Hi!I try to create a speed trend vector, but without real success. I need the acceleration value for the calculation which is not given me by the flight simulator. So I compared the current airspeed with the airspeed one cycle before, this works, but it is not smooth at all.Tried it with ground_velocity, but also no success. Can someone tell me how to create a really smooth speed trend display? Do you use an interpolation routine?Kind Regards,M. Burr

So I spent a large chunk of the day working on my pilot figure with fair success. When I went to the sim to check out my work I discovered that now I cannot click on anything in the VC! It all worked fine last night, and I got no errors when exporting today. The animations work fine when I use the keyboard. Any ideas?Robert

MSFS display system - the scenery arcs - and panel design. You might reasonably expect this information to be anchored at the top of every MSFS panel design forum, but unfortunately it seems that few have understood why it matters. Although this post answers a nearby question I have taken the liberty of starting a new thread so that this post is easy to find using a search engine; whether for consultation or disputation.Angles in MSFS are coded in radians not degrees. Provided the display is full screen and an 8:6 resolution is invoked;1) The horizontal displayed scenery arc is 0.8 radians2) The vertical displayed scenery arc is 0.6 radians3) Zoom = 1 is the only zoom fac…

Hi All,I'm working on a Gear Warning Horn Cutout, but with no success. It has no bitmaps involved, just an area (mock button) on the throttle quadrant to push. What I want is to have the ability to shut off the warning horn. The gear warning horn is enabled in the air.cfg and air file.Any help will be greatly appreciated. Here is what I currently have:(A:Circuit Gear Warning On, bool) ! (>A:Circuit Gear Warning On, bool)

i would like to know if/how to decrease fuel with an xml gauge.i am tring to simulate burner augmentation. the aircraft does not use the fs9 burner rather a % rpm setting. the flow rate with burners is not nearly high enough. hoping i do not have to go to the air file which is pretty much a mystery to me. but if thats the only option i can use airupdate i found; Record: 1505 Turbine CN2 vs fuel flowcan i add points?

I'd like to include myself as the pilot of my plane. I have a digital camera, PSP-9, and GMAX. Early attempts are promising but distorted, and I'm hoping someone can enlighten me before I spend a lot of time and beer on this...Thanks!RobertMe in the real-life versionhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128954.jpg

What is wrong ?<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>I made a model of a simple building in GMax, following tutorial, and exported as scenery model. Got two files (.xml and .mdl). The .xml is listed above. I removed the comment header and trailler and compiled with bglcomp.exe. Put the .bgl in AddOnScenery, added to library, etc, but the building does not arise in scenery. Anybody sees something wrong ?Jose

Hello! I got some nice views for a plane I like (Saab Draken), but I can't use it in G-max because it is all at odd angles. I was hoping someone with photoshop or any other editing tool can spend 3 minutes getting them all straight instead of slanted. At the minimum I want front, left, top and bottom views. On the other hand, if MS Paint has a way to do it, I can do it myself, but so far no such luck- It's just got 90 or 180 degree rotations.http://www.airwar.ru/other/draw/j35.htmlEdit- Nevermind- I did a bit of experimenting(I tried before, but I guess I was in a bad mood or something..) And i got it. Well, at least you now know where to go for Draken 3-views... lol.

Hi 3D builder I am tryng to animate in Gmax the yokeStick like the elicopter,In reading the forum the method is to place a dummy box and rename it lever_stick_fore_aft_01, animate it on frame 0 to fore movement 50 idle and 100 Aft, after that place a 3D stick modeled a named lever_stick_l_r_01 with the pivot point at same place of the box pivot point animate it left 0 idle 50 right 100.Now I have linked the 3D stik to the box and the box link to interior or extirior. When I run FS the 3d stick only mouve left and right but no Fore and Aft .I try several time but no succes I olso revert the movement wich work but on the 2 axis .Any idea what's wrong.Thank's for suggestion

After making several models in X-Plane, I am working on building one of my aircraft for MSFS. I have completed the basic fuselage/wing package in Gmax and want to be sure I can save it to an .mdl file before I go any further. So far, I can't.I was sure to use the version of Gmax provided on the MS disk, so it would have the export function enabled. I have loaded Gmax into a root folder on my C: drive. I placed the makemdl .exe in the plug-ins folder. But when I try to browse for my .gmax model in the dialogue box that pops up on clicking "export", it does not recognize any .gmax models. If I type in the model name (C:Gmaxscenesxlnt11f.gmax), a dialogue replies that it doe…

I don't seem to be able to get my fuel valve to turn. It works in Gmax (keyframe animation), but won't turn in the sim. I've tried several tags, but no luck. The throttle and mixture controls work well. Any ideas?Robert

would it,in your esteemed opinions,be very hard to implement that in a certain aircraft?i basically want something like the PSS dash 8 and Frolov dash 8 have,i.e,at the touch of a button my aircraft holds roll and pitch.I personally think it might be harder as i think it is,thus i'm asking what you guys think, especially since,as far as i know, both planes have a custom built autopilot.nevertheless,i find it very handy,so i thinki'm still going to explore the possibilities, even though i haven't designed anything yet.cheersJP.

Hello everyone,First of all, a little background about my question. I have been designing AI aircraft for quite a while and I'm interested in incorporating static ground vehicles into my models. I am using FSDS2. I would like these ground vehicles to:1)show up 15 minutes prior to departure and 15 minutes after arrival2)disappear when the AI aircraft pushes back (before departure).I have no problem with making (1) work since I can use Display Conditions to link their appearance to the NAV lights ON/OFF variable. However, it is (2) that I'm having trouble with. What variable can I use to determine when the AI acft pushes back? The ones that came to mind are:-state of parking…

Hi,I would like to add the RealityXP 530 GPS to the virtual cockpit of the Aeroworx beautiful B200 King Air.The pertinent panel.cfg entry is:[Vcockpit04]Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=512,512visible=0pixel_size=512,512texture=$B200_VC_KLN90Bgauge00=RealityXP_FL530XP!GNS530, 0,0,508,352Yet the result is shown in the screenshot. I need to enlarge the gauge in the y direction (down). I was playing around with the numbers attached to the gauge (0,0,508,352) but not with much success. I guess the problem is with the entry "texture=$B200_VC_KLN90B"; probably it hasn

For LAT1 I've tried radians, number, degrees latitude with no success for any. (A:PLANE LATITUDE, degrees latitude) (>L:LAT1, radians)%((L:LAT1, radians))%!s!All help appreciated,Glenn

i put a panel out on the fsfreeware site. one of the downloaders is getting a crash when he uses the 'w' mini panel key. i can not replicate the crash on my puter and was wondering if someone ( that knows panel cfg.s would download the panel and see if they can get the crash and figure out why. the panel is in perpetual revision.( obsesive compulsive disorder no doubt) i keep an updated version at www.stormlords.comthanks in advance stevenif you use fsps to open the cfg. it will re-write out 2 of the 3 down views. you will have to put them back manualy VIEW_DOWN_WINDOWS=37,38,39

Hi All,I'm trying to get an Autobrake gauge to light a bitmap when the RTO is selected and after 10 seconds it will extinguish or go off and not come back on until reselected. It should be able to be reselected or every time I go from any of the other selections ( off, 1, 2, 3, max)and if I go back to RTO it will light up again for 10 seconds and go off again. Any help will be greatly appreciated. It's basically a timing problem. I know this code isn't correct but here is what I have now.Benny(A:AUTO BRAKE SWITCH CB, enum) 1 < (P:Absolute Time, seconds) 10 &&
