I'm trying to put together livery and I got the color information from the airline's website, and it says,"Pantone 2685 or C90 M100 Y0 K0"I can't really figure out what this means...is there anyway to translate this into RGB? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I'm modeling the fuel system on a DC-9-41. There are left, right, center and center aux tanks. (see attached pic) The FS fuel tank selector switch does not allow the use of combinations such as left & center. It appears to be only left or right or both. Can I use multiple selector switches (FS allows a max of 2) and achive this tank combination?I'm thinking selector switch 1 will work the left and right tanks while selector switch 2 will work the center.I know there will need to be custom code to make this work but is this concept possible? Please help me if you see what I'm trying to do within FS contraints.ThanksJohn

I just downloaded the cfgedit.exe to try to build a panel at least modify the one I am using. I tried selecting the all guages in th pulldown list. all the 2002 guages are listed but the program says there is no bitmap for them. It seems the program only works on FS2000 guages and none exist in my FS2002/guages directory. Does anyone know of a update or am I missing something obvious again?

Hi,For anyone looking for a timer, here's a very simple solution:(L:Timer, bool) ! (>L:Timer, bool) Put this in a seperate gauge, then you can use (L:Timer, bool) which is toggled once a second to count or do something else.regards,Franz

Thanks to all of you that have give me help this far. I need to get back on the engineering stuff but this FS thing has got me hooked. The model is rather simple for my experimental model. It is quite funtional. All controls including water rudder steering and retactable landing gear work great. It performs great on water land and in the air!! Its getting about 184 Knots at 90% power settings with the parisite drag slider at .75 The air.cfg file has been treeked to get almost exactly the design and power figures I have in the real life model. All I need now is to get the panel to display in my VC and get a paint job!!! As you can see the test pilot I barrowed from the P…

What am I missing now? I took typical FS texture from a Cessna 208 panel folder. Applied it to a simple geometric plane in gmax. all I get is a white blank. I tried every possible format using imagetool.exe to get it to appear in FS with no luck. I also wonderif there is a freeware paintbrush type program that I can use to produce the paint maps I see in other aircraft texture folders? Thanks, Steven

Folks,Hello all, I am looking for some EXPERIENCED designers. I would like to replicate a C550 for use in FlightSim. All I have is data about the bird, and I fly it regularly.Problem...I do not know how to build it, and I am too critical of myself to attempt it.What I need...I need a group of people who are willing to build it. I would like a bird, panel, and sound. I would like to be able to do it along the lines of PIC or the Falcon 50. You know, I want to enjoy flying it. I will most likely be able to supply all data about the plane. If interested, please email me at [email protected],Jason Vodnansky

Dear all,I'm having a problem texturing my aircraft in Gmax and I'm not sure where I'm going wrong .I'm creating a 1024x1024 texture in PSP and applying it to my model in GMAX, the problem is the texture has a few stripes which curve slightly and although the stripes look fine on the bitmap they come out with jagged and rough edges when applied to my aircraft.I've tried everything I can think of with no success.See attached image .Any advice appreciated regardsGilles

I downloaded the Skyking package here at Avsim tonight. The package is GREAT but there are two missing gauges (Seabee-attitude and xbobcat-gear) in the BobcatF panel. I tried sending e-mail to Bill Lyons, the author, but it was returned as undeliverable. Does anyone have these two gauges or know how to contact Bill Lyons? Thanks, best regards to all, Bob.

Hi,I've been learning how to work with the FS2002 variables little by little and it's trying to figure out how to read them that is driving me crazy. The FS2002 SDK only lists the variable names themselves and I have no way of telling what the actual VALUES of the variables are unless I sit for hours trying to 1st display the value and than figure out how to convert the data into somthing I understand.Going through the Units documents tells me there are quite a few possibilites.Has anyone published more detailed info about the FS variables other than the FS SDK's?Can anyone recommend any freeware panels that have been created using XML... that I could examine and learn fro…

When you use 0 mips DXT textures I get planes that may look something like the one below or appear to be totally black. Maybe I'm the only person this happens to, maybe I'm not. Maybe it happened to other people who didn't discover what the source of the problem is and dismissed it as something else. I'm just saying that it would be nice if you would try not to use 0 mips textures. (Or at least make a version/texture pack that has textures with mips.) I don't expect you all to go and redo the textures for aircraft you've released that have 0 mips textures. I'm just mentioning it for future consideration, and you can do as you like. It's just annoying when you download a l…

Has anyone out there had any luck building gauges using the GNU tools under Cygwin?I've managed to get the samples from the Panel SDK compiled as well as my own dummy gauge (bitmap and mouse tooltips and not much more). They show up just fine in FS Panel Studio, but FS2002 won't load them.I really don't want to spend $100 on Microsoft's compiler when I've got a perfectly good compiler for nothing ;-)

When I use photoshop to change Gauge Bitmaps they are often messed up once imported into the gauge. If I use Paintshop pro all is well, but I want to use some of the Photoshop filters.I see the main problem in attitude gauges where the moveable backgound becomes corrupt, and is either off to one side, or colors are completely screwed up..Any Ideas?ThanksAl

Hi,Flying Mike Stones wonderful L-1011. Everything fine aside from the pronounced nose down attitude on approach. RL Tristars, so I'm told, have a 3-7 degree nose up attitude depending on weight.I've emailed Mike and he said there's an update to come sometime in the future. In the meantime can anyone suggest a tweak to the aircraft.cfg which might help?Thx.
