Is there a way to fine tune landclass to perhaps make one a higher priority than its neighbors thus causing it to be predominate. I have just one little area at the end of a runway that is crops. If however, I make the landclass that is encroaching on my desired cool grass (42) then I loose a small populated area which is desireable. I have looked at adding fixed textures but they look terrible with their perfect borders when compared to tne normal blended textures.Dick

Greetings everyone, A few days ago I decided to take a challenge and create some scenery for FS2002. I took a little time to decide what my subject airport was going to be but in the end it came down to my first choice. My local airpark has been very neglected in terms of flight sim scenery so that became my subject. Skyhaven Airport is not a large airport but it's great for most GA flyers in the north east. It offers services for it's usual members as well as transient aircraft, and the 4001 by 100 foot runway serves for the occasonal large aircraft that come in. I am overlaying airports on top of aerial imagery. Since the default FS2002 runways/taxiways do not line-up in most cases, I have 2 choices:(1) Try and modify the airport skirting image to align better with the runways.(2) Move the FS2002 Runways and Taxiways to overlay the skirting.After battling back and forth on this for some time, I am going ahead and moving the FS2002 runways, taxiways, markings, and AI paths (for accuracy).As expected, this causes the user aircraft starting position to be off when you use the "World | Go to airport..." option in fS2002.I went into the AFDFILES and changed the RwyLoc() values for the airport in question. I used to think that the only two choices for sdk custom terrain scenery was to have Summer only + night, or All seasons + night.I just found out I can have ANY season + night, by activating the "with seasons" command in the inf, and setting the textures to ###############sp.bmp. No need for the other seasons textures to be present.perhaps I'm the last to figure this out, but I thought I'd share in case anyone was interested. Got a problem. I want to remove a specular map from a material in GMax 1.2, but I can't find out how. In GMax 1.1 there was a nice button with a X on it to remove them, but that is gone. Hi All,I'm working on a little addon scenery to create a realistic wildfire. One of the phenomena is exploding trees (due to heating of water in the treetrunks). I'd like to somehow recreate this phenomenon.In CFS2 explosions are possible. Are explosions somehow also possible in scenery in FS2002. How could explosions be created. With effectfiles...? HiI've created an object in Gmax, made up of many rectangles at different angles, and when i exported it into FS, instead of having all the corners meeting at the correct places and the objects remaining the same as in gmax, some of the objects either dissapear, the scale of a few objects becomes MASSIVE and other parts remain normal.I'm wondering what the problem is, i've been using this object for other creations and all i've done is copied it and used it at other locations, and thats where the problem has started.Is it related to scaling?CheersWill

Has anyone experimented with importing aircraft carriers from CFS2 into FS2002? I'd love to practice carrier ops in "Briefing Time" on a period carrier if possible. I know you can import CFS2 scenery into FS2002, but I'm not sure if you can make them landable. Any insight would be appreciated.thanks,

Hi designersUsing Scenery Creator I've excluded an NDB to correct its position. The ADF finds my newly placed NDB correctly and FSNav does too. However, on the GPS I still see the default NDB. Am I overloking something simple, or must I manually edit the NDB out of the default afd file?cheers, halabraham

Hi all,I hope you can help, as this is driving me nuts... and as ever, can you keep any replys simple. :-) I've finally got some time to myself, so I thought I would continue with my "learning GMAX and build an Oil Platform" project. I've reached the stage of texturing, and am happy with assigning textures and Unwrap maps etc. the problem I have is that the textures show up in FS2002 offset from where I placed them. So I have a simple box, and I assign a texture to it and then I do the unwrap UVmap thingy, and accurately place the selected face over the exact part bof the texture I want show. I look in GMAX and it looks great (even if I do say so myself) save, export, …

Hi all, I've just started working on a scenery which i think i could potentially turn into a commercial product. I've been looking around at all the scenery design programs available but can't find any payware programs that meet my needs. The freeware stuff seems more up to date! Basically, the two functions i'm looking for in one program are texture mapped polygons, and FS2002 taxilines. I don't think there is any program out there that can do both these things. Especially payware stuff. In fact the only program i know of that does texpolys is Groundmaker 4. Is there an easy way to manually convert a poly in Scasm to a texpoly? Or some other way of doing this without r…

Okay. A few simple questions. And I suspect the answer is NO to all three (system limitations), but I might as well ask-1. I am using FSSC to build an aiport with four parallel runways (Tinian Island 1945). The runways were designated "A" (Able), "B" (Baker), "C" (Charlie) and "D" (Dog). However, FSSC will only let me call them L (left), R (right), or C (center). It this a limitation of FSSC, or (as I suspect) a limitation of FS2002?2. I tried to generate library object from FSDS2 api.
