FSX/FSX-SE Aircraft and Panel Design Forum - How To

I have a problem, perhaps not knowing enough to solve it, but it appears that when I downloaded Paul Golding's MD80 panel to use with the new FFX DC9-51, his FS2k gps.gau file version replaced my FS2k2 version of the same file, now I am getting the 3rd-party error with this file each time I get into an aircraft. Any solution would be much appreciated.GrantM

I was wondering if somebody knows if it exist au good 172 pannel where we can find an effective "carb heat" knob ?I tried any default cessna and I found no carb heat knob for all the cessnas, I can't beleave it !Is it possible a thing as basic as possible were not implemented in fs2k2 ?Most 172 in school in Canada airport have carb heat...We are a new group of 20 students and we wish to use fs2k2 to in complement to our cours.JP

Hi,I've been editing a mesh generated by lofting - and as a result got several faces with improperly aligned normals - so they are smoothed in a wrong way (see pic). Is there a technique to fix these smothing problems?I recal there was a tutorial - but I've failed to find one :(

Hello, I have done a few repaints now for FS2002 (posted in AvSim under Leon Louis) and with this new one, I crashed against a brick wall. I did new liveries for the wheel and ski version of the Skywagon with no problem,but now, the floats version is a problem for me.1- I do not know how to access to change the color of the pontoon struts since there is no bmp for it. (see picts.) There must be some code somewhere I guess.2- I cannot figure out this alpha program or reflective textures and also, my knowledge keeps me in the 256 color range. If I try to save a file in 32 bit it does not work. (I am using PSP 7). To paint the floats is not a solution eithe…

Greetings,I have a few questions regarding panel modifications...(1) Is there any way to assign several windows to one keystroke (eg. SHIFT+2 toggles both overhead and main panel)?(2) Can the size of the outside view window be assigned to a specific panel window allowing for different outside window sizes with different panel windows?(3) I have modified an existing panel I have. So far I have added one window which works fine, however everytime I exit flight sim or attempt to change aircraft when in this window the program crashes. Greetings all,I am trying to "tweak" one of my panels, and am a little bit confused as to how the size of the panel bitmap is represented in flight sim. My panels appear to be stretched vertically from what my bitmap represents. For exapmle, I am running flight sim at 1280x1024 resolution and have a main panel centered on the bottom of the screen and an upper panel centered on the top of the screen. Together, the Y axes of the panels add up exactly to 1024, yet they do not meet in the middle of the screen when displayed in flight sim.Can anyone explain to my why this occurs and/or better yet how to get around it? I have been having some problems with textures for a few aircraft not showing up. (Where the textures aren't showing up the faces are black, which I know is different from the white that shows when it can't find textures.) Specifically, the "MelJet Boeing 747-400 Northwest Airlines Version III", "MelJet Boeing 747-400F Singapore Airlines Cargo Version III", Mike Stone's "FS2002 Boeing 727-200 Package (v3)", and the Skylark helicopter. In the case of the 727's, only a few spots are affected that I can tell: The thrust reversers and possibly the inside of the aft end of the engines. (Maybe more that I haven't seen.) The 747's are just about all black and the skylark is blac…

Anybody knows how convert CFS2 choppers to Fs2002?I found two greats armed Hueys...UH-1B 1St Cav & UH-1C Seawolfs - Vietnam Era...but I can't reconvert them to FS2002. I love this models and I want to fly with them in Fs2002.How can I convert this models?Please, help me.

Guys, I don't know what's wrong. When I try to paint my aircraft I wing up with no textures at all. I use the default MS "paint" program and it works nicely, if I could get the textures to work. Please help me as I want to be a repainter too... :-zhelp Here's what my textures look like...

Does anyone out there have any good photos of the cockpit in a Mitsubishi MU-2???????? By that I don't mean just the panel, but the rest of the cockpit.... Roof panel, side views etc....I've searched the net, but can find only reasonably good to poor panel views...
