    After ages trying to get my ED wirless glasses working, finally i've got them to work, and they are great!I found that using nVidia's newer drivers gave me loads of problems with full screen mode and stuff like that, so i installed the older (but supposedly better with FS?) 29.42 drivers and all is fine nowExcept one thing..Aircraft, VC's, sky, land, sea, runways, taxiways, taxiway markings and autogen all display correctly, but old style polys, old style 3D objects, Gmax 3d objects, 3D clouds and Gmax lights (eg. It's an ambitious little GIS program that allows an amazing variety of GIS format imports.. and even can be used to reproject data.It's native format is it's '.dra' format... but it will accept bmps, drgs, dlgs, shps, tiger, dxf, ....... and MANY more.     Hi all.It appears we may have 2 versions of BGLC 8.0There is a version that came with the Special Effects SDK... date modified as :4/1/2002This version is supected to NOT allow placement of effects in the southern hemishpere.     I have been searching the forum here, but haven't been able to locate anything on this, but I need to remove the flatten from an airport. I know I could remove the bgl file that contains the flatten for this area (or edit it), but I may distribute the final product (if it turns out the way I want that is), and I don't want to have to make any irreversible modifications to the end users install to get it working.Thanks,Bruce

    Hi,I ground to a halt with my scenery project because of the problem with coastline elevations, and concentrated on one of my other hobbies (astronomy) for a few weeks until I got some enthusiasm back.When I looked at the problem again, I thought I would try and edit the file with default coastlines, and then recompile it.My project covers four lod 8 areas, and the part I am interested in, is an island centred in them.I found the data I needed to edit in one of the lod 8 areas, and deleted the data for the other three, just so I could see what happened.I was pleasantly surprised with the result, the only problem was one small area (lod 13?), which was miles high (I edite…

    Hi all , I have just released my fs2002 SW UK scenery for the Visual flight VFR photo scenery and have a big problem. With the scenery installed it causes the terraine textures to blurr to the lowest resolution. this problem has been reported by a number of users and is intermittent i.e. it doesnt happen all the time, it can somtimes be cured by flipping from full screen to windowed and back a few times but not always. there is a discussion here with more details on the problem http://www.visualflight.co.uk/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=387.     Ok.. my question is this: I'm using install maker to create an autoinstaller. (Yes, yes.. I know, hehe).     During the recent tests about the autogen exclusion we bumped into the fact the v2 value of the RefPoint isn't the radius of a circle in which the object should fit, but more the size of a square centered at the same point.So this thread is meant to take that discussion out of the autogen exclusion thread and have a look at other effects that might influence the v2. For example the scale of the RefPoint.     Does anybody know if there is a way to get FSNavigator to show the correct (new) runway designators? The ones I'm concerned with are the newly designated 18C/36C and 18L/36L runways (the other runways are OK). I changed the designators in AFCAD but FSNAV still shows the 'old' ones. I found the BGL file with the information which needs to be changed (F5400051.bgl). I can change the required info using BGLanalyze, but SCASM won't recompile it (too many errors). I know it's nothing I've done as SCASM (latest version d/l from the SCASM site) won't even recompile a disassembled version of the file which came fresh off the installation disks!Thanks.Keith....Wherever you go, the…

    Hi Everyone,Does anyone know how to control the diameter of a flat area? I am putting together a lodge and a couple of outlaying cabins on a gentle downward slope. I want to put the lodge at the top of the "Hill", with the cabins situated lower on the slope towards the lake front. I am trying for a terraced effect with the building inside their own tightly defined flat area. Right now, if I make a flat area, it makes the entire hill I'm building on flat.     I have been using a commercial scenery package developed by an individual. I have noticed that at some airfields specific textures and objects disappear, but this seems to be limited to only a very small number of objects and it is always the same objects. The objects may or may not appear when the sim is started, however if I crash an aircraft on restarting at the ssame location very often the object has disappeared. All other objects seem to be constant in their behaviour.Doing some investigation I discovered that the textures (.bmp) applied to these objects are reported by imagetool.exe to have corrupt size parameters.     Hi - bit of a newbie type questionI am designing some buildings in gmax using 512x512 bmp per main building(converted to DXT1).Once a number of buildings are placed, will using 512x512 bitmaps hinder performance compared to, say 256x256? Or in todays era of GHz machines and 512M+ memory does it matter?

    Hi GuysI was interested in Bob's suggestion to fencing and it seems that alot of people do tend to use a polygon with a DXT1 with Alpha to represent a fence, Am I right?Bob, are the Bars created in Gmax/FSDS and the Block a Polygon?The picture below is a type of common Agri fence which I would like to replicate, taking into consideration frame rates and all other things, I would appreciate any advice on creating this!!I could spend hours on editing images, as long as I know its the right direction to go!!!RegardsDave

  23. As many others have done, I created a wind turbine in GMax and created an animation so the rotor is rotating - works great. Now I read on http://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen/ about the cahnges needed to turn it into the wind - I change the BGL_CALL to POINT_VICALL as suggested, however it has absolutely no effect. I tried placing two mills next to each other as seperate BGL files, then I tried 4 (based on 2 different GMAX exports to get the rotor at a slightly different angle).
