Built a new coputer with an i7 processor and a couple of SSDs and tried to reinstall FSX. Loaded both discs, install looked good, entered my product key, and got an activation succesful message. All good right? When I started the game I got a popup stating something to the effect that the license was invalid, did I want to generate a new key. I assumed this meant I would be prompted to enter my key (one day I'll learn to never assume anything). When I clicked OK a popup appeared immediatedly saying "License Required!". Click OK and it pops up right away. Clicked OK again, and again, and again and after the fifth or sixth time it went away and the game loaded to the…

I apologize if this is not the correct forum. What is the best way to make a movie from FSX? I'm not too concerned with titles and/ or effects, this is for personal stuff only, not a blockbuster . My grandsons ( 7 and 4) have inherited my passion for aviation, and I would like to send them a movie of grandad "flying" something cool...l Thanks, Bruce.

Well having just fixed a CTD problem I now have bad sound stutters in FSX. It seems to be caused by my 2 month old Speedlink Black Widow joystick. If I un plug it and plug in my old faithfull CH Fighter stick it stops, soon as I plug the B.Widow back in the stutters start again, how weird is this !? Dont even know where to start on a fix for this, any ideas ? Thanks, Buster.

Hey gents, does anyone know if its possible to get the cockpit view controls of MS Flight, which in my opinion are really good, to work in FSX? I am particularly referring to the eyepoint panning with the middle mouse button. I have already tried it with X-Mouse button control. However, I can't assign the direction of mouse movement (x & y axis) to a specific command. Help! Cheers

Talking about the airport at Catalina of Aerosoft's LA city scenery, I remembered one of my fav airport with sloped runway for FS9. I forgot what it was called. I went to Aerosoft's forum and posted (asked) what it was called,. and I got an answer with a link to this http://forum.aerosof...showtopic=36413 This nice little airport had been released as a freeware and I didn't know about it until now. I have the Aerosoft's Germany 1 (II) scenery which covers the Frankfurt EDDF area and this airport as well... where this one would fit nicely. Even after reading through all the posts on the topic, I realize I'm not sure how to use Opus "side-by-side" with REX 2.0 or AS2012. As it happens, I have both of them. I've never really used REX, but do use AS2012 all the time to ensure my sim weather is synced-up with the real world. I understand that we want Opus' weather engine active and the REX or AS2012 weather engine disabled. I've read that a lot of people favor REX's textures over AS2012. The business about textures is where my confusion starts. Are textures dynamically selected by FSX, by REX, or by Opus as the weather changes? --or by some combination of two or three apps? Hi folks, so, around this time last year, i purchased the UK2000 Heathrow Xtreme V2. However, running 100% ultimate traffic 2, and the NGX, it, well, lets just say wasnt running with the best frame peformence (2.5PS-yes, there is a decimal!) . A few weeks ago, i needed to sort it out, because i desperatly wanted to fly into EGLL, but i knew i couldnt with that frame rate. so, i redeced traffic down, and now, im getting between around 12 and 18 (trust me, its a lot better). So, i was wandering: In terms of frame rate, does anyone know if scenery producers like FlyTampa and FSDreamTeam have simular FPS to that of UK2000 with the LHRXTREME2? i want to get more in…

I dont know if this is just the way they are supposed to look, or maybe there is a setting that needs tweaked, but city lights look pretty aweful using utx and gex.. in this image its near niagara with default scenery. I had enabled all night lighting features in utx previously.. Is this typically the case, or is there a tweak i can do to make this look better? Thanks in advance

Hello everyone, Last night, while looking through my FSX main folder, I noticed a large, and I mean large amount of addons that I don't use anymore, or simply forgot I had. I started to clean them out. I uninstalled about 30GB of addons and then went in looking around for traces that they might have left behind. My question is this. Does anyone know of a good way to double check, or clean out your registry for old entries, and the FSX Config, and folder for stuff left behind? I went into the .cfg and deleted the "trusted" entries that I knew what they were, but is there anything else to make them all disappear besides a clean install? I am not too keep on…

Morning everyone, So I have recently moved from FS9 to FSX and the first thing I did was went and purchased the NGX and the FS2 Crew..I have asked this question on the FS9 forums but got the answer I was hoping not to get. So here it goes for FSX..when I run FSX and FS Crew is there a way I can have the main sounds run through my speakers and the FO voice run through the headset. I use a USB headset so I don't know if I can change something in the FSX settings or it's impossible..The other day I was flying and I connected the headset after I started up the FS Crew and somehow it happened. It was amazing flying because all I heard was the ATC and the FO in my headset …

Just trying to make videos here. -FRAPS was a complete fail. quality and frames are terrible. -BANDICAM is actually better on frames, but the quality isn't good enough for me. And it records strange resolutions ---Havent found anything else need help please!

Has anybody ever bought this and is completely satisfied with this city scenery? This is NOT TO BE CONFUSED with requesting opinions for KMIA international airport. I am not interested in KMIA airport. I am interested in city scenery of Miami including its shores such as South Beach, South Miami beach, and Bal Harbour as well as downtown Miami. Hi there, As a long time flight simmer mostly over western europe and the traditional British holiday routes towards the Middle East I am wanting to start more flying in other areas, and to start with I was looking at Russia, especially flights from the Moscow Area Airports and when I have tried to use the FSX Flight Planner it has only been able to produce flightplans that are 'direct gps' routes, when i want to use 'vor to vor' or 'airways'. My theory is that I must have out of date Navaid information, however I don't know where to get any updates if that is the problem. If this is not the problem then would someone please tell me what it is, and a solution …

I swapped the role of two of my PC's, moving the one that was serving as the client for my "left 45" view with my flying server (0 deg view). The PC now serving as my "flying" server has more convenient access to USB ports on its front panel for when I need to plug/unplug my USB headset -- otherwise the systems are identical. I uninstalled OpusFSX on both systems and then re-installed, moving the license to my new "server" and establishing the old server as a client. While OpusFSX was uninstalled, I also removed the OpusFSX folders on both systems that contained the .CAM files. Recently while flying online in Vatsim, AI aircraft that were not part of Vatsim traffic kept appearing. I had UT2 installed and someone pointed out to me that I needed to disable the AI from within UT2, but what I actually did was uninstall UT2 completely and also disable all AI aircraft within FSX. However this hasn't sorted the issued and they continue to appear. This lead me to believe that there may be some traffic files or configuration files somewhere that control these AI, but have not been able to find any. Does anybody know where I should look for them and what file type they are? Failing that, does anybody know how to stop this from happening? Thanks

On the Simcheck A300 the logo on the Yoke is starting to get on my nerves, I'm not artistically inclined so I was hoping to get the DDS file off someone else. Now I saw on their forum that someone has done it here: http://simchecksoftware.com/forum/index.php?topic=387.msg1451#msg1451 However when I try and register it says that registration is closed, so I can't contact them. Is anybody able to share a modified yoke a300_vc004.dds file with me if you have it already? or would be willing to contact the guy at simcheck? Many thanks

This screenshot is taken on 5 August at 15:40, airport YBLT: I just did a clean install of FSX, thinking i did something wrong, but the problem is still there. This happens all over the world, not just in this location. Is this how FSX looks like for you too ? :(

Once a flight plan is compiled and loaded in FSX it will not work with AS 2012, Electronic Flight Bag, or Plan-G. Those are the only three I have tried to use and they all report the files as not being proper .pln files. The only workaround I have found is to duplicate the plan on AS 2012 and Plan-G. They can then provide flight following and weather. However, the most valuable program imo is the EFB and it will not connect to the flight using a plan from Pro Flight Emulator. Hi all, Today installed Vol.#1 VFR Scenery by Horizon which, in itself is fine but,where the scenery joins the existing FSX default it blocks out the terrain of not only the GPS but also the Map window. All nav. components are there but the terrain is a blank pale blue. Has anybody come across this problem before? Horizon's new website is not up and running yet I don't think so I'm not sure about support from them.

hello everybody i have a big problem with my textures, somehow i managed to have the following misplaced texures in the water, mostly around islands etc... but also like in London City airport, the river thames is the same does anybody knows which texture this is, that i have to modify? the island in the picture is the island of menorca in spain, by aerosoft many thanks Marc

On FSX Startup and on saving Scenery Library settings, I get an error message saying "SCENERY.CFG file error. Invalid remote scenery path in scenery area 130." However, when I check my scenery.cfg file, it stops at Area.120. I do have more than 120 items in my scenery library, though, and the 130th is Base 206, but I got the same message when before I added a bunch of scenery, so #130 was something else before, and I still got the error message. Aerosoft just loves to play games. In our case: simming. Though it is not really a "game" but a simulation of flight. Not only do they develop a lot of fine scenery; but also nice a/c. And we are currently waiting on the fine master-piece of Airbus 320 (Extended Version). Uhhhh, have you seen the most recent graphichs? Mama mia, mmm , mmmm...they are fine, fine! hello friends, I'm in A2 A-level and need to make a project. I'm not sure what this project is going to be but all i know is i only have a year to start making it. i would love my project to be based on aircraft's then again not to big as i will be on a budget. i would love to hear from you guys and some of your suggestions as a project. many thanks bilal
