I'm still struggling to get perfect parking at the gate with GSX saying my parking is rubbish! is there a technique to knowing when to turn as i always seem to wither overshoot or undershoot and end up parking askew.

I was going to play with this, since I've never really done it before. My question is do I have to reset the AI each time the weather downloads, or just the first time?

Hi, Lately I'm having this problem : When I undock my CDU's (PMDG 737NGX) and drag them to a 2nd monitor they stop updating when pressing a key (nothing shows on the CDU) When I drag them back to the main monitor I can see that they in fact show the input I just made. When I try to resize them they go black. The same for the lower EICAS. I've flown in this configuration for years without any problems. I did install some new programs and airports but after uninstalling them and rebuilding the .cfg file I still have this problem. I checked the resolution and color depth in the settings and checked the .cfg file for old graphics entries. I have also tried several older vid…

Folks, I have an idea for all airport developers. Some of us want relaism down to the really minor details. Me, like, i would imagine many others, want to park up at the right terminal... SO, why not, when you taxi in and request permission to taxi to the gate, can't we have options for, for example "Terminal 1/Terminal 2/ Terminal 3" ? I know some dont use ATC, but i figure for those who do, and those who rely on it for airport services, it may be usefull ? If this topic has been discussed/ is stupid/ is irrelevent becuase some developers use this, then i request for this thread to be deleted. Thank You -Andy

Hi all , I have finally started my fresh install & am well on the way with my aircraft , so I am getting close to starting on my scenery installs. I would like to backup my default scenery cfg & bgl files in case I need to fix them in the future , so can someone tell me which ones I need to backup & where they are , thanks.

From the screenshots it looks like one more fantastic Greek island addon. Downloading it now, will report back as soon as it's installed.

Hi there! Ever since I got my new rig (i5 3570K, 16 GB CL9 RAM, GTX 670 2GB, 480 GB SSD for everything), I had Opus FSX installed and used its camera system. Track Ir works really good with it, in the NGX, I can look to the aft overhead, the complete pedestal, etc. without any problems, making crazy moves with my head or getting out of the camera range of Track Ir. A few days ago, I purchased FSGRW. Some features of it caught my attention. And it is a really good weather engine, the local weather effects are awesome! Hi all. . . I have a problem for which I would really appreciate your help. My PC is well able to cope with FSX plus addons etc. I have installed Horizons package 1,2 and 3 for England. I installed Treescapes bundle 1,2 and 3 successfully. It doesn't show. I tried many approaches. I finally uninstalled both the VFR and Treescapes and reinstalled them. Still no success. I use the pic. from Treescapes site:: Lat.N50 49.34. Long W1 30.63. Alt 394 as my test. . Mine is totally absent of trees. Hi All I'm looking to add some variety to my flying and would like to fly a 757, which seems to be between the QW and CS offerings. From reading a few threads the general consensus seems to swing in CS's favour, and I think it's also cheaper? So my question is, is the CS 757 worth it these days, in the era of such quality offerings as the NGX. I'm not expecting the 757 to be comparable quality wise to the NGX, but would like something with decent quality VC and exterior model as well as a working FMC. Thanks in advance

I've encountered a peculiar issue. About a day ago I got REX Essential Plus Overdrive and installed the full package of textures, intending to retain use of AS2012 for my weather generation. What ended up happening was that I received dreadful FPS reductions everywhere. At first I thought this was from using HD cloud textures, but loading perfectly clear skies with no weather elicited no improvement. Further reduction of global settings again proved fruitless. A full return to the backup textures that REX saved on my initial install again, oddly, lead to no improvements. I then went and reinstalled my last AS2012 texture preset, exactly as it was before I installed REX. E…

I've just started using FS Recorder to record flights in the NGX where all animations work like the spoilers, flaps etc during replay and now I'm thinking of maybe also buying FRAPS to be able to watch my flights outside FSX with the sound included. Problem with this though is I won't be able to swtich views like I'm able to inside FSX and a substitute for this would be if I could come up with a video where I will see the flight from several different views at the same time on the same screen just like you often do in professionally made cockpit/in-flight movies by combining several FRAPS recordings in the same video. I just had a CTD while taxing out with the PMDG 744. This appears to happen on my PC most of the time with external view.I looked at the crash details and the culprit was lvld.DLL in my modules folder. Is this .dll part of the PMDG 744? I use Active Sky and REX essential and I love these programs....BUT I was getting real tired of the "flashing" clouds when skies were overcast. Well, after reading some threads on this forum, I thought it would be best to invest in OPUS FSX because supposedly this program gave real overcast skies the proper treatment. IT SURE DOES! Flying with OPUS for the last 2 days has convinced me that it is a superior weather program when it comes to the inclement weather we've been having here in Pennsylvania. I even flew in Alaska yesterday and the skies were exactly as they were predicted to be. I often use Four Flights every Hour program (free) to tell me where there are …

Which helicopter for FSX has the best overall combination of flyability, realistic detail, best VC, superb sounds, etc.? I've flown many of them, but for some reason or other, I haven't found ONE that seems to be "addictive" to fly. No problem if it's payware. I've always respected the opinions of simmers on this forum, and I'd like your valuable input on this. Stan

Hello, I never had this error popup before. What tool is involved?

In the last few weeks every time I resize my FSX window the graphics go crazy or all black. I have to then restart FSX. This also happens when I go to fullscreen. I think I updated to the latest Nvidia Drivers a few weeks ago. Could that be it? Thanks for your help!

I've spent the past hour searching around trying to find any definitive information on whether the Shader 3.0 mod does more harm then good with Nvidia cards. Some claim it actually hurts performance. Some say it helps slightly. Some say it looks better. Some say they see no difference. Some say it sharpens distant textures. Some say it induces blurries. I'm hoping someone here can help with this since Aerosoft support has been considerably less than helpful. So, sorry for the detailed wall of text, but I want to clearly explain the problem. I have the Aerosoft Huey. I got it because next to the Dodo, it seems to have tried to create a realistic FDE for a helicopter. I've been pleased with it. But a few months ago I bought an Xbox 360 controller for some other games (TS2013 mostly). I tried to fly the Huey again recently and the cyclic (joystick) wouldn't work. I noticed that I could control cyclic with my Xbox controller, even though it is not set up as a controller in FSX in any way. The rudder worked fine …

Hi, Thinking of buying a 'cinemawide' screen for running FSX, but am not sure what drives the resolution I would get on screen - is it the monitor, video card or FSX? I don't want to buy one and find I get the same picture as a wide screen, but just stretched! And ideas? thanks

I just took the time yesterday to learn howto manually add routes into the FMC and it wasn't as hard as I tought it would be(I actually enjoyed doing it).. But I don't know howto add climb, cruise and descent altitudes. Anyone know any good youtube tutorials that explain howto add them..(I learn easier with video tutorials as I have my laptop running the video while fiddling with the plane on the desktop. I hate manuals) The tutorials I found only covered howto add the waypoints... So when I fly them I have to manually adjust altitudes...
