I have all the UTX programs and regions. I had always used GEX (and the latest updates, etc) ---------------------------------------------------------- I'm in a paused flight over central Michigan on my way towards Chicago. Highways, roadways, and the road traffic itself, was (before FSXG) ho hum, not well defined, a few cars here and there at my setting of 20 percent. I pretty much ignored it below. Hi! I'd like to use FPS limiter, but there is a problem. I've created a bat file (fsx.exe.limited) but when I double click it it doesn't start FSX. Only small dos window appears for a sec and then disappears. I've tried with all three options D3D9, OGL, D3D8 but nothing works. I've selected fsx.exe file by clicking search button, I have win 7 32, Java,.... I just don't know what's wrong. Is there an alternative to FPS Limiter?

Hey everyone, I have FS Global installed for my mesh and it seems that alot of my FSX default airports are still at the wrong elevation. I took the picture below of an approach into Aspen, CO as an example. Is there any way to get the proper elevation settings into these airports while still allowing all the approaches/navaids to function properly? Thanks

People, With you patience and gently help I have been successfully flying the FSX. However, in a visual approach with the B738 I missed the shift + enter funcion that I used in the FS9 to watch the runway with more precision. Actually I can press w to disappear the panel, but it creates another problem since in this way I have only the altimeter. Is there any similar key or combination of keys that reproduce the function of shift + enter in the FSX? Thank you!

I received my copy a few days ago, and after a smooth installation I spent about 2 hours exploring the eastern area between Edinburgh and Aberdeen. I was very happy with what I saw there, as the scenery was of the high quality that I expected from the other GenX VFR volumes. However, my next trip was from Inverness down the Great Glen to Loch Linnhe, and I was very disappointed to find several very abrupt colour changes, particularly along Loch Ness. Everytime I go to change an aircraft in Simlauncher 8.9, I get a pop up window saying "Changing aircraft might produce unpredictable results. Do you want to continue.?" What does this always come up? I am trying to pinpoint the problem as to why I can't see my plane when using any external views/cameras, and I'm starting to think its because of simlauncher that's causing this strange behavior.

Hi. Having a high end rig I was thinking of more "tuning", did I miss something? After a clean install,, is there anything more to do? Tweakes done, testings, fine tuning......it works......But? Saw a tip here at AVSIM about Process Lasso. Why not try it? I did, and after following "how to" my FSX runs better under heavy load. And this was the free version. Thinking of Pro version now to get an even better result hopefully. So, anyone else using it? Benefits? How to tuning it? or a no no? Regards Goran

I used to test various settings and tweaks by simply looking at the sim... I now found out that's a VERY bad way of testing things because you often only see what you expect or want to see. So I wonder, how do you guys test settings and tweaks? Yesterday I spend my day testing various settings and tweaks, amongst others because of the fact that I wanted to give DX10 another try, but while I was at it I also tested some wellknown 'old' tweaks to see if they actually do something. Hey, Got a question for all you mesh users. Since it takes up lot of place. I have decided to junction the mesh directory of FS Global to a secondary drive. My question is if I uninstall my sim, and reinstall it back. I do not want to complete cd reinstall again (takes forever). Do I just add the directories back to the scenery library. And also I have noticed some bgl files get renamed and unrenamed in the uninstall bat file, should I create an alternate file with everything in reverse when doing a install (from hdd, not via discs)? or is that process not needed at all - and I just stick with adding directories to the Scenery.cfg Thoughts? and suggestion…

I wouldn't call this a miracle tweak, it might even be placebo! Having struggled a little with my FPS after upgrading recently I went back to the drawing board and completely reinstalled my graphics drivers, FSX cfg and reapplied SP2. The FPS after this was the same as before so I investigated something I read on here known as 'Core Parking' this feature is a Windows setting found with newer Intel processors as a kind of energy management feature where the system will 'Park' cores that aren't being actively used. Problems with "S" turns, auto pilot disconnects, wind shear alerts at cruise altitude and severe wind shifts may be caused by corrupted OPTIONS.INI files (not the 737ngxoptions.ini) in the \Flight Simulator X\PMDG\PMDG 737 NGX\Aircraft folder. It affects SimConnect, which also affects other addons that use SimConnect. The options.ini files contain configuration settings for the NGX, the info that you set up in the CDU. When downloading a new livery, it would be good practice to delete the options.ini file, and create a new one via the CDU. Let me start out with, bravo on OpusFSX. I would like to use Rex textures and Opus to do the rest. I have searched for help on this and have come up empty. Anyone know of a guide to help with this. I tried to get onto the Rex forum, however it has been impossible for me to register my copy with them. I wont get into details, I have tried every which way to no avail. Thanks for your time.

Hi Guys For some strange reason even with target frame rate set to unlimited and just using the trike the FPS go straight 30.0 but will; not go above that. Before it would go 50 -60 no problems. I've started a new cfg and also checked Nvidia Inspector and the frame rate limit is set to 'off' It's strange that it goes to 30.0 and not above. I've turned everything right down, still no luck. It seem 30FPS is were it want to go. Anyone any ideas what else would make it 'peak at 30' and not go any higher Thanks Clive

I finally have (had) FSX screaming along with zero issues and overclocked system with sensational FPS, and then.......I ran repair to sort out a few minor issues which it did, But and there always has to be a but, Repair messed up my sound configuration Button When I press the config button nothing happens and if I make any adjustments to the sliders I get A CTD straight away This is a tough one, and re installing repair didnt fix it and a Clean install is not an option!! I have to much stuff I still get sound through the headphones, just no speakers to select for my sub woofer. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi guys, Don't know why I haven't noticed this but there are few good japanese airport addons for FSX. I was wondering if those airports from simmers sky overland work in fsx. I know that they aren't the high quality that we are used to in FSX now but they are pretty good and not too expensive like Aerosim (wow). My credit card is waiting thanks.

Hi all, I just bought the Dash 8 and am trying to do the tutorial flight (The Delivery Tutorial one). It is very detailled, but also a bit vague once in a while. I haven't read all the procedure manuals, so it may just be a question of RTFM I just failed my first flight here, as I crashed into the ground shortly before Newark. Problem was that I it did not capture the approach, and then I took it out of autopilot to do that myself. The second I took it out of AP mode it just put its nose towards the ground and fell. It did not feel realistic at all, 1 sec the nose pointed at the horizon, the next it pointed at the ground... Anyone know what happened here? A…

Hi all, I currently fly in Europe (northern Italy) with GEX and UTX. I'm counting on purchasing FTX Global. I'm wondering whether any of the products from OpenVFR can fit in, since their mesh, autogen, terrain and objects packages seem interesting. Or is FTX simply going to annihilate them all?

So really, i just want to know which of the two aircraft has a bigger fps hit on you Sim? Also if you don't mind stating what fps you achieve on either aircraft?

So I have corrected all my panel.cfg files for 3 monitors so I don't get the flashing cursor when doing free flights. The problem is when I am doing the missions in FSX. Some of the aircraft that dont have problems during free flight give me the flash cursor problem. I am having this problem with the lear 45 for example. Any ideas on what the problem is here. Do the missions use a different panel.cfg file that I am not aware about? Thanks for the help.

I'm currently flying with FSX and have had a problem on 2 flights recently. I am using the PMDG NGX and while level at cruise my VC will vanish and turn into a black rectangle. The scenery covers the upper half of the screen that I can move around smoothly, while a black rectangle covers the bottom half. I go to the top where my views selector is and select Virtual Cockpit and it comes back very laggy and with a flickering mouse. All of the lights in the cockpit seem to dim as well. I wasn't sure whether this was a PMDG error or FSX error so I decided to post it here. Anybody seen this before or have any ideas why it did this? My flight is currently lagging pretty bad wit…

I have a problem that has popped up since upgrading to both Opus 3.15.0 and FSUIPC 4.9. I have Mouse Look enabled in FSUIPC (as I always have had, since using Opus), but now, when I hold down my middle mouse button to pan around the cockpit (usually only do this during set up on ground), the camera pans fine while in windowed mode, but when in full screen mode, the camera just moves to some non descript view and then sticks there and is unresponsive to my middle mouse button except for zoom adjustment. I can however get it back to one of my preset views by hitting one of my preset button assignments. Is there something that has changed in either the new version of…

I'm looking for some of the prettier chrome vintage airliners that were around in the 60's and 70's. Google searching only comes up with American Airlines. I know there must be many more than that. Reason is I'd like to search for liveries for the planes I have of them, but I can't search if I don't know what I'm looking for. If you know what I mean.

Hello Now I know this is not top of the range technology and some people will no doubt think why on earth does he used that? ,fact is I am on a limited budget but I have been offered a cheap Geforce GTX560Ti 1gb card by a friend and I wondered if it would work better than my ATi4870 512mb card for FSX,? I do get some shimmering with my current card and I have read on the forums that this is down to the fact that Nvidia cards work better for FSX then ATI/AMD. Should I purchase this card?
