OK, not much so far, but I did get the project going again after a minor setback. Experimenting with trying to create decent seats, and just getting started on other various interior details. Panel is just a stand-in now for proper positioning of the center console. It will be replaced with the panel by Fabio.Oh how I love this hobby, ( when it's working ).CheersBob C.

Hallo,1. Does anyone of you knows a "string", which gives the heading, bearing to a NAV-station?2. And is it possible to use this value, eg 312, in a SET command?Something like:1. ((A:NAV1 Radians, degrees))%!3d! or bearing etc.2. (A:.......) if{ (A:NAV1 Radians, degrees) >K:Heading Set } ?????????I am curious!Janhttp://community.webshots.com/sym/image4/2...75aouncN_ph.jpg

I have been working on the Legacy project for three months, and now have reached a point where all I get is "Application Error, Program will shut down now". I have roughly 18K vertices and 25K faces, and the Gmax version is 1.02.I am using an AMD XP2700+ with 512 meg of PC2700 memory, and at least 3 gig left on the hard drive partition used for virtual mem. OS is 98SE. Smooth sailing till now.At this point it will occur when opening the file and making first visual changes, i.e. zoom, rotate view. I have taken portions of the project out to a smaller file, and it will happen again. Even tried deleting suspicious parts, no go. I am wondering if it is part related, file s…

I am needing to toggle an fx file based on whether it is daytime or nighttime. Obviously there is no existing K_event that covers this as far as I can determine, but has anyone an idea how this might be implemented?I remember from many months ago that Karl Peterson was trying to come up with a scheme that relied on using lat/lon coordinates and time-of-day, in an effort to determine the sun's current angle (or something similar), but never managed to get it to work properly.Obviously, FS2k2 itself has some way of determining this internally so it will "know" when to use night textures... but I'll be darned if I can figure out how to access this information!Any ideas, any…

I do a fair amount of panel tweaking and modification and have found it very frustrating and time consuming to "find" gauges in my gauges folder, my download folder and on the 'net according to use and visual characteristics. Many gauges are appropriately named, but many are not, many are buried in .cab files and hard to find, some come from FS2000 and FS98, etc. Has anyone put together a database of popular gauges that allows searching according to function, filename, application (aircraft type), and perhaps visual description? I'd kill for a start on such a list if one is available. How often do you recall "just the right gauge" for your application but can't rememb…

Greetings,Have just finished version 3 of the afterburner effects for the FSD T38 Talon...new AB flames XML controllednew AB panel indicatornew blue flames controlled by "exhaust temp"new dynamic jet smoke controlled by "percent N2"new wingtip vortex controlled by "G" force and "roll-rate"FSD used their "announciator" gauge to control the smokesystem,so that gauge had to be diabled to allow these new effects...If any hot-jet fanatics would like to please beta test the effectsbefore uploading, I will email you the ZIP(only 17K)..Thanks!JR

Hi All,I am wondering which parameters in the air file would be the best to change in order to improve yaw damper effectivity? The problem is with the CS 727 air file in that it has a lot of adverse yaw and tends to slide in turns even with the yaw damper on. After conversing with the B727 aircrew in the company I work at, the consensus is that the B727 is extremely stable in the vertical axis and the ball is always centered without adding any rudder input. Thanks for any input.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 Mechanic

I have two problems with my Collins DME gauge for Valmet Vinka. A finnish military trainer aircraft. There is switch with 3 positions. Km, Kmh and Min. I have code(L:DME_disp,enum) 2 == if{ 0 (>DME_disp,enum } els{ (L:DME_disp,enum) 1 + (>L:DME_disp,enum) }But the switch stays in position 2 and never goes back to 0 position. And I can't find what is wrong with it.And then string. I have this code(G:Var1)%((A:NAV1 DME, kilometer ))%!3.1f!%((A:NAV1 DMESPEED, kilometer ))%!3.1f!%((A:NAV1 DME , kilometer ))%!3.1f!And it always shows me 0.0. Where is the problem? Text tag is not well documented anywhere. Thanks for your help.Hopefully you will see complete plane from me, M…

Hey all!I am VERY NEW to gmax, and am going through the tutorials. I want to design a Diamond katana DA 100. I have 1 side pic, and the rest I can get, but...What all, if anything, is not in the gmax tutorials that I need to know in order to design a quality aircraft? Also, since there is no other katana's around the FS community (well, in Abacus Private Pilot, but it looks like crap), How would I go about building Aircraft.cfg, & *.air files from scratch? Thanks in advance, and I am SURE I will have more questions in a little while. Thanks again,

Just wondering if anyone knew how to control the gauge resolution used. I am using some default King Air gauges on a little project, and for some reason FS is using the 640 gauge bitmaps which look like crap compared to the 1024 bitmaps. Does anyone know how I can force FS to use the higher res bitmaps? Thanks in Advance,Ian Grant

Hi, I am in the middle of a new project and need to make gauges for it. I would like to use the xml format but have no clue of programming, I have time to spend and learn. They are simple gauges (well there simple as in there just airspeed, attitude gauges and other default type gauges)I would like to know what programs to use (I have fs panel studio). Is it easy to open up say the baron airspeed gauge, repaint it and recompile as a new gauge? Thanks for any help on thisAlan

Hi allI have been pulling the little bit of hair i have out over the windscreen of my current project.Does any one know of a couple of tips that might help me place a flat windscreen on a curved fuse? The way way that I have tried it was to create two rectangles and place then on the fuse. Then delete the polys that cross the rectangle and then join the 2 rectangles so they now become the windscreens. Then I try and join the fuse to the now windscreen frame with polys but the shape then distorts. and instead of the fuse being curved right up to the windscreen it is flat.please help... i am looking for a couple of steps that might help me to overcome this. one other question…
