Hello,I plan to release a new version of Yak-40. If some of you remember my previous version (available at this site), many improvements have been made: some corrections of the visual model (nose, wings base), gears compression and better retraction animation, better flaps animation, loading ramp and thrust reverser animations, creation of a passenger cabin visible both from the outside and the virtual cockpit, creation of a [very simple] virtual cockpit with working levers, correct texture projections and night texturing (FSDS bug fixed in v2), langing light visible from both 2D and 3D cockpits, shiny metal glare...Since this is just an upgrade of the first FSDS1 version…

I have been doing some tutorials for gmax. No problems until I started doing the P38 tutorial. Hopen that someone can help me with this or has seen it before. I follow the steps to insert my background pictures and then do the first save to myp38_background I think it was. Now, if I quit gmax and load this back up, it says the each background will take about 200MB + of space to load (200 +3 images = 600)...and of course if I try to load all of them the computer usually pukes. The cal box that you make is the right size. tried this a number of times and with the same results. any ideas ?Thanks,Roger

Well I'm down to the last gauge on the main panel, and I'm not sure which variable to use for it! :-zhelpThe Side Slip indicator, shown below, has units measuring 15 from the left, to 15 units to the right.http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3e1a02a97db7c023.jpgThe only variable I can think of using is "TURN COORDINATOR BALL". Unless the default MS gauge uses the different velocity variables? If anyone has worked on a similar gauge and knows what variables to use that would be a great help! Thanks for any help or suggestions. Andrewhttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3e1a040c06632af5.jpg

I notice last week a gauge developer had released a cold and dark gauge. What this does is it shuts down the engines and electronics on startup at the gates. This lead me to think, wouldn't it be nice to have a simalar gauge to automatically set the COM and Nav freq to put the jetways and service trucks in place on startup for simflyers scenery by passsing in the freq as a parameter based on the aircraft. Unfortunatly my developer skills are limited to VB and Java for business systems. Do you guys have any thoughts on this or know of any developers that could do this?

Good DayI'm getting ready to release my first panel however I have two issues to resolve before the release. i want to place a compass on the panel so only half will show. To do this I have a negative y axis number. This causes the gauge to disappear. Is there anything I can do. The second thing is I have a stuck N1 engine 2 gauge. When the N1 target bool is not active the E2 N1 sticks on 0 but with it active it works fine. Please Help Thanks - - - (A:Turb eng1 N1, part) 0 max .986 min - - (A:General eng1 throttle lever position, part) s1 0 < - REV- (L:N1 ref target switch, bool) (A:General eng1 throttle lever position, part) s1 0 >= && - %((L:n1 targe…

Nothing outrageous, but some have commented that ICONS for ATC, GPS, and Radio would be handy on the panel, so I have put them in.Also I am dabbling with some different trim colors. Blue so far.Onward through the fog.Regards.Bob C.

%((P:Units of measure, enum) 2 == if{ (A:Radio height, meters) } els{ (A:Radio height, feet) } d 4500 <= )%{if}%(1 /)%!04d!0%{end}Hi!Look at the string above. It's to show the alt above the ground on an EADI. I've took the source code for this string from an other gauge and just edited the string a bit. This was long time ago. At this time I thought not even looking at the string-code would be the best!!! Since then, I (nearly)never had to work with strings again. But there always was one little problem(and one question), which I thought is not that important. It really isn't, but I want to know it:1.)Why is (P:Units of measure, enum) used here. Isn't this the sim-rate?…

Hi! Could you tell what I have to do to prevent the Default fs2002 tail number from showing up? I know there is a way to do it, as I have seen it done on some baron repaints. All I know is that i need to make an extra texture and hex-edit the MDL file. THANKS!!

Hi all... I've been perusing this group trying to get a feel for the panel / gauge / aircraft design community, as I'm thinking of developing a full featured panel based on the new Flightmax Entegra from Avidyne. I've been looking for documentation on this new avionics suite, and have been pretty unsuccessful so far. I'm thinking of calling up Avidyne to see what kind of documentation they have available, and to see if they'd have any problem with me creating a panel based on the Entegra.Do most of the "pro" design companies like PSS, Flight 1, etc, get some sort of permission from the companies whose products they model, or do they even need to? I'm not sure if I'd go th…

I have just started flying a PA28-161 in real life and I have downloaded Precision Sim Designs' Warrior to fly in virtual life. I'm generally impressed - great looking model, flies pretty well etc. BUT the panel lacks any engine instruments! Something of a handicap. So...does anyone know of a decent PA28 panel I can use until PSD get around to fixing theirs?

HiI'm trying to make my own string variables based on a variety of inputs set in various gauges, and then have them popup and display automatically by a "controller gauge". But I'm not able to store and retrieve the strings successfully.Any ideas on how to store i.e. 'Hello World' (>L:Mystring, string) and have this variable displayed anywhere else? With "normal" %!s formattings all I get is a 0. return? My current workaround is several elements with a series of visible tags to display the needed string, but it doesn't spell good coding :D

Can someone tell me why on some panels when autopilot is active and I only have a hold on the Atl. the autopilot looks out my ailerons. This is happening more and more with downloaded panels. I just downloaded Jorge 'eko' Salas latest 777 panel for meljet and it has the same problem.
