Hi,I'm looking for some information on producing vector gauges with the FS2k2 SDK. The panel/gauges SDK documentation doesn't seem to cover this at all. Does anyone know where I could find a tutorial or some documentation on this subject? Thanks in advance for any assistance that you can offer.-Shaun

Hi,I am working with my autopilot and logic behind it is quite complex :-)The autopilot has two ap buttons ap1 and ap2.The are a number of rules directing if posible to click and the actions taken. If you are on ground only one autopilot can be engaged if one engine is running and only one engine. However you can also toggle between ap1 and ap2.If you are airborn you can toggle between ap1 and ap2. The only case when both ap1 and ap2 can be engaged at the same time is when approach is active. The code below is quite complex and I was thinking of adding as well three hold events. The code only deals with the ap1 and ap2 lights Could this be done in a simpler way?The code for…

Start the succesor of my gmax 747 in 3dsmax. In 3ds max, i'll be able to more accurately design the babies. Fuse will have around 2000 more polys than the previous 742 model, but will be alot more accurate in any area. New wings will take advantage of md11 building technique, and will certainly have less polys than the previous models. This time i use two spheres one above the other, that have been deformed and extruded. Then, simply play with ffd's and vertices. The old model was more a pain to design than this one. Next step is rear fuse...below are 742-sp & 743-744 fuses with boeing guides (available at boeing.com)

I'm flying Bill Lyons' Cessna Bobcat, a wonderful aircraft, but a little short in range. I'd like to add a central fuel tank of 55 gallons. I know it is easy to increase fuel capacities, but how would one go about adding a whole new tank? And any suggestions for a gauge which would be in that range? Thanks in advance ;)-- SMP

Hello, just a quick question. And I apologize if this has been covered before or if im in the wrong forum - please advise. The problem is the plane I am flying has working nav lights and beacon but the panel assigned has no switches for them. I can always switch to another aircraft turn them on and then switch back, but this can be a pain. My question is are there keyboard commands that can turn these particular lights on and off?? I have looked at the key assignment menu and did not see anything for them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!Geno

Okay, I DL a 757, and it looks all nice a pretty and it has the default 777 panel. So I thought I should be okay. Well I went to fly it and low and behold either the AP doesn't engage, or my controller isn't working properly... so I went to another aircraft and my controller works okay. Why then do I not have control over this aircraft. It seems to want to climb, even if I push the stick completely forward. What do I need to change to get over this???? Thanks for the help. Jeff :-vuur <-----unfortunately that is exactly what happens. (crash and Burn...lol)

Also is it avalable for download from anywhere or maybe some one would just email it to me...Well, i would appreciate any info about this.Cheers

Hello All Today i made some chages to the CFG file using FSedit... minor things, like travel angle for the ailerons... Now what is happening is that whenever the airplane accelerates to about 72 kts during the take-off roll my nose gear falls through the pavement and the mains detach from the pavement. After this the plane skids across the rwy and completely goes out of control...The only way i was able to fix this situation was restoring the original air file from backup. Now, has anyone heard of anything like this to happen? Is this the FSedit that is crrupting my air file? or is there anything else that might cause this? Also, if i use the notepad to adjust the values …

I am attempting to make a Turbine Engine RPM gauge for a turboprop aircraft and I have been unable to find a token variable that works properly.I have tried the several of the RPM related variables but have not had any luck.Specifically I am attempting make a working gauge with an rpm range of 0 - 16,000 rpm. I had thought about using an N1 variable to simulate the RPM range but unfortunately that provides a 0-100 % variable instead of an RPM range.Does anyone out there have any ideas of what I might want to try?Sarnac

Does anyone know if it would be posible to increase and decrease a L: variable enum, much like autopilot or radio settings? I.E. one click spot to increase, on spot to decrease. All I can do at the moment is make a click spot set the enum. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.Ian Grant

The panel is designed for users who would like a simplified, more intuitive panel for the A320 based largely on default gauges but incorporating a few nice updates (used by permission). Hi this ones baffling me a bit. I'll describe the situation. I'm using gMAX.Whenever I use an alias line in the panel.cfg file both f_canopy_XXX & r_canopy_XXX animations work fine. But I then created some XML gauges to control both engine smoke and afterburner. To add these I copy + pasted the details in another panel.cfg file (the Lear45) and added the following lines:[Vcockpit01]Background_color=0,0,0size_mm=256,256position=7visible=0pixel_size=256,256texture=$hudgauge00=DSBXML!DSBTornadoReheat, 1,1,1,1gauge01=DSBXML!DSBTornadoSmoke, 1,1,1,1No only the main exit is animated. When I do the Shift + E + 2 it seems as if the rear canopy has been fogotten about and it…

Arne, Jan, and anyone else who may be interested: Another nagging question from me . I want to apply more than one click action to my mouse areas for my engine starters. I would like to use an L: variable, enum for display and click conditions, but I want to also give the positions events as well, like MIXTURE1_LEAN to apply functions to my knob. I was wondering how this would be layed out in the area. Would you just put them in back to back like:0 (L:L STRTR,enum)or is there something special I would need to do for this. (of course with the cursor type an all)Many thanks in advance,Ian Grant

[h5] Just trying to figure out all the view options and was wondering what some of these mean and what exactly do they "set"?1] KEY_VIEW1_MODE_SET Actually it's 1 & 2; What defines view 1 or 2? In the panel cfg? And how would one use this in a simple xml gau?2] KEY_VIEW_MODE Lost on this one too,3] KEY_VIEW ???4] KEY_VIEW_TYPE, KEY_VIEW_TYPE_SET Seems like my # 1,2,3Another thing maybe Arne can help me with. Event IDs are not explained anywhere, so unless you have been told what this and that does and just how you use or express it in your xml, you are just guessing. Some of the items are clear but how one would use a certain key event is not. …

Hi all,I'm trying to make a set of xml gauges for fuel pumps and fuel valves swithces for my ATR72 overhead panel. 1- For the fuel valve, I used the TOGGLE_FUEL_VALVE_ENG1 event and the GENERAL ENG1 FUEL VALVE variable. The gauge responds OK to the valve status (checked by assigning keystroke to the fuel pump), but the mouse clicks seems to do nothing.2- For the fuel pump, I used TOGGLE_ELECT_FUEL_PUMP1 event, and the GENERAL ENG1 FUEL PUMP ON variable. The gauge is completely frozen in OFF position.Has anyone succeeded with these variables/ event ids.? Any known issuesw with turboprops? (I placed the Beechcraft fuel pump gauge in my panel and doesn't work either). Any he…

Greetings, I've been trying for the last day to learn how to build up my own Citation X since there aren't any up to date technology models or textures available in any of the freeware sites. I've found G-max 3d modeling hard for newbies on the area like myself, but hour to hour I managed to add little bits to the plane...maybe one day it'll be finished. In the meantime I was wondering if any other designers, more experienced of course, are planning on a 3D model no matter what design tool used for that Cessna Citation X so I don't have to fly the oldie one around. Thnx,TavoPS-here's a little pic of my work so farhttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/6507.jpg
