Can someone explain to me how all these things interact.If I have installed Wilco Airports 2002, and I want to install jetways to other various airports (someone has provided the necessary files for me to do this), and I want to utilize premade AFCAD files to increase and update various airports with new gates, HOW DOES ALL THIS STUFF INTERACT TOGETHER WHEN USING AI TRAFFIC FLIGHT PLANS. In other words, what are the DOs and DON'Ts?Example:- I install a jetways add-on for KPIT- Then I install a KPIT AFCAD file which adds gates- Then I want to install a real airline flight plan to utilize this airport.How should I go about this and is it even possible? Hello Chaps,Does anyone know where I can get (freely) detailed land use data for the entire UK and Eire ? When I say Land Use data I probably mean Land Cover data (telling me where farm land, urban land, city, moorland is etc).Idealy the data should be in the form of raster images, but any will suffice as I can process it to be that way. Hi,When I do light.landing-lights in my sceneries, there is this "cone of light" which appears when visibility is 5miles/8km or less. I would like to get rid of these "cones", but is it possible? I already promissed before to put some info here about the triangulate algorithm I use. I was a bit too busy until now to think about it, but here it is.When I needed a triangulate algorithm to create the new DrawTriList commands I first tried one I found on the internet. But this one failed on complex polygons and because I had't written it myself I couldn't find and fix the problems. So I started with a blank sheet of paper and made my own algorith. As I am not studying maths, so probably there is already a fancy name for something like this :). Also, there might be a faster way of doing it, but this way I could program it rather easy. First of all, I would like to congratulate Christian Fumey on this great program. I've also been working on a visual designer but you have progressed much farthur than I!I been experimenting with Ground2K and found it to be easy to use once you learn how it works. I've done some test scenery (of areas around Quincy, Ca) creating lakes, rivers, and roads. I've been using topographical maps that I have obtained from the USGS. However, when I create the scenery and then go into MSFS, I find that the objects I created are rotated a bit. This is very evident on roads and rivers winding their way through mountains. I'm working through the GMax tutorial that MS has in the SDK. I've copied MakeMDL.exe to my GMax plugins folder. The tutorial says that when I start up GMax, I should be able to export using MakeMdl. But the only file type I'm getting on the export is a plasma type. Anyone have any ideas what I've done wrong? I'm using GMax version 1.2 and I have not installed it in the default location. After installing MS's MakeMDL SDK, i've noticed that the scale has completely changed compared to my original setup.My System Unit Scale is: 1 Unit = 0.1 metersThis scale worked fine previously, and shapes being exported into Fs at the correct size.NOW, after installing this MakeMDL, i now notice that when using the same scale, and exporting into FS, an object becomes "MASSIVE" - covering the whole sky.I've managed to get a reasonable scale sorted out (1 Unit = 0.001 Meters) but the grid isn't useful any more as i'm having to reduce the shapes scale SO much that gmax comes up with a warning saying i'm shrinking it too much for the level of detail on the object.Can you pl…

Hi All, I spent quite a bit of the weekend Working with CoastLineMaker, which is a handy tool for reworking coastlines.I've noticed that several people have commented favorably on Ground2k for its ability to save a project separate from the data files - CoastLineMaker does that as well! Hi!I did some custom approach lights in gMax, the lights are actually Landing Lights so that they aren't visible from the other side. Changing the LIGHT_LANDING to LIGHT_LANDING_1 draws only the cone and they work fine except the following:* The light points in FS seem to be bigger than default runway lights. Is there a way I could get smaller points? I have tried to draw the polygon that marks a light in gMax very small but it doesn't seem to affect the size or brightness of the light in FS.* Is there another and perhaps a better way of doing "one-way" BGLC lights in than as a landing lights?I have searched the forum for answers but the best thread stopped where BGLC li…

I'm in the process of making shorelines with Airport 2.60 and SCM2VTP.I made 80 roads in Airport but one of them cause a error.I tried to remove different roads but only one gives the error.There are roads with more points than the faulty so that is not the problem.The compilation continues but one road is missing in the Scasm file.Anybody know what causes this error?

Hi all! Has anyone got the new Canada Landclass from FSFreeware(??). I did. Installed it as suggested - dump the bgl right into Scenery dir.- No luck! Created a CanadaLc dir with a Scenery subdir (no Texture folder). Move the bgl into this Scenery sub. Activated it in World/Scenery Library. No luck :-(I have installed many LC with no problem using the latter method. FSGenesis US, New England (it does co-habit very nicely with FSGenesis :-)). I've made few of my own with FSLandclass. Never had any problem. Are those of Raymondo Taburet any different?Thanks for any help,Hugo

HiI developed alittle further from my previous post of wanting to know how to create a light in Gmax for Fs.when using BRIGHT_LIGHT, i can see the whole shape illumated during the day and night, but it's not exactly what i hoped for. I'm after a light which simulates the same effect of the lights on a/c ie. nav lights, landing lights.I've tried to assign other material names to the object ie. _LAND, _NAV etc, but then the object decides not to show up in FS.Can you please tell me of a method i could use to produce a light that looks like a landing light, with the reflection over the ground/or surrounding objects?I'm wanting to use it as "Scenery" only, i don't understand …

Hi all,OK, I know that you can assign 'LIGHT_Landing' etc. as Gmax material e.g. to a simple triangleand it will appear as light in the scenery. Getting the direction of the Light_landing done right, you can even get a more or less directional light. This has been discussedhere before.But it still is not as intensive as on aircraft. Lights on aircraft in FS2002 even becomemore intensive when being more far away. Up to now I thought that this is restricted to aircraft design (maybe different mdl format). BUT: I've now seen FS2002 sceneries that did the trick, so I'd like to know what in addition to assigning the material has to be done.Someone mentioned in an earlier post …

Can anyone tell me if you gain any performance in add-on scenery (or scenery in general) by using the option "Cache this scenery" rather than "Use this scenery directly"? Also, should the cache amount be equal to RAM or space on disk?Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

How can I get the altitude in slew mode to display in degrees, minutes, AND seconds? I know I saw this somewhere, but I can't remember where it was. I believe it was in one of my old issues of "Flight Simulator World", but I can't seem to locate it. Anyone??Thanks,Ray

HiI'm trying to export some scenery onto the following co-ordinates:N51* 9.35 W0 10.44BUT!!!........for some reason FS won't let ANY Gmax work display around this location - only with Default scenery. At the moment i've got my scenery working ok around the South UK coast (in some fields) but unable to get it to work @ this location.I've had a friend test a FSDS 2 object @ these co-ordinates and it displays ok - only GMAX seems to be the problem.If any of you how are able to test an object at this location and get it to work please let me know how you did it.I might be getting the exporting wrong, but i can't see how, as it works else where!Cheers

Hello all,I am needing some help getting Vladimir Svoboda's KMEM next generation to work properly. I have a warning when I load the flight sim with Memphis as the starting point, or when flying into the memphis area.I have isolated the problem to KMEM_base.bgl by starting with all bgl's loaded and removing one at a time until only one was left with the warning.I then used a BGL analyzer downloaded from AVSIM to extract the bitmaps to a text file. I searched for these files on my hard drive and they are all there, and are either in my: ADDON SCENERY/KMEM/Texture folder or my FS2002/texture folder.I would really love to have this fine scenery operational and am not sure wha…

Hi,I have been using Ground2K over the last couple of days, I think it's a very useful program and I like the idea of setting up one background image for so many modifications (with georefernced nima data the coordinates given seem very accurate).Some of my lod13 areas do not have land under them, is Ground2K able to fix this, or will I have to use something like landclass assistant.The program seems to have the option of doing this, but when the bgl's are created a runtime error occurs and the program crashes.Thanks, David

Hi,I always like to fly heavies from and to EHAM. Mostly I stay within Europe. Otherwise I love to fly to Asia. To have some nice views on my trips I have installed Lago EHAM and NL-2000 together with the FSLandclass for Europe.However I still have the feeling I am missing some mesh. Hi,Curiosly I ask, has anyone tried to find out where M$ placed the autogen coding, e.g. the commands drawing the polygons and accessing textures and so on? It would be handy if one could have at least some control over that process, but I guess it's pretty hardcoded into the sim, thus being unreachable for the scenery designers./Sebastian
