Took the plunge on my first A/C design tool. I had mentioned toward the end of last year that such was my plan. I've only had one day to play with it, and I am not going to waste bandwidth on my shots of my first effort, but I can say that it seemed fairly easy to produce something which looked like an aircraft, with parts appearing where they should, and moving (roughly) the way they should. I was pleased that I could tag a part as the elevator, and it was basically "animated" as such.I loved the "wing wizard".... Doing something similar in GMAX just proved beyond me.... Hello all. I am trying to set the weights for an MD-11F fully loaded with cargo using the station loads in the aicraft.cfg. I have the information on the type and placement of the containers, but I have a question how much the containers actually weigh.For example an 88 x 125 pallet has a gross weight of 10,300 lbs, and a tare weight of 248 pounds. This gives a net weight of 10,052 pounds. So is this how much the full loaded container actually weighs when it's placed on a scale? Thanks for any help you can give me.-Albaro Villegas

is it possible? I tried putting the standard GPS in my VC, with unsatisfactory results. If it doesn't work my options are: 1. use a third party GPS,2. fake it, or3. don't bother.- Martin

AI aircraft repaints tend to be in a wide variety of image formats: 8 bit, 32 bit, DXT1, DXT3, with or without mipmaps, with or without alpha channel...I like them to be *all* in DXT1, mipmapped, *no* alpha channel. :-)This would release about 700 kB harddisk space for each of the hundreds of repaints. Any ideas of a mass conversion procedure, especially the alpha channel removal?Regards,Claudius

This here thingy on the wing is supposed to be a landing light. Could someone help me out with a recommendation for colors to make it look like glass or plastic? RGB numbers would be the best thing for me to work with. I am using PSP7 and FSDS2. Could I use a gradient to make it look like it has reflections?Thanks,John Woodward

HiCan anyone give some help with a problem I am having with the main rotor hub. This is all one part made up of several smaller parts. They were all joined and the axis moved to the correct position for animation. This was then made a child of the rotor blades ( called prop blurred)The animation is ok, but, only a few bits of this part are visible when viewed from above. I have made sure the part 'Prop blurred' is the last part to be made in the list.The top of the part is still seen as is one or two of the pitch links when you pan the view round still staying above the rotor disc, but the rest is gone. I have tried all I can think of.Working on your own can lead to hair …

I just downloaded the freeware paint program GIMP. Does anybody use this program to paint aircraft,panels or scenery? If so how do you like it?Looks like a powerful program.May be too large a learning curve without any tutorials.Bill

I want to be able to select a random object, and move it to a radius around the aircraft randomly at flight start.basically you enter the flight then say (ObjectA) is positioned randomly within a 150 Mile radius around the aircraft. Hi,Does anyone know whether it is possible to make gauge sounds programmed using Daniel's FSSound.dll respond to the Sound ON/OFF (Q key) control or to the Pause Simulator (P key).I ahve a number of files generating the wind noise associated with things like extended U/c, Flaps and Dive brakes, but press the P key to pause the sim and the sound file keeps right on playing.
