24 - 80, but then the road doesn't appear over the taxiway or the runway. My taxiways are created from polygons with a setting of 8.

    Does any one know the relationship between the x y coordinates displayed by the Lizard Tech MrSid GeoViewer program and Latitude and Longitude?For example, when over the airport DOQQ (Digital Ortho Quarter Quad) aerial photo that I am interested in, MrSID (the program) displays x = 251294 y=262955 in meters.I know that the coordinates of the airport are about 46 31.5 N and 114 03.1 W. Further, from a different program, I know that the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) coordinates for this airport in Zone 11 are approximately Lat = 726122 meters, Long 5156605 meters.So if you know 251294 relates to approx. 46 31.5 or 726122, I would appreciate your response.     In Annotation properties, it is possible to choose a Building texture.When i choose another way than "default" (blda2.bmp...etc), i can't get any building in my scenery. Why?Page of autogen SDK doc seems to be clear:"Building TextureUse the Building Texture list to select the bitmap that will be used to texture autogen buildings. You can modify the default texture or create new autogen building textures.     Hello there,I really need help as I am sucked with transparencies issues.I get some issues with DXT3 transparent textures which makes some objects shown behind to disepear as well as even part of the same object shown through the transparencie to not beeing displayed as you can see on the attached image.For information, all the trees shown here are in the same BGL. I give that precision as far as I noticed that sometime it looks like that priority orders are linked with different BGLS usage.Who can at least give me an indication about where I can find an explantation.     Hi all. I have a question about exclude. I use Airport for my scenery making. I have always built on either empty ground or added to an existing airport. I found a great little airport, but as usual, it has the MS office buildings and strange sized, unrealistic hangers all over the place. I wanted to try an exclude. (first time...be gentle!) I went to the exclude area which is click and drag, but when the options come up on what to exclude, I am given a choice of Scenery and Runways. My question is, how can I remove the buildings only and leave the existing runways? I know I can put down new, but I want to know if there is a way to just dump the buildings and retain the …

    Hi I am not capable of making this just learning. but just north of SF is a town called Sausalito what makes it important is it has a seaplane base microsoft has it listed {Commodore: 22CA Ca} and you can start there. But there is nothing there, the base is just South of the bridge across what is called Richardson Bay there are good arial views at http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com/default.asp and I have some photo's of the commodore op. building and a DHC2 Beaver of their's on their ramp. Commodore flys tours of S.F. Bay. and a local news program park a Heilo there.

    hello,i've designed a couple of heliports using the following procedure:1. created the base in eod and exported to api.2. placed a flatten area directly below the api in airport2.63. created an invisible runway surface area over the api with the correct altitudethis works fine, except that if i fly to the pad from a location greater than 20 or so miles in distance, the ground level of the pad sinks about 2 feet lower and i end up sitting with the wheels "stuck in tarmac" syndrome.any idea why this is happening and is there a work around other than reloading the scenerey library when i get close?adrian cholmndeley

I tried some but can't find any real differnce between the various combinations !     Hello all,Maybe this is a bit off topic but I really need to get this cleared up and this is the best forum to do so in the fastest time! :-)Ok, the format FS2002 displays your LAT/LON coordinates is as follows:N18 26.08W66 59.23But, in tools such as Terrabuilder, one needs to enter the coordinates as DD:MM:SSHow would I convert the coordinates above into the DD:MM:SS FORMAT? This is driving me nuts! Thanks in advance!Also, I once read a long time ago that one could add an entry into the FS2002.CFG file, which switched FS2002 into displaying a more complete LAT/LON and/or in DECIMALS...     I've started to make London Gatwick control tower. The tower itself will be fully detailed, with every dimention correct and with animated parts.I only started learning Gmax properly yesterday, and this is my third creation after a church i had built.I require help in the following fields:* How do you make all selected objects into one?* How do you create a see though texture -ie. looking through windows?* If i select lots of individual objects (ie. all selected) how do i change the width, height, length?I've tried using squash, and different scales, but it doesn't really sort out the issue.     Hi,I would like to make some disperse comments on the workings of the "MS SDK Resample Tools" to generate Custom Terrain.1) the first comment is that a normal 256-color bitmap also works as a photo-tile. The "alpha-color" appears as water. I tried non-mipped 8-bit bitmaps but FS creates (and shows) the MIPS. I now realise I need to become competent with Landclass to improve the overall effect of ground textures. Where and how should a beginner start ?
