I was checking around at airports and noticed that some don't have the green centerline lights on the taxiways. Des Moines International was the first location. The yellow taxi lines are visibible but no lights. KMCI is a little bit bigger than KDSM and has the green lights. Shouldn't all airports have these lights?

Trying to go to http://www.fsgenesis.com but their website seems to be down or is it just me...?

Hello all. So I'm trying to teach somebody the basics of flying using the shared cockpit feature of FSX, and we keep hitting a problem. The first problems are loading times - his system took an hour and a half (I exaggerate not) to load the flight. Is this because he lives in the United States and I live in the United Kingdom, or is there an underlying problem? Apparently it never took anything LIKE that length of time offline. The other problem was an interesting and curious one. After this extortionate wait, the cockpit flashed onto screen briefly for him, maybe for a few seconds, then it went back to loading textures (i.e. black screen, white progress box, etc…

Hi, I'm fairly new to FSX and am using the standard aircraft. The problem I have is that the aircraft e.g 172 does not have the instrument lit up? Is this a problem that I ought to be able to sort out, or is it a case of purchasing an aircraft? Best regards, Ken

Hi certain of my aircraft like the Posky 737-8 and Thomas Ruth DC-10 don't show external textures at night. I did a search for this but the only thing I could find was perhaps running FSX in win vista mode but am not able to do so. I have Win 7 32 and ATI Radion 5450. The wings are visible but most of the plane is invisible at night. Thanks.

After you install the theme for REX 2.0 is it mandatory to run rex while running fsx?I mean i just start FSX from REX " I just want to fly " menu . Or can i just install the theme then X out of rex an start fsx normally i mean rex weather engine still comes up even when am not running REX.

Hello flight-enthusiasts, does anybody know if it is possible to open the catering doors on the right main-deck of the POSKY 737 series. I'm not talking about the lower cargo-doors, those are working... Or is this not animated / supported by POSKY? Thanks!

Hello there, I am having problems with my ground textures and can't find out what is causing this. This also happens on a fresh installation of FSX. The problem remains if all scenery is disabled (the few I added). I have only found one thread on the Internet with someone having this problem but unfortunately no solution. Hi all, I have three questions regarding the FS2X G1000 simulator 1. Is it any good? i.e. more or less complete than the one in the F1 Mustang? 2. Is the support any good? I see the version is current as of March this year, but their forum is "closed". Bit worried about support going forward. 3. I know it can be integrated into the Quest Kodiak and a couple of default FSX planes "natively", but can I use FSPanel Studio to stick it in other panels as I currently do with the RXP GNS-WAAS and Wx units? Title says it all. I have been looking at the plethora of Citation I, II and X and Mustang available from Eaglesoft; Flight1 and various others, and also the VLJ from Lionheart.. I would like a medium-range (1200-1800NM) biz jet with a fair bit ofcargo- carrying ability (for Air hauler) and a good, well realised fully-working VC (I mean ALL of it!) I don't mind having to read a manual to get the thing in the air; I don't really want to spend >$49 for a semi-real rendition but don't mind paying it for modelling super-realism (not so bothered about how accurate to the last decimal place the flight model is, as I'll never fly one in RL, but really want fully w…

I'm considering buying this plane since it seems to offer high degree of model simulation together with good looking panels at a reasonable price. I would particulary be interested in hearing from people who has flewn this plane in both FSX and FS9 and also the Leonardo Maddog (which I already have). I wonder of the FSX version is native FSX or just the FS9 version made compatible with FSX. The latter is from what I have heard bad for performence in FSX. My experience with the Maddog is that it struggles with performence. What are your impressions of Fokker? Well spent money?

Hi all, I'm new here so if i posted in the wrong spot just move it to where it belongs! I am running FSX Deluxe (can't install SP1 or SP2 due to memory issues) on a Compaq C700 presairo with vista basic and about 10GB of memory and Intel celeron, When I start a Recording program like camstudio and try to record on FSX it comes up with 3-4fps on the default aircraft and down to 1-2fps on some add-ons anything you recommend? And where are the Videos that you record using the default recorder on FSX? and are they even a usable file? Thanks in advance!

Years ago on my old install I tried a mesh, and it totally ruined the experience for me. I would land the trike on a beach only to find it was really water or vice versa. The mesh conflicted with scenery. Also many airbases were on crazy plateaus. I know there was a way to edit an airbase.. But I do not want to edit 10000 airbases, I fly to a new airbase every flight I don't do regular routes. So.. Over the last 5 years has the situation changed? Are the new FS Global and Genesis etc without these issues or do they still exist? My ORBX works well without mesh but I have some spare disk space now and mountain detail would be nice But I jus…

I'm not sure if it's my setup or what but the weather I'm seeing from FSX default is not even close to the current metar anyone else having issues today?... FSX in game: Current metar: KDLH 271655Z 10013KT 1/4SM R09/1000V1200FT FG VV001 09/09 A2982 The reason why I'm not using a third party program like RealWxLite is because their program doesn't turn on the FSX approach lights for some reason with bad weather.

I am about ready to buy the US Terrain Mesh for FSX. I see that FS Genesis has a download version and a DVD version. The DVD version is supposed to have better vertical resolution (.25) as compared to the download version (.50). I assume that means .25 meter vs .50 meter. Will this be all that noticeable? I assume that the extra $20 that I would have to spend for the DVD version might be best spent elsewhere? Any thoughts would be welcomed.

the buildings have gone at KSFO and KLAX. I installed Rex Overdrive (not the newly released version) but don't see how that could make a difference. Both airports are fsdreamteam, but I'm thinking it's more of a general problem. There dosn't seem to be anything above the airports in the scenery list that could affect them, just Orbx stuff. Has anyone experienced this?

I only use full screen mode in my sim and I started using FSX a couple of days ago. Initially my kneeboard could be visualised normally when i pressed F10 in the virtual cockpit. Now, for some unknown reason, when I press F10, the kneeboard does not appear in the full screen mode but if I window FSX, I find my kneeboard on the desktop. Could anybody guide me to rectify this please? Thank you.

I've been having this issue for awhile but it seems to have picked up more recently. The problem is that SOMETIMES not all the time, when I arrive at an airport for instance either a texture for some buildings might be missing, some AI traffic will be missing there textures, and more common the runway numbering/markings will be totally missing. The only way I can get them to load back in is to restart the game. Not a huge game breaker but it is disappointing to land into PASI without any runway markings and half the buildings missing. Also to note, even if the painted markings are missing, all the rubber marks and the actual asphalt texture will still be there. N…
