In the Seattle area, FSX default ATC is telling everyone (myself and AI) to descend to "0" until established on the localizor. It only happens in this area. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I'm using Ultimate Traffic II. Also using Orbx Pacific Northwest.

Realistically I care more about seeing the proper airplanes when on vatsim (and Pilot edge - i can edit them)...right now I get a bunch of triangles and vip models using Squawkbox 4. I don't want WOAI because some aren't native models.. I've read a little bit and my debate is between F1's UT2 and MyTraffic x Pro 5.4A I want to know which ai models are friendlier on performance, and do both programs make the planes park at proper real world terminals/gates? GA airplanes would be nice as I believe MTX has them but UT2 doesn't? I don't like seeing default planes, will these packages replace the default AI with different models OR will I still have defaullt A…

Where would one be able to find these liveries? Ive been browsing around but haven't found real liveries yet.

I have an Intel E7400 running at 2.8 GHZ and I am using an EVGA GTX 460 1GB video card. I can run the PMDG MD-11 at about 15 FPS and the PMDG 747 at about 12 FPS. These are steady frame rates without stuttering and actually very flyable on my system. Do you think I will be able to get similar results with the PMDG J41?

Can anyone explain to me how fsx sequences fuel flow - in particular on aircraft without any apparent fuel tank selectors. I have been using the Overland MD11 for some time now but have suddenly been hit with the following problem: Initially fuel is taken only from the Left tank and when that is empty the no1 engine stops but can be restarted and then runs okay. When the Right tank empties the no3 engine stops and again can be restarted. This problem has only occured since I installed FSLabs Concorde X but I fail to see how that can have caused the problem. It would seem that any 'multi tank' aircraft now suffers from unbalanced fuel flow. I cannot see…

Because I have just spent the last 5 days re installing W7 + FSX + 150GB of addons etc, and have just discovered that all I needed to have done was move one item in the scenery library up 2 notches and the ntdll error I was getting in the USA only would have been fixed. Having a very understanding wife helped, I told her that FSX must, at all costs be back up and running ASAP, so she would have to mow the lawns and wash the car. The Doctors at the hospital were great and were able to extract the frying pan from my head with little dis comfort. And when I got home, my clothes were neatly laid out on the front lawn. Hi I've just formated my entire SSD-harddrive and made a clean install of FSX on it. Now, while flying with for example with NGX, my texture loading seems rather slow when comparing it to my previous flight with this SSD, before formating it. First time posting here, a co-worker from work recommended me to this site for some help on using FSX. It's a great site to help me further enjoy playing FSX and get the most out of it. I've been using FSX off-and-on for the past few months, but lately I've been using it more and more, and I do prefer some realism when using it. I've got the taxing and take-offs down somewhat, but my landings typically are more "dropping out of the sky" than a smooth, competent attempt. My main issues are (1) finding out the correct distance from the runway to start decending, (2) how I decend, and (3) trying to land too close and too high from the runway. Does anyone have any idea what this is, and how to get rid of it? I have just recently discovered this anomaly, and it's only of full screen view that I get it. I'm referring to the two white vertical lines with a green chunk in the centre of them, with blocked letters SL at the left of the full display. The green chuck between the two veticlal bars will expand up and down with screen activity. It's almost like a diagnostic tool? This is a 3 x 23" monior display, set up in Nvidia surround mode using 2x GeForce GTX560 Ti in SLI. Latest drivers, 301.42. I'm not sure if it's an FSX thing, or a hardware issue, or a driver issue. Hi want to know if there is any good throttle joystick out there so i can buy it . Am looking for just the throttle not the joystick with movement an so on. Its kind of wierd they don't have one with the complete reverse thrust an so on . Or then again maybe they do . I really don't know so i just type throttle joystick in ebay an i haven't found none that i like . So anyone has some recommendation for a nice good throttle joystick ?

I recently rediscovered a freeware Piper Cherokee Warrior II I'd installed in FSX about a year ago, and decided to fly it today from KPSP to KSLC. I was very happy with its performance because it "felt" very similar to one of the Piper Cherokee Warriors I trained in, and it behaved accordingly. Unfortunately it has a 2 degree bank to the right that I can't correct. Ground taxiing is a bit bothersome because the airplane insists on veering to starboard with even a little throttle power. Hi Everyone, I recently changed from a Nvidia 460 to a GTX580. The card works fine with the exception that none of my "shift + windows", work anymore. When I try to pop up one of these windows I see the "frame", of the window for a split second, and then disappears. I have tried from the 275 to 301 series drivers using a clean install each time. The result is always the same. I have also tried these drivers combined with different versions and setting in Nvidia inspector. Same results except that with the 301.** series I get stutters and pauses and FSX shut down. This is a problem I have never seen, nor heard of. I am no guru. Any help or suggestion on how to fi…

Hi all- Just wondering what your favorite textures are for use with Active Sky. I know a lot of people love the REX clouds; over the years I've seen plenty of clouds mentioned in the Library, but have never tried any. (Even the default FSX clouds look pretty good now, I assume that's because of the more complex presentation.) Hi everyone, I recently traveled to and from KMEM, and both visits was astounded by the number of FedEx planes that sit in the "WorldPort" everyday, awaiting their loads. Wanting to see if this was accurately simulated in FSX, I loaded a flight that started at one of the many gates that FedEx owns...what a surprise, no FedEx planes. After checking my WOAI installed packages, I found I actually did not have a single FedEx package, as the one on their (WOAI's) website state they are "Feeders". So should I just install the 6 or so FedEx packages from WOAI and hope some mainline jets are included, or is there another package somewhere else?

I recently purchased the JS 31 from Virtualcol (Flightsim Deal of the Day). Spent a while looking through the manual and going step by step through the checklist--sometimes I got an engine started and sometimes not. If I did get an engine started it was hard to keep it running. Yesterday I got both started (don't know I did anything different). Had a time taxiing to the runway but finally managed to get it on the center line for takeoff. Took off and made it to 8,000 when both engines shutdown. Tried numerous restarts without success. Figured I'd share since I just got this working last week. I've been fed up for a while now watching the Piper Cub and Maule M7 taxi ridiculously around airports because they turn so wide they miss taxiways and can't properly pull into some parking locations at airports where they are packed in tight. Most default airports the parking isn't a problem but if you space them to real-world dimensions you start seeing issues with the taxiway being too close to the parking space for the Cub and M7 to turn fully in without getting "lost" and wandering around in big circles for a while before pulling in or just coming close and shutting down wherever.
