    I have just downloaded a scenery package, and although beautiful to look at, it knocks my frames. I am mostly interested in doing IF and bad weather flying, so certain of the items in that scenery (i.e. complex buildings and textures) do not interest me all that much. I wondered if it would be possible to delete some of the non essential buildings etc on the peripherals of this scenery (typically buildings which are outside the actual airport area itself) If so, can anybody advise me on the steps necessary to achieve this, and the best software to do this with.     Hi all, Don Moser. I am having a problem. I am re-doing Otis AFB in Falmouth, Mass. I need to ditch the autogen buildings that are located near the ramps. The problem I am having is they are sitting partially on the ramp. When I go to exclude them, I loose them AND the ramps and all my taxiways. I have tried several different ways, but still end up loosing everything. What am I doing wrong??? I have only used an exclude once, as I usually start from fresh ground. The last time, the buildings were distant from the ramps and runways. ANY help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks all.Don

    I recently installed a new airport scenery file created by a well respected and experienced scenery designer (who for the moment shall remain anonymous since I am not sure this is his fault) and ever since, I have experienced the situation where at that particular airport, my aircraft, which loads and displays just fine, sinks into the ground as soon as I turn off the runway onto a taxiway - and hops up into the air and crashes going the other way. Obviously, there is an invisible altitude difference between the two but I haven't a clue about how to resolve it.   4. I've been using FSArchitect primarily to place photo texture grids down. I've noticed that in FS2002, the grid is not visible until the aircraft is within 10 miles, and then it loads all the textures at once. I've tried changing the visibilty setting on the grid to 36 miles, but it still loads the textures at 10 miles. The effect isn't too bad, but it's noticeable when they all load in all of a sudden, and I think it looks "sloppy". Otherwise, once it is all loaded in, it can create a very nice effect.I checked the Scasm source, and the bitmaps are loaded into the grid using the "LoadBitmap" command.I realise that this may not be because of Architect, but rather it is…

    Hi all - I'm feeling a big need to add trees around my local airports... plus, then, I suppose, the ones I like to fly to.(My locals are KVAY South Jersey Regional and N14, Flying W) The guide I'd be using are Simcharts, which, just like "real" ;) charts show tree masses surrounding airports.(Of course, if I could add power lines too...)Thanks,Andrew

    Good evening.I've already realised the Verdon river, gorges and lakes ,in France(www.Faitmain.com),without having to remesh because Bill forgot this river .I have a problem with a new scenery.I've read the posts concerning remeshing but i did'nt found any anwer.I am remeshing a lake (20 kms length).All was ok but after nearly 2700 points without any problems,the coast reliefs were quite good looking,GR2K stopped the generation of the _2.bgl.I reduced the number of points,looked at lwm files but did'not found anything strange.I am using GR2k vers3.02 with default load level.Can only one point crash the bgl?That is wrong?Another question,what is the best lod level choice fo…

    HiI have created a terminal with the glass outside and the frame inside though if you view the attachment,only parts are shown inside and others are outside.I have tried differnt versions of the glass though its still the same.Does anyone know what is causing it and how to fix it?Using GMAX.Thanks in advanceAkzah

Hello - On a clean installation (i.e. no scenery modifications) I'm experiencing the ground texture showing through the apron texture at some runways; as I move, it "moves" with me.When I get to the runway, it works fine.I know I saw something about this way-back-when, but can't remember if it is a video card issue, or what.Any help greatly appreciated!BTW I'm using a Diamond Viper Ultra 770 32, with the latest TNT drivers...thanksAndrew

    Great tool, I have a question since this my first attempt at remesh:I am adjusting the mesh around (and on) a small lake that has quite a complex shape. But I ran out of points in the Remesh_LWM.asm file, it seems that the max number of points at any particular altitude is 255. Compile with BGLS.EXE fails (I can't remeber the error).No major problem I just had to make a number of remesh .BGLs to cover the whole lake surface, keeping the number of points to <255 and the result is very good.I wondered if I could just put points around the edges of the lake?should the flat water surface be filled in?     Hi!I have been trying to find help for my problem here in many threads but I am just getting more confused....The thing is that I need to place many many many library objects in a row and I used GRP command and relative (?) RefPoint coordinates to place them. With Arno's help (thanks ;-) ) that is not a problem. The problem is that I can't get the objects appear and disappear smoothly even though they have a separate V1 setting in the refpoint. All the objects (that span 600 m) pop up at the same time and disappear at the same time instead of appearing and disappearing smoothly one by one.     Hi,I encountered a weird problem... FS2k2 crashes when I start it at dawn after installing a little modification made with Ground 2K. It's just a VTP1 poly filled with a custom texture (with seasonal variants) and a couple of areas filled with different than default LC. If I start during the day or night, FS will run normally.I use Gaia mesh and custom LC in this area, but that shouldn't be a problem...On a side note, how does the re-mesh thingie work? I played with it a lot and I can't seem to find a good way to place my elevation points. The grid (doesn't matter at which LOD), doesn't seem to be aligned with the grid that FS uses.     I dont try to design much becuase the designing curve is a bit to sharp for the time I have avalible. I need to make an addition to a scenery, Very small very easy (I am assuming). I have to get a picture of 5 people and maybe a few other items at a spacific altitude and Lon/Lad. If some one could please help me and get me directed in the area of where i need to be it would be of great help.I am guessing that this would be more or less a combanation of models and graphics as most scenerys are.Sorry for the bad spelling, Im at work at the momentThanks

    Hi Arno,I took the time over Easter to play with gmax. A while ago, you asked how to get rid of a texture again once you assigned it to a material. I told you to double click the texture in the material browser, so the main material window comes up and you can delete it there. However, the problem was that 'delete' was grayed out. I don't know if this is a bug or what since most things are grayed out, eg you can't rename the texture name either.Here is how to solve it. Instead of double clicking the texture, select (double click) the material instead. (Or double click the texture and go one level up so you have the material selected).     Hi to everyone...We face a serious problem with the alignment of the map that we use for our project and the cell grid of Ground2k.We take a printscrean from fs2002.We take the coordinates of one point in fs for NW and another for SE.Now we face the first problem as we try to convert the coordinates via ground2k's degrees calculator.When for example we have N39:38:98 the degrees calculator doesnt accept the "98" number.It seams that it accepts until "60".We overide this problem by changing the N39:38:98 with 39:39:00 but we thing that its no a correct solution.PROBLEM 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The coordinates that we cropp from a point in fs2002 doesnt seam to be the same at the s…
