    I started on what I thought would be a relatively simple task, to add a detailed shoreline to an existing lake. I grabbed Ground2K and waded in, no pun intended. Registering the source map and digitizing the new shoreline and water poly was pretty straightforward but I ran into a wall trying to exclude the old existing lake poly and shoreline.     Hi all, someone suggested I might find an answer in this specific forum, so here goes.. Just about done with an oilrig for FS2K2 but I'm having a problem...the elevated helipad (invisible runway added with Airport) creates a bug; the first time you load the scenery, it looks as if the entire oilrig is sitting atop an elevated "hill" of water. If I reload the scenery library it makes the water surface flat again, but I can't leave this uncorrected as it's custom scenery for a VA. I've tinkered with the Area16 commands but I'm not very familiar with how to edit raw Scasm code. Tried the usual setup with a flatten area underneath etc.. but the problem remains.Anyone have th…

    The grass runways I am trying to make have fox-holes nicely aligned on each side. (please look at the screen shot)If I install dirt runways, I do not have the potholes. Also, when I get on or leave either runway, I get a big jump and the engine quits.I tried to play with the altitude of the field and that of the runways, I tried flatten areas from +1 to -4 feet and nothing works. I tried all I could think of even ridiculous solutions as you can see and nothing worksPlease help. I am using Airport version 164 Leon Louis

    Awhile back I was able to create more than one item in a scenery in G2K. For instance, I created a ground poly to place a cabin on, saved and compiled, then I was able to create an entirely new item like a road in the same session. G2K would create a second bgl with a number appended to the file name. It would do this for each new item I placed in the scenery.However, it's been awhile since I've used G2k, and I can't for the life of me remember how to create a second item!! I know, what a dope :-)I'm hoping that one of you fine G2K experts and give me a clue!!Thanks in advance for your help :-)Regards,Paul Kane

    Sorry if i'm here again I'm neewbe and need help from you. I've try to solve my problem but i'm not able to do it myself.I made a little scen (only roads) follow the instructions found on g2k_for_beginner.I got:1) A land with water poly instead roads so i've change the param on LWM/POLY section checking land param and set altidute to 154 m that's the altitude of my zone.2) after recompiling water poly desappear and i got.. nothing.. only original scen.. Where are go my roads ?Maybe they don't like my town ??? ;-)In poly/line/shore section i've too an altitude setting to 154 m.Where i am wrong ??? MAybe altitude setting must be 0 ???Can help me ????Thanks allRobi

    I thought I would try Ground2k to vastly improve the lakeshore in the vicinity of Burlington, Vermont. I created a transparent overlay of a screen capture of FS2k and a Streets&Trips map, and when I started working with the map I noticed a few things right away that bother me a little.......when I click the LC (or WC) icon I get a grid which is DIFFERENT than when I click the EXCLUDE icon, and I don't see why this would be useful or correct. The center of the LC and WC areas defined by the gridlines gridlines match up with the intersection of the EXCLUDE grid. I have Version 3.0. Isn't this a glitch?Attempts to exclude the shorelines doesn't appear to work, either...…

    Hello everyoneI am making some macros of aircrafts now and trying to modify some.I need to know what would be the numerical code used to call black and other colors in a FS98 .mdl file.This so I could change the color of the struts undercarriages and other fixed colors.     hi all, One of my GMAX buildings is not displaying correctly in fs2002 - the textures remain black until you are really close - see attched picture.I was messing around with opacity/illumination on the non-textured components and this may have something to do with it? (see yellow buildings in picture).Any suggestions? - oh and the only reason I've got this far with the project is all your answers to my prevoius questions - thanks!

    The 10 and 30 meter dems I am working with have lat. and long. lines that show up as not parallel with the x and y axes. This results in thin wedges of areas with no elevation data on all four corners of the map when viewed with the tmfviewer in the fs2002 SDK. Will these dems work with resample.exe to create "accurate"(as in accurate lat. and long.) bgl files? I ask this because it looks like the tmfviewer expects lat. and long. to be lined up with the x and y coordinate axes. After I resample a binary file and then view the resulting bgl on the tmfviewer, the lat. and long. read-outs are not accurate.Is there a utility I can download that will make the 30 meter dems…

    Hi, I dont usually work with BGLs, MDLs are my bag. I have a TON of really nice scenery objects that I made in Gmax. I hate to have them wasting away on my drive and want to convert them to a usable format for you scenery guys. I have tried FSregen and have FSSC, but I cant seem to get regen to create a usable lib obj. If someone could show me how I need to covert my gmax BGLs into macros I could upload them for use. I tried to follow the instructions in regen, but was very confusing as im not too familiar with scasm and BGLs. thanks joe

    Hi Guys, I'm back againI am trying to use the Runwaydata() command with the runway that I have created using the Points() Loadbitmap() and Texpoly() Commands, in order to provide runway lighting1) I have achieved this reasonably well, although I had to use the 'abs' Refpoint() type to keep the elevations the same.2) I have also acquired a 'bumpy surface' problem on the runway but nowhere else. I have tried to resolve this problem with the SurfaceType() command and this fails!! If I rem the runwayData() command for the lighting, the 'Bumpy' problem disappears!!!     Terraserver, previously an excellent resource for background images, appears to either be down or Microsoft has sold it. I guess the latter since there is a new commercial terraserver service up now. Ground2K greatly benefitted from this service. I really do not know where we can secure nationwide USA photos to allow us to properly place roads, rivers and coastlines. Dick KLBE

    I've been playing around with AFCAD trying to add some extra gates at EGNM and I've noticed that when compared to the offical data the airport is in the wrong place. I've placed the ref point as described in the CAA ref doc as being in the middle of r/w 14/32 but when I add the runway its no where near the this point. Is everything like this? I've compared a couple of other airports with CAA info and they don't show in the right place either!What am I doing wrong?
