Hi all,I have been experimenting with various VTP line segments, and while I can get line sgements to appear as roads/shoreline/rivers etc, I am unable to get consistent appearnace of waves.Sometimes using texture "1029" I get waves, sometimes not, and similarly with other shoreline textures. If I reference the textures in a different order from the main body of the VTP code, or if I list them in a different order at the end of the VTP code, I seem to get different appearance - I can even put in two VTP segments which reference the same texture, but one appears with waves and one without!!Can anyone tell me what's going on, and how to accurately determine the appearance (…

Hello!I have found a really nice Piper Pa-31 chieftain made in FSDS V1.x for FS2000 and it is great also for AI traffic. But... as many non-gmax models this one does not have landing gear down when on the groud. So I am curious, is this feature locked in mdl file or somewhere else? Bill requires you to delete various FS2K2 codes and replace it with his in order to get the old scenery to disappear. I can't seem to follow his instructions. Is it because I have FS2K2 regular edition (as opposed to professional?). Can somebody give me real exact instructions on how to do this? Thanks!

Hi, i've been working on a Gmax EGKK tower, which you can see in the screenshots forum. I'm now wanting to add a few lights on the structure, but how does one go about doing so, and also say if i wanted a large light, can this be done by a cluster of lights in a group?P.s got the latest version of Gmax.CheersWill

Hi everybody, I am looking for ideas to represent coral reefs in FS2002. If you ever had the chance to fly (either in the cockpit or even in the window seat of a passenger cabin) over the Great barrier reef area in Australia you will be absolutely disappointed by doing this trip in FS2002. Some of the small beautiful islands are missing (they could be done with LWMPolygons without much difficulty, if you download the coastline coordinates the job is not too difficult). But for the reef line around such islands (and for the reefs without islands) we will probably need a rather wide VTP line structure with a special kind of texture (possibly a semi-transparent bmp to let th…

Is there a way to, let's say make a poligon I created with regular scasm code and make it a VTP code without having to use any other programs or calculations, but just editing a text files? Hey gang, I was just watching the late news and the "tech" report showed a demo of this... http://www.earthviewer.com/ You need an Nvidia graphics card to try it out for free (30 days)... and option to buy for 90$ Its really spectacular in action... thought you guys might find it useful in some way.joeps. on the news report I watched, they zoomed in on one of Saddam's swimming pools, and swung the camera around it. I currently have some VTPm2 code, that uses named textures. But, I want to have my textures blended with the surrounding landclass textures.From the great information I have read here (from Dick and othes), I am hoping that this will work, if I replace the named textures with "253" (I use seasonal textures).I am guessing that when FS2002 sees a texture "253" for a LOD13 cell, it will search for an appropriate texture, using the same naming convention as those created by RESAMPLE. This has probably been answered before but I can't seem to find it.I just created new terrain mesh for most of the Rockies between Alberta and BC using Canada NTDB map sheets. It looks wonderful except for some problems around Banff Townsite where the default mesh causes a problem. I have tried to Exclude that area to turn off the default but it doesn't work.. I have tried to move my mesh above or below the default.. if I turn off Western Canada default my mesh shows properly... any ideas?Cheers Rod

I and few other enthusiasts are planing to make Landclass Projects for the few areas of our country and perhaps at this stage around its major hub airports. We need some pointers on how to best proceed with the Project. I would like to construct a road which passes partially around and partially under the airfield via a tunnel. As such I want to 'dig' a valley through which the road would pass. I know that it's not possible to create the tunnel but is it possible to create this 'valley' up to the point where the road reaches the airfield?I have attached a pic to illustrate what I want to achieve.Tnx and RegardsDaniel

Hello All,I am creating scenery for Puerto Rico (Isla Culebra) and I am using satellite photo for texture. I am colorizing the satellite image using photoshop. I want to create a custom palette for the scenery and have FS98 use that palette. Can any of you tell me how I can have FS use this custom palette?I am using airphoto to place the texture in Flight Simulator.RegardsJohn

I am new to scenery design and want to add in FSSC a line of strobelights to the existing LOWI (=Innsbruck, Austrian Alps) scenery. They should flash 2/second, white,and serve as an extend runway lighting system for badweather. All I could achieve until now are thick taxilines which of course don't flash and are too weak to be seen ... I couldn't find any macros for this feature. Any ideas what to do next ? Thanks, J

Hi allCan any one help me or point me in the right direction, on how to create some mast's to look like the pictures i've included. Their are two different types, the square section may be easier I would hope, than the Triangluar section.I had considered removing everything around the metal structure(In the bitmap, leaving a semi transparent texture) and considered this would take for ever, and then there was a question of scale! If this is what is required, then I'm up for the hard work as long as I get my end product.I have had problems with transparent textures, although I understand their should be no reason for this.Thanking anybody that feels they can helpSee picR…

Hi,Using "old-style" transparency (via e.g. FSDS) my textures with transparency start to flicker a lot in the simulator. When I use DXT with alpha channel (importing the alpha via DxtBmp), I get rid of the flickering completely, but there is a nasty side effect: the colour I've given transparency to, replaces the transparency in the sim at a certain distance (not very long distance), and a fence can e.g. become solid and black, instead of transparent as I want it. Is there a way to go around this matter? This issue does not seem to depend on the amount of transparency, it's there regardless of me having 10% or 100% transparency.Grateful for help.../Sebastian

I use Nova to make simple building and hangar macros along with a few other things. Its a nice program and I can usually get what I want out of it. Right now I seem to be having a slight problem. The textures for the default hangars and a few of the small buildings don't seem to light up properly at night. They just look like the whole building is glowing rahter than having a nice area of light from a spotlight or windows lit up. There are .lm bitmaps for these api's as far as i can tell but it just looks a bit strange. Is there something I am missing or is this just how it is with nova api's?Hornit
