I've been modifying a panel (Maule) to add some IFR equipment and other customizations. After much work, I thought I had what I wanted, until this evening when I was flying at dusk and turned the cabin lights on. One of the gauges (a realityxp vor2 gauge) just up and disappears, the gauge bitmaps on a couple of others (also realityxp) do not merge well with the panel bmp, and only the pointers are visible in others (airspeed, vertical speed, and altimeter all borrowed from the cessna 182).Altogether a real mess.I know absolutely nothing about how nightlighting is effected through the panel bitmap. In restoring the original panel, none of the original gauges themselves …

In my FlightSim directory I have a file with contents like the one below. Does anyone know where I can find documentation for that file. Perhaps in an SDK? [Main]Title=Description=AppVersion=9.0.30612FlightVersion=1[Tower]Latitude=N047

Hi guys,I need some help with a HUD I am modifying for personal use. No matter what I do I can't seem to be able to align the velocity vector to the center of the HUD. It seems that the very left side of its bitmap won't go past the centerline of the HUD's main background bitmap. I am only new to this XML stuff and can't seem to find info in any of the tut's. Help would be greatly appreciated - I have attached part of the XML code and a piture of the problem.Cheers.

Must say I am no expert at this, so would appreciate people avoiding telling me that I am being stupid. As if anyone would be so unkind!! :-)I've always found that having to go back to panel view from spot view when I need to make aquick alteration to the Autopilot a bit of a pain - and FS9 doesn't like swapping backwards and forwards in this way either. So I thought I would add a small autopilot panel which would appear at the top of the screen in spot view when I press F9.In fact, I use a Nostromo N52 keypad, so have engineered all my panel.cfg files (yes, after backing up the previous versions) so that when I press the same key on the pad, I get the little autopilot p…

couple of givens...its a great gauge! using to simulate augmentation fuel burn, and with out learning the airfile i don't know that i could have done it any other way. other given...im a hopeless OCD and have been thinking, with all tanks selected the gauge is reality, but if you set the fuel selector to a particular tank, then i have the dump from only that tank. that means with 6 tanks the fuel tank selector lets me cheat the burner consumption by 83%. is there a way to make the percent dump dynamic? like lvaring the amount in the ini ( dont know squat about ini )can i use more then one dump gauge?( change the lvars so no conflict) then use a differnt dump gauge depende…

Greetings,I have some questions about the elevators effectivity part of the .air file section 341. I have the AMM with the updated .ini file. What I am trying to achieve is with an ELEVATOR_UP_LIMIT of 1.5 and an ELEVATOR_DOWN_LIMIT of 9.5 I am trying the get the plane to get about +6 G's and -4 G's with a rate of speed of around 500 kts. I read the notes above the graph, but I don't understand what the graph is telling me. I played around with some numbers and made different things happen, but I don't know what I am doing. The aircraft is Rick Sasala's A-6 Intruder, and I am trying to get it to fly correctly with all the perameters out of the Navy flight manual. Any sugg…

Dear AllI'm having trouble getting this to work. I assume it'sprobably a configuration issue on my end, but it seemsstraight forward enough. Maybe someone can tell me what might be wrong.I looked in the various forum contributions, I tried all combinations I can think off, but with no success. I just cannot figure out what is wrong in my setup. The function I try to achieve looks qiute simple. Here is my issue.I am using dsd_xml_sound2.gau from Doug Dawson and I just want to hear a click-sound when I activate a taxi light switch in a cessna test panel. Doug's Gauge:-----------Standard: "dsd_xml_sound2.gau" placed into the main FS Gauges-Folder.The sound.wav file placed i…

I had someone write to me today:"I was flying on VATSIM this evening and realized that my radio... would not tune to the tower frequency I needed. The frequency was 132.12 however, the skydeck panel would tune in increments of .10,.13,.15,.17,.20 etc. All my other panels tune in increments of .10, .12, .15, .17, .20 etc. Can anyone shed any light on this? I hope to not have another "can't get to that frequency" episode on VATSIM again."I've only heard of something like this once before, and I'm wondering if this has anything to do with an .xml vs. .gau issue. If so, why is this happening? ...a bug perhaps?

I am making a panel for the embraer 170 by dreamwing, and have made all the gauge using XML, The problem I have is the autothrottles. When autopilot is set for 250 or lower the throttles rev up and down.I have no idea what is causing this problem so any help would be greatfully received.

Hello, Experts!Once again, I'm in need of your guidance! I'm working on an EICAS gauge, using GDI+. I'm not 100% certain the best way to animate the needles (N1, EGT) using GDI+. Also, it would have to be in such a way that I could fill the area between 0%N1 and whatever the current setting is. I've thought of using a closed curve but haven't had too much luck making them turn out just right. A do...until loop has also crossed my mind... Basically I'm wondering how to draw the needles to be manipulated by the token variable. Thanks!Matt

Hi!I have little experience in working with XML and gauges although I work with Flash programming and web design. I would very much appreciate some advice on a problem I am having!I am in the process of building a hardware panel for a SAAB 105, but there are a few custom electricity and fuel pump gauges that the designers has created. There are no default events for these, so I can't trigger these with a keyboard command. This means I can't get them to work with the hardware panels either. Unfortunately, I can't use Key2Mouse to circumvent this problem. However, I was thinking about a possible solution, where the gauges are modified so that they are looking for the status …

I am working on a gauge that limits the nose gear movement, and even blocks it when the aircraft reaches a certain ground speed limit.I know how to do this, but the problem is that the nose gear is linked to the rudder, so (as far as I know) blocking the nose gear can only be done by blocking also the rudder.I would like to have the nose gear blocked and the rudder free of movement, just like in the real aircraft.Do you know how to do this? Thanks.Eric

Hi,I'm having a weird problem. Perhaps someone might have some insight:I'm returning as a string the two variables below from the MS SDK:DAY_OF_MONTH CURRENT_MONTH Everything works fine when I'm in the US or the UK or France. Day and Month are correct.HOWEVER, if I'm in Italy or Greece, the returned values are not correct. The code is dead simple. I'm just returning the two variables.I know MS has a prob with Timezones, so I used FS Real Time, but no change.Any ideas, or does MS just have a problem with Southern European countries? Thanks,Bryan

Couple of questions:1. In the aircraft.cfg file, do [lights] entries have to be added in sequential order - i.e. can any share the same entry number, such as:light.12 =2, ...... (etc.)light.13 =4, ...... (etc.)light.13 =4, ...... (etc.)light.14 =3, ...... (etc.)If this is possible, under what circumstances?2. Is it the case, as I have read somewhere, that FS9 ignores anything added after light.18 ?Many thanks for the help!Martin

HiWe need a gauge programmer to finish KC135-T panel. Only 3 more gauges are needed to finish our plane/panel project: Throttle Panel, Engine Low Oil Pressure and Engine Start Panel. All the bitmaps and coordinates are ready. We already published KC135-E plane/panel and you can check our work at: http://home.comcast.net/~chuckgrimes/We would really apreciate any help with finishing this project. If you are interested, please reply here or email me: [email protected]

Would it be possible to attach a wav file in some manner to AI jets, and for that matter any AI planes, to have a takeoff engine sound? What would be involved in triggering a wav file after say the aircraft has lined up on the runway and starting to roll.Could this be some way programmed into the aircraft.cfg? Maybe it's not possible as it may have to be hard-coded into FS.It would be really neat to have this I think. I have a great wav file sent to me by a buddy. It sounds very realistic but you have to manually start the wav file. Thanks,Adam

Greeting to all.The A-6 Intruder (my passion) had a "shifted" flight control system, that when the flaps are up you get a much smaller control surface throw. For example with the flaps up the rudder only moves 4 degs and when the flaps are out of the 0 detent, you get 35 degs. I have tried several different thiings in the aircraft .cfg file but no joy. I have also looked through the MS Air Container SDK for any new language that might help, but no joy there aswell. Any suggestions? Many Thanx, Christopher.

In reading many EULA's, most authors, if not all, spell out the laundry list of what can not be done with their FS creations whether it be in modeling, panel, sound, texture, gauge etc., without the express consent of the author. A question in regards to this.1. Would this apply to altering or modifying a file within a program for one's own personal use, with no further intentions for sharing this file with anyone else? Reason I ask is that I have two particular programs, one panel and one gauge, that I think would yield a VERY nice result, but it would require repositioning and mixing of individual gauges to an already modified panel by another 3rd party author.I have se…

Hi. I hope this is the right forum on which to post my question...I downloaded the above file from AVSIM, along with a full cabin textures pack (emiratesvirtualcabin773.zip). The combination is excellent, but there is no Virtual Cockpit. In VC view, I get nothing (i.e. cockpit view minus the cockpit!). The file says that I can use Active Camera to go back and explore the very detailed cabin - which is possible, but the view I get is as on the screenshot - can't imagine that this is how things were intended and would be left.I tried e-mailing the creator, but the e-mail address doesn't work. Just posting this here in the hope that someone can tell me if there is a VC that…
