has anyone succesfully used the DEMO_RECORD function in FS2002? I would like to 'trigger' the start of a video, Using the fs2002 demo function sounded like the best way to do this. Only that it won't record at all. Of course that I can record a video just going to the menu, but I need to trigger it from within a gauge. Any expert can comment on the subject?Thanks,

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie, and I want to design panels. I have made a few basic FS2002 panels using CFGEdit, but it doesn't allow you to use .xml gauges, only .gau gauges. Is there a freeware panel design program for fs2002? Thanks!

In case those who rarely (if ever) visit the General Discussion Forum haven't heard, Bill Morad - the wonderful gentleman who created the WHM-Sound gauges for us, along with a bunch of other gauges - died last night from a massive coronary.I know that I'll never fail to think of Bill every time I click an XML gauge and hear a sound...Every new a/c or panel the F.A.R.T.S. team releases that uses his WHM-Sound gauges will have a brief tribute to Bill Morad in the credits section. His contributions to the flightsim community will be sorely missed.

I added an autopilot to one of my planes that did not have one. I intalled a new stack with the autopilot and in the aircraft.cfg I added a 1 next to the autopilot. I have a small problem, the airplane will follow alt but it will not change headings. This must be easy for you more experienced panel designers. I want to add two buttons in my PIC panel, one to call the GPS and another one to call the aiview module. How can I do so? I managed to add the GPS to the list of windows but I have to type SHIFT+8 every time i need the GPS.There are two unused buttons in the left corner of the panel (right under the window frame), maybe those could be used to do so... is it possible?Thanks a lot!Cheers!

Does anyone know if someone is working on a fully flexing GMAX model of the DC-10-30? Or the MD-11? It would be nice to have a good oldie the that.. An Iron knuckles Dc-10 hehe/!!!!If not I'm willing to start one...

I want to make repaint for fs2002.This is the first time I try it and I don't really know how to start.I can't open the .bmp texture files with photoshop or mspaint.How should I start?Thanks

I am having trouble texturing multiple parts in FSDS2. I want the top of a wing and aileron to line up but the aileron seems to end up painted with a pic of the whole wing when I am done. Can anyone give me a quick rundown on how to paint a wing and aileron in FSDS2?Thanks!!

i have a question about the small parts of a repaint like the registration etc. I am using parts with a very good resolution but when i resize them, photoshop makes the resolution VERY VERY bad! :( What can i do? Any solutions?-------------------------------------------best,

Hey, Merry Christmas everyone, and a happy new year.I'm looking for some help with my latest project. It is a big challenge but unfortunately I can't say exactly what it is. What I'm looking for is good tutorials using FSDSv2.11 on how to create:a) virtual cockpits:( good looking nose areas of aircraft. I have tried to model the front of the aircraft using diviator's tutorial, but I can't seem to get the cockpit glass to look any good! The side windows look fine but I can't align the cockpit glass well enough to make it look any good. Any suggestions?Will be truely thankful for any suggestions. Is it possible to write a gauge in XML that has a changing bitmap, depending on outside air temperature? I am working on a Tomahawk panel, and, if this is possible, I have a special suprise in mind!Also, if this is possible, could you please send me the required code? Hi,I have been thinking of creating an app that draws speed tapes and simular tings. Done a few by hand and it takes and lot of time :-) I have been looking to use LineTo and MoveTo but the ticks does not split up in several ticks only one long tick. Anyone with any experience of something like this?BrgdsEugen

FYI: (so you don't make the same mistake I did :-) ).I have just finished a Pushback gauge, written in XML.In this gauge I made the mistake of using the variable BRAKE PARKING INDICATOR instead of BRAKE PARKING POSITION, to check the state of the parking brakes.INDICATOR is affected by the statement show_brakes_message=0 in the fs2002.cfg file (which suppresses the onscreen BRAKES message); when this line is present, INDICATOR is always 0 (= PB released)POSITION however, always reflects the correct state of the PB.Cheers, RobPS: The gauge is available in the library as rcbpb-10.zip; i've just uploaded rcbpb-11.zip which correct this 'bug'.

Please tell me if this looks right for aluminum. The color is 134, 138, 139, 128. I don't have an eye for color- I will believe whatever anyone tells me.Second, the same texture is used for the right and left ailerons, but for the left one it shows up transparent. Got a couple of questions regarding setting up a 2D panel. 1) Size of the "Default View". My project plane is in the startup scenario in Flight Sim. When first starting Flight Sim, the "Y" dimension is at mid screen approx., no matter what the panel config data is. If I reload the plane, (after loading a different one first) then it will size properly. See the two shots below. Current Data:X=0Y=0SIZE_X=8191SIZE_Y=4000How to fix this?2) Black tips on bitmap edges. When blaking out areas on the panel bitmap, there are black tips on the outer edge boundry between the panel and the outer view portion. Is there a way to fix this. hey,as i seen in the post aout dynamic shine there are 2 way to fix it.1. by tweaking the X file.2. 2 by using 3Ds max.Can anyone explain me how to teak the X file? wich numbers? or how to convert from gmax to 3ds max and how to save from 3ds max to X file?Cheers
