    HiAs you all might have seen and read my previous posting concerning some sort of "scaling" problem, i've found out what had actually caused the object to be displayed as it did.When making a very detailed object, just like the one I was making, i've noticed that when it comes to exporting it, Gmax can only cope with files of a limited polygon number. As it was in my case, exporting an object that has a polygon number OVER that limit, causes the exported BGL file to become corrupt or dodgy.I was able to sort out this problem, by grouping separate parts of the object and then exporting them, one by one, as different file names - that way you can have your object being disp…

    My question is regarding turning off lights on my set of floodlights i created using gmax so their off during the day.I'm aware that you must edit the scasm code and checked on the forum but doesnt seem to help me too much. If anybody has any information as to where i might find a tutorial or some sort as to edit the scasm code or hints that might help me would be greatly appriciated.

    I must of done it somehow but beats me how I did it but my Empire State building is missing both its day and night textures along with the Met life building and a few others in NY.I've check for the textures in the NY cities texture folder and they're all there. Tried replacing the entire NY folder from a backed up original but that didn't work. Also shut of all of my scenery add on's but that did nothing either.Anyone have any ideas?

    HiI've been having a few problems with a building i've created in Gmax, being displayed properly in FS, I hope one of you out there can tell me how to solve this issue:I've created a building made of many shapes and parts, i've grouped them together, so all the objects are now as one.I then export this building into FS at set co-ordinates, and when loading it in FS, the building changes it's shape into many forms ie. a section of the building transforms into a very long object covering half the airport, other objects doing similar things on a smaller scale, and parts of the object becoming invisible.I'm wondering if this is down to a scaling problem.     I have decided to work on some scenery for Piper Memorial airportin Lock Haven PA. In doing some research it has been really hard to come by photos of this airport. If anyone has anything usuable or some decent links it would be appreciated. The second problem is Microsofts crappy placement of roads and rivers, they got it all wrong here.     Hi guys, learning all the timeIn the picture below, a clip from DXTBmp, the Transparent preview still shows the Background colour of 0,0,0.Is there any way of avoiding this effect?I used a mask saved to alpha in Tga format, this operation is a little complicated, because I am Using 'BmpCrop', as my textures are being used in a 'Texture Grid' The mask was created using 'Source Opacity' I have tried DXT1 and DXT3, although I guess DXT3(A) is the type I would need to use, given I need a varied level of transparency.I am just trying to create an overspray effect in the edge of the transparencyHope someone can sort me out!!! i'll be grateful...RegardsDave

    I am planning to make maps using TerraScene, 1x1 Deg Long/Lat. I will use preset solid colors to define land-use land-coverage. What do I need to do other than define area coverage for Ground2K? I now have in excess ov 6 GB of custom texture of my state, bur I want FS2K2 texture and autogen. Running a 1.4 GHz 3-256 MB SDRAM cards and Gforce 2MX400 AGP it takes quite a lot of time to load custom textures, now numbering into the millions of BMP files. I realy enjoy making scenery but I am sure their is a way to make things much smoother and faster.   10. seems like this must be impossible, but I want to check with the forum. I've created a terrain of 54 LOD13 custom terrain textures using resample.exe. I have begun experimenting with VTP polygons. My first thought was to create a vtp1 polygon for tarmac, on the assumption that I could make it show "over" the custom imagry. No luck. I've tried some limited experiments, tried three polygons at different layers, layers 1, 3, and 7. None would display over the phototerrain.when I removed the custom phototerrain textures the polygon on layer 7 was displayed, but setting the layer at 1 or 3 made them not appear at all.is this known behaviour?     Can anyone give me a rundown on the default FS BGL file prefixes? These areABP, FLT, HYL, HYP, PKP, RDL and STL. Example being HYP540234.BGL..I believe the HYP files define the coastlines and ABP files are the airfieldgrass areas.     Hi allI apologise for requiring assistance with this matter and have searched this forumI have sucessfully created Transparent bitmaps using DXT1 and DXT3 using a mask saved to a alpha channel and these turn out fine, but contain either Transparent or non Transparent detail.What do I have to do, other than pull my hair out, to create a semi-transparent imageI have tried 256*256 (256 col's) image with and without a 0,0,0 background and saved as a *.tga file with a mask saved to alpha, I have just run out of ideas!!!!     HiI'm trying to use a set of lights to be placed onto an apron lighting system as scenery. I'm using Gmax, and i'm assigning "Light_Nav" to each of the lights. I've noticed that these lights tend to make a group of lights MASSIVE! ie. getting bigger as you zoom out or move away.I've just seen that on some FSDS or Gmax aircraft for Fs2002, the a/c's nav lights stay the correct size all the time, and don't produce a "balloon" effect.Can i use a different type of light in gmax scenery other than the "light_nav" that will keep lights at the same constant size instead of creating a balloon effect, so just like keeping them like an a/c nav light??E.g. compare the IFDG 757 (ball…

    Hi all, I have been reading through this forum which as always is a great help - usually due to the sensible responses from arno. Managed to get an animatino working in gmax - won't say what it is yet hehe.Anyway, because I'm still getting to grips with gmax, I'm wondering if there is a way to achieve the same thing using FSDS2.It has built in support for keyframe animation so I tried making a rotating box to start with by setting the necessary key frames etc and then naming it tick18_box.Now the problem is it doesn't move...has anyone out there managed to achieve tick18 animation using FSDS?     Hi all,During beta testing an upcoming scenery of mine one out of 25 testers had constant FS crashes when using my VTP2 polygon bgl addition that I've created with Ground2k containing several simple polygons. The crash message of FS shows an error in the g2d.dll which is one of the main modules of FS2002.I've split the bgl up into several small ones with just one polygon per file and sent them to the tester - but to no avail. Each of these files crashed so it doesn't seem to be the combination of polygons in one file. 24 testers run it without any problems.     Hi everyone,I ve been trying to make a floodlight pole with four lights on top with FSDS2 and using the Light_Land function. In a basic test of all the different types of lights, they all displayed correctly except the wierd effect that the light beam of landing lights and taxi lights points in the opposite direction to the poloy surface normal.When trying to make my light pole i find that whatever way i flip my poly, i can never get the beam to point down. It always points up towards the sky! Is this just an FS bug?Thanks, Mark

    I would like to run Ground2K on a machine where FS2K2 is not installed (and cannot be for various reasons). Ground2K starts if I make an empty FS2002 folder, I can define the project and get the map on screen, but the program crashes when I try to make a new line or a new poly. The error message probably says that a file is not found (my french knowledge is non-existing).Question: What files do Ground2K need to run (what is the minimum set of files that I should copy to this computer)?BamceEFHN

    Does anyone know if there is a way to make a global shift to the data in the streams layer? Reason I ask is it appears to me that all streams (at least in the part of Alaska I amusing with Eddie Dennys mesh) are shifted by a factor from where they should be. It's almost like the two were done with different geographical projections causing a mis-alignment.
