    Gday All,I have had a hell of a lot of trouble trying to export ANY scenery object onto water in FS2002. I've searched the forums here for an answer, but failed to find any mention.Has anyone had any success placing objects onto water in FS2002? If so, what is required for something to show?I suspect it has something to do with the landclass. ie: No land type class underneath, no exporting of objects on that surface.An example was where I made a jetty/pier object that sat on the coastline, exporting it from gmax would pile all the objects up on top of each other, reulting in a big mess.I ended up creating a macro object in FSDS2 and exporting it so that the centre point, …

    Hello!My Problem: i generate LWM Streets... okthen i generate VTP2 Polygons... some 10 in the whole area... okwhen i see in FS2002 it looks great!after that i add some more VTP2 polygons... i try them in fs2002 AND:ALL VTP-poly's disappear, and every street which is in the same cell13 as the area touches also disappears...i don't understand since what procedure they dissapear. First i thought it was while i used "imbrication" feature. but i used this function one times and i could see the polygons... but after doing more polys, ALL Polys disappear! is there a problem when i generate a poly completely inside another poly? which i give imbrication number?is this correct?:e.…

  4. Well, it could be my fault and there might be a sensible explanation for it. But maybe someone else can verify it for me.I experienced a strange behaviour during day and night conditions in the plain default scenery for Germany.I landed on plain grassland/farmland somewhere in Europe during the day. When I switched the time to "night" I found the ground changed into water - my helicopter was sinking.I didn't checked other places in Europa, but a quick test near Las Vegas didn't show the same metamorphosis.I switched of all 3rd party sceneries I am aware of and as far as I remember I didn't installed any 3rd party landclasses in that area etc.If someone could check this lo…

    Make sure that your Terrain Vertex Level in the Terrain section of the FS2002.cfg file is set to 21. Otherwise, adustments you make to elevations with Ground2K may not appear leading to confusion and wasteful inquiries to the author - Christian Fumey.Dick

  8. I am trying to improve the deault scenery around the Seychelles but need a bit of help. I seem to be able to change the default coastlines and elevations but every time I change the landclass or add a texture to the land FS crashes.It always loads up to 9% texture then stops. I have never been able to get around this even though I have studied the readme files from the Ground2K for beginers and the readme for the Ground2K main programme.At the moment I now have islands with proper elevation that do look good (even from a distance) but I can't get any other ground textures than the default. Any help/advice would be gratefully received. Colin

    I am new to scenery design, and have looked at certain issues which need clarifying.Often one needs to make transparent textures such as windows of a control tower, because invariably one can see right through. In a way the same goes for making fences and radio masts for example.What is the best way to achieve this result in GMAX?

    Iwant to change the landclass files for my local area but can't seem to find the terrain sdk file that I need to use with landclass assistant. On microsoft's home page the only sdk I could find was for panels. Also any leads on places to search for govt. landuse surveys or satelite pictures would be appreciated. TIA for your help.Just found the sdk, guess it would have helped if I searched the forum first, still would appreciate leads on satelite surveys, etc.TIA for your help to a new scenery designer!

    I was creating an API macro with FSDS. The idea is that by giving different altitude values in Airport (2.60 build 157) I can rise and sink the object correspondingly. Now when trying this only %11 value which works in FS2002 is 0:Macro( e:testiboksi.api N64:41.21 E24:42.60 30 0.01 45 00 00 00 00 20000 0 0 V2= 250 )If I try something else, the object does not show up at all.     Hi all,I have just about finished a scenery file when a beta tester friend of mine noticed that the runways headings are reversed when viewed in the FS2002 map view or on the GPS!e.g. The aircraft can be sitting on runway 02, the directional gyro says 020 deg, the runway ID says I'm on runway 02. If you go to the 'Go To Airport' screen in FS2002 & use the 'Runway/Starting Position' it works OK & you end up on the correct runway.Can anyone suggest what the problem is? (I am using FSSC).Cheers

    Hi AllAs I near the compleation of my scenery, I have been trying to arrange the detail at different levelsA lot of my scasm file as a IfVarRange() command for a given Area() section, however if I try to add an additional IfVarRange() for example, showing a building and may be the steps at a different complexity level, the programming falls over!!! However, when I delete the modifications I made, the complexity settings seem to be permanantly affected, even after recompiling.It is almost as if the previous (higher up the file) IfVarRange() command is now controlling the display complexity.Obviously it may be my programming that may be the problem, as I am still striving t…

    I am new to scenery design, but have done a lot of reading on the subject, but have yet to actually get going, which I am about to do. I have elected to use GMAX as the preferred scenery design tool because it seems as though using this will have the least impact on frame rates, provided of course the polygon count is kept in check. (Is there any truth in this assumption?)Since I have zilch experience in FS2002 scenery design, I am rather concerned that I will invest a lot of time in a project, just to find out later that there were alternatives.     I have just examined LAGO's new TURIN scenery, and in the manual it is claimed that the scenery was made in GMAX...I was wondering whether this includes the aprons, taxyways and runways. All of these items are wonderfully textured, better than I have seen in most sceneries, leading me to believe that the designer had a lot of control here....like applying textures a la the GMAX procedures.Can anybody confirm whether it is possible to make hard runways, taxyways, etc effectively in GMAX, or is one stuck with using another program such as FSSC or Airport to make runways (which invariably restrict your appearance with these programs' stock texturing)If so, would anyone give …

  19. I am making a small aerodrome as the basis of a GMAX airport tutorial which will appear in the next issue of my Godzone Virtual Flight magazine. Although this mainly relates to GMAX, I do wish to include brief techniques and tips on all aspects of airport design.     Hi guys,I've been meaning to get the German Airports series for ages as i know they're good sceneries from the reviews and screenshots, but as you know, fs2004 is due in a few months. I wondered are GAP 1-3 made with Gmax? I know GAP 4 is but am i right in thinking that 1-3 were made for fs2000 and just patched for FS2002? Therefore they probably won't be compatible with fs2004?They don't mention anything on their website about updates. Anyone heard anything?
