Hi Chaps!Finally reached the stage of adding lights to my scenery (I may be slow, but I'm getting there!) I wanted to turn the lights off during the day, so after searching the forum I found the relevent info on what bit of code I need to edit. I've done that, and I now have 2 files scenery.asm and scenery_0.asm(the edited one), in the same folder I've placed BGLC.exe (the one from the effects SDK)... my question is, How do I recompile both .asm files to a single .bgl? I've dragged the modified .asm file over the BGLC.exe and a .bgl has been produced, but the scenery doesn't show up, so I'm guessing that I need the info in the other file as well (position info?). Hi,I noticed a new issue in my scenery and I was very surprised that I did not notice it before. I have traced for my scenery Centerline and Sideline taxiways markings (like those in FS2002) using the plugin in Architect2002 (compiled with FreeSc) however I noticed that the Autogen is excluded at a wide range around the airfield. I started disabling objects and recompile and reload FS sceenry until I found that the taxilines are the cause. Actually they are traced using 1 single refpoint and in the program I just use Breaks to take the line to somewhere else. Therefore all my airport is covered with 1 centerline taxiway object and 1 sideline taxiways object. Can it be the…

Hi,I'm pretty profficient at designing scenery and scenery objects with FSDS 1.6. I've recently upgraded to 2.11 and found that only compiles APIs when there is no reflection assigned to textures. Otherwise, it outputs a totally valid API that works OK on the simulator.As soon as I set special flag "Reflect" to a texture in the "Texture list" box, the API won't compile. Although a dialog with "Success" message appears, nothing is generated. I was thinking the reflections are possible only on aircraft models that one export as MDL :-( ? Is this correct?--Daniel R. Hi,I think we allready discussed this matter few months ago but I can't find the post. Anyway, I have the following situation. I have three landclass.raw files to cover whole Slovenia and I would like to combinte them into one inf file so I will get oe BGL for lanclass. How this inf file should look? I also assume, since waterclass is similar to landclass, that I can also include waterclass data also in the same bgl (and same inf). Hi, FSSC is also a great tool when it comes to drawing the Taxilines and other great features, but I can't make a line appear, not even white, I tried also to use a texture, but the line does not appear, any tip on that?

Hi all,I have created a new scenery of my home village with Fs scenery creator.All went fine icluding adding tower freq and parking locations with AFCAD.The scenery showed up in FS2002 and also in FSnav. When I try to plan a flight from this airport in FS2002,ATC uses the tower of the nearby airport.Also if this airport is the destination in a flightplan I'm able to hear ATC gives clearance to that airport,but nothing happens when I approach the airport.Can anyone please help.Kind regards Guno

Okay, I know this has been covered, but I'd like to hear it once more in order to get it into my thick skull. If I create a series of custom VTP polys displaying named textures (in this case a street map), is there any way to create autogen bldgs and vegetation for this area? I think I read Dick's advice recently that it wasn't possible, but I want to triple-check so I don't drive myself insane trying.If the answer to above is an unqualified "no", is it true that I can't have my nice LWM masks and custom shorelines show up over the top of custom photoreal ground textures built using the resample method?Thanks for indulging me.

Hi All,I got tired of looking at the default KCLT (no Concourse E) airport and decided to try my hand at basic scenerey design. I decided to basically build the airport from scratch as a learning lesson in Airport for Windows. My question is about magenetic deviation.In AirNav it says the mag dev is 7W but in Airport it is 6W. What sort of problems will I run into (if any) if I change the mag dev to 7W.Thanks in advance,Mark

Hello all,I did a quick search for this but nothing came up.Just staring out in GMAX (and loving it) and I'm modelling my home and surrounding area to go into Flight Simulator. Do you guys have any recommended numbers for poly counts for this sort of thing? Or distance to become visible? I don't want to put all this work into it only to bog down framerates.Thanks!Kenneth

helloI used FSDS1 to create some trucks to use in dynamic ground scenery. I used the Raw BGL output option, used the Dynkit program to make a library, made a path in FS and then used FSDyn to put it all together. The problem is that the object doesn't show up. I tried the same steps with an old FS98 plane, and that worked fine. Am I doing something wrong with FSDS? When I import the shape into DynKit, I get a message saying "Unknown SDL opcode encountered..." Does anyone know how I can fix this?ThanksSergs

G'day all, I've created a bridge in GMax which I'd like to convert to an API.I've read "Gmax to API" tutorial by Dave Ferenkes but there seems to be some problems after exporting from Gmax. The tutorial says that in Fsregen "click on "Library Compiler" At the top is "New Object Details" and to the left is is the button you need to click for the path..." OK it's not to the left but there is a button to the right which I've clicked on. It next says that "once clicked you should see 2 files, your object name and your object name_0 - click on the file without the _0 at the end" I just don't see this coming up anywhere. I get an open file dialogue which starts off at my deskt…

Hi All,I am working with AFCAD and FS2K2 on two monitors. I was wondering if there is a way to prevent FS2K2 from minimizng when I click on AFCAD on the 2nd monitor. This is becoming a pain as I have to "undock" say the ATC window, move it to the 2nd monitor to get the mouse to go over to the AFCAD window. Then when I click on the AFCAD monitor, FS2K2 minimizes.I'd like to find a way to keep both windows (monitors) active with the ability to slide the mouse from one monitor to the other without consistantly undocking a window or having FS2K2 minimizing.The PAUSE_ON_LOST_FOCUS=0 does not help in this situation.Anyone know of how I can achieve this?Thanks Bill

Hi everyone,I am designing some very detailed 3D vehicle models for FS2002 scenery. The original plan was to make them have 50% transparent windows, and a very basic dark interior with the main contours to be visible from outside. To make the windows transparent I used DXT3 format textures with alpha channel, where the alpha controls transparency instead of reflection. Upon texturing one side of the vehicle, I bumped into the first sign of a problem: the other side was not visible although the polygons that generate the other side were duplicated previously to face 'inside'. What is the "standard" spacing used for blue taxiway lights? Maybe there isn't one, and it could depend on the airport. While we're at it, how about the green centre line lights?As always, I apreciate your help.- Martin

I need some help in several areas. I have my photo area and still coloring it. Started autogen and find all ok right now except off the runway ends.I have used 2 runways on top of each other for the blacktop boarder. I have tried it with and without the lower black runway and no change effect on the autogen. Default had autogen closer to them.My ground/grass polygon is 1 poly. I have 5 small excludes 3 for the runways and 2 for the default terminal right now.Lastly, I have tried countless times to get the light effect on gmax lights on the ground and beam. Hi, what would give better performance when texturing objects in gmax:doing a small texture, say 64x64 and tiling it over the object? (if its done properly, the object can look very good) or do the texturing for the full object with bigger bitmaps.I have looked at MS default textures, it seems that they make use of tiling in the autogen and in the big terminal buildings, but not for other objects in the scenery (like the gates of KLAX)if I repeat a texuture of 64x64 10 times... I would end up with an object with a texture of 64x640, the same quality in this case could be achieved with a full texture of say 128x256.What would give better performance? it seems that for ter…

Hi 1) if I use in the image (you see enclosure) "poly whit shore" ground2k gives me error (621) lake/curve: a curve crosses itself. If I use "Line/lakeshore" not me from some error. If I use "Coastline" not me from error but if "Land on the right" the program is activated it jams. 2) I don't succeed in any way in making to appear downward the earth. Have I also tried to rotate the image so that to have to the right the earth but doesn't Ground2k in this case accept the coordinates anymore (because the image is vertical??). Some suggestion???
