In FS98 to get an airplane to load without crashing you set the CoG height from the ground to 1665 x the landing gear height (AirEd Fuselage and Landing Gear sections.) In FS2002 aircraft.cfg this appears to be controlled by the static_cg_height parameter in the contact points section. The sdk defines it but does not tell you how to set it. I have a 727 that crashes when loading. I have set the gear parameters in the contact point section to those in the air file (converted to feet of course.) How do I set this static cg height parameter? Or is there more to it? Thanks Jim

Hi!I've benn making XML gauges now for a while and it all works fine.I wanted to make a C Gauge since a long time. But it never worked. Today, I've tried more than 2hours to compile the SDK gauge with Microsoft Visual C++ Studio 6.0.But all the time, there were 37 errors inside the gauge. What I have to say: I've deleted everything expect the Attitude Indicator.(of course in all files, so that they don't have different informations). But why are there 37 errors? Those all were syntax errors. What have I done wrong, or better, what must I do to compile a gauge in MS VS 6.0???I've first selected an empty workspace, have included the .c and .rc files, and then the makefile, wh…

When I cut and paste(C&P)in PSP ver.7 and then want to go onto another command I can't do anything because the previous C&P is still active and won't release. I save the pic in PSP format and then come back to it to try and carry on but the C&P is still active. Is there a way to release it? I have tried the Esc key etc with no luck. Thanks in advance.http://www3.telus.net/dport1/Radar_small.gifFS2K2 = The best add-on for RADAR CONTACT ver.3http://www3.telus.net/dport1/Radar_small.gifhttp://www3.telus.net/dport1/dansig.jpg

Why is it that sometimes when you Merge a revised part into a completed model that Delete Old will replace the part _in situ_ (same exact location as the old part) and other times will drop it at the visual center for the scene. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks,Steve

I have been looking through different forums for Dan Griffin. He designed the P39 panel that I would like to get permission to use. The email address that came with the panel is no longer valid. If anyone knows his whereabouts, please post. Thanks everyone, this is the last post for today!John Woodward

I have found that it is fairly straight forward to set an aircraft's weight. Aircraft weight data seems to be plentiful on the internet. However, I would like to experiment with balance by editing the CG, station and MOI variables in the aircraft.cfg file. Does anyone know of a good source for this information as it relates to commercial airliners? Thanks,Bill

Can someone take a look at this GMAX file?http://www.city-gallery.com/vpilot/control_stick5.zipIt's small, about 200K.The fore and aft animation works fine. I created a group around the two objects making up the stick and handle, then animated the group for left and right. Now, before you say this does not work, I know that creating combination movements on single objects by placing one on the object and another on the group does work with the stock animations. I've done it.Thanks,Steve

Why is it that when I paint an aircraft, the texture looks fine in Paint Shop, but when viewed in FS2k2, they are blurry? I have lots of downloaded, repainted aircraft that have crisp textures, but mine always seem fuzzy. I've used both DXTbmp and Imagetool but the results are the same. I repainted an ERJ 140 in American Eagle livery but used some of the textures from an ERJ 135. The textures I used from the 135 showed up nice and crisp, but the textures I repainted were blurry, both on the same aircraft. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.ThanksRay

Hi All,I have just been looking through the file libary and I found an hour gauge for the default FS2000 cessna. My question is would it be possible to write a gauge in XML to do this for any plane, and could it be done in such a way that it writes a file that will be read when you restart the sim.ThanksDan.

We have pistion planes, light to heavy, we've got turbine planes, light to heavy, we've got helos light to heavy, but how come we don't have a robinson R22 beta or Robsinson R44 Raven. They great helos to fly in real life, I'd love to see them designed for fs2002.

Well, the second homebuilt is gradually coming along. It's amazing how adictive this is. I find myself longing to get back to the computer so I can tweak this or try a new part. One thing that frustrates me is trying to make mass divisions to a part, such as ... say there is a box with a width of 2 segments. Not using the tessellate feature, which divides length and width, isn't there another way to add to the segment count of a part? I thought I found it once, but lost it.Thanks for any comments.Bob C.

Hi Folks, has anyone ever experimented if it is possible to illuminate the fuselage e.g. with a landing light or VC light at night? Will it stay pitch black or have a spot of light?Or is the only way of having it lit a night texture?I tried the wonderful new Fokker and felt awful seeing it sitting dark with only illuminated windows+tail on a lighted apron (No offense to designers, great job!).Just came to wonder, because some aircraft (e.g. Dreamfleet's Cardinal) have a red reflection on the elevators (or at least it looks so, great feature). Is it indeed a reflection or a texture coupled to the strobe criteria?Or, is it possible to have a whole different texture set coupl…

Hi XML-experts ...Can someone tell me if it is possible to specify XML variables from the calling panel.cfg file ??Some something like:In Panel.cfg:gauge01= example!test, 0,100,10,10, "number"And in gauge Test.xml:.... "number" (>G:Var1) .....Is this possible ?If so, how, and can you give an example ?If not, is there another way of passing info to an XML gauge (e.g. via an .ini file or alike ?(other than using L: panel-wide variables between XML gauges) Thanks in advance,Rob

Hello All:I want to clean up some areas of my Bravo, like the operation of the autopilot. Does anyone know what functions exist on the Citation Bravo autopilot? For example, does it have IAS hold and/or Mach hold? Also, does anyone have access to a graphic representation of what the autopilot controls look like? I mean the controls for setting the heading, etc., not the on/off buttons that are above the MFD. If anyone can help me with this information, I will endeavor to incorporate it in a better panel. Thanks a lot. Kaydub

After taking a 'beating' and listening to a lot of 'pissing and moaning'in various NG's about the elevator trim in the Socata TB20GT the F.A.R.T.S. team released...Look at this close up of the real elevator trim control and take careful note of the suggested T/O position... :)Even the 'Real Deal' requires a honking big hunk of negative trim!Vindication At Last! :)

I have an aircraft that does something that I don't like( regarding the way in which it rolls) -- so I put on my nice new and shiny aircraft designer cap, read up some stuff on the Internet about aircraft design and decide to alter the Dihedral and Roll MOI for this particular aircraft and see what happens. (it's called Trial and Error). So I make some significant changes to these figures in the Aircraft.cfg file using Notepad and nothing happens!! No changes to the aircrafts' dynamics is apparent!.Reading the Aircraft package SDK , it basically says that sometimes you have to use FSedit rather than just Notepad to make some changes (I agree with you here, Father Bill!)
