Is there a way to enter into the GPS a destination waypoint by long/lat coordinates only, no airport or nav aid ? Cannot get into the "position" sub-window of the "direct-to" window... Thanks

I guess we all jumped to the conclusion of great support and fast development too soon. The devs are hardly on forums anymore, one hasnt logged in close to a month. There hasnt been mention of an update for few weeks. So just becareful if you were considering purchasing this add on.

I tried doing this by resizing it and saving that flight as a default flight, but when I go into flight planner and create a new flight to load the ATC reverts back to taking up a huge part of the display. I did this for my previous install I thought by this mechanism but alas no joy. Ideas? Thanks!

Hello there, I'm having the well known "excessive g-force and/or overspeed" issue flying a PMDG 737. Back when i purchased OpusFSX there was a version that did not have this issue, 2.8x or something. Since then (and 3.x branch), i've tried every Stable and Beta releases (with proper uninstall-install everytime), checking all stabilisation and sim friendly options i can, lowering wind change to 10knots/degrees per 16km, reading every topic i can find about it, but no luck. I still get jerky weather updates on a 1-5h flight, mainly at Cruise & Descent, and aircraft really doesn't like it. (Camera goes crazy, i lose altitude, ang gain instant 30 knots on speed) So…

Just upgraded my PC ( new MoBo,CPU,GPU, Ram but still original FSX install) and find that most times loading UI AC (aerosoft twin otter/F1 bn2 islander as examples) and selecting: view/instrument panel / GPS or AP the gauge shows but the contents are black and as a result cannot either switch on AP or choose 'direct to' or any other options. Sometimes the data will re appear for a minute or two then go off again. This happens in both DX9 and DX10 (my prefered option) in windowed and full screen. Anything in the FSX.cfg file I should look at or any other advice much appreciated. Thank you

Hi all, I encountered a problem which I can't seem to fix. I just recently installed FSX and added my addons. ORBX global, plus all the rockie mountains sceneries. FS Global, AS2012 and finally the DX10fixer just released. Now when I load my NGX at night in CYVR, none of the lights work, runway, taxiway, apron lights. I tried changing the halo.bmp in the FSX/Textures folder with no luck. I have switched back and forth between DX9 and DX10 and no luck. Reinstalled a theme from AS2012 and nothing. Its getting frustrating and thus I am here asking for help. If anyone knows or could give me any tips on what to do I would greatly appreciate it. I rather not do a full re-i…

When I start FSX and go to the free flight page, it shows all of my variations but the description below the thumb nails is one picture off. Is there any way to realign the thumb nails with the descriptions?

"Now that we know where the clouds are, we decided to make a detailed accurate NEXRAD radar precipitation overlay for both the Map and the included radar gauge. Real radar simulation.. not generic station-based imagery. You see the cloud, you see the rain cell, and when you enter it, it's all synchronized. Thread the needle between cells. Realistic avoidance procedures. This overlay data is also coming soon to aircraft NDs as we are working on an interface of our radar data to aircraft developers." That being said. I wonder which aircraft will get Weather Radars? And the fact that the wx radar will actually be put into the ND... Sounds dreamy...

Awaiting arrival of new rig and anticpating transition from FS9. I ran FSX a few years ago but my rig lacked the horsepower to run it and all the superb addons at a reasonable level of performance. I've read NickN, Word Not Allowed, and Paul Johnson's consolidated FSX tweaking information in preparation. Having purchased nearly every addon for FS9, I'm going to be a bit more judicious in the way I approach FSX this time around. My basic gameplan is to load FSX in a dedicated 250GB SSD along with the OS (Win 64 Ultimate) and have a 1 TB HDD for expansion capes. As I recall when I installed FSX a few years ago, I installed FSX deluxe to a root directory...reboot...…

I love this aircraft, and it's about all I fly at the moment, but I'm having a small problem that someone may know the answer to. How do you change from BARO to RADAR as the altitude source? It's the only bit of the AP menu on the UFC that doesn't seem to work. And without it the aircraft can't follow the terrain properly on autopilot. Is it a known bug? Maybe it's not even modelled, although the manual does mention it, albeit not very clearly. Also, is there an alternative support forum somewhere? The IRIS forums are unavailable. Thanks Ian

What always amazes me is how quickly people are able to determine (or think so) an increase or decrease in FPS by, let's say 2-3 FPS for instance. A new addon comes out, a new tweak has been applied, a fixer installed, etc. and immediately the effect on FPS seems to be noticed by people. I use 3 19 inch screens with matrox triple head and TrackIR That means that the FPS hugely depends on where i look: at the pedestal, at the overhead, out of the window to look at at the scenery, or a mix of VC and scenery. It depends on the zoom factor used as well. All that means the FPS can differ from very low to very high. So, how on earth can you determine a gain or los…

So with the launch of their new website they have decided to also charge a subscription fee if you want to download videos vs streaming. Are you kidding me? I bought the captain package (last year!) under the assumption you could download videos with no additional charges. One year late and I still can't download all the videos, and now this...

Just saw this highlighted on the news from a company called Urthecast (earthcast). Photo scenery might look decent but as we all know they dont line up from region to region depending on when they were shot. Different times, no day and night, and no seasons. Perhaps this is the answer in the future. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRNI1XvzrqU

I have read about how various programs can get corrupted by a running anti-viral program whilst being downloaded because the anti-viral thought it was a virus. However, I would never want to download something without an anti-virus program running. Is it possible to down load a Zip program file then close the anti-viral program and unzip the add on file hopefully not causing any corruption? If not, how do others handle this issue? Leo.

So I am playing with the 700 series add-on for PMDG and I have a couple of questions that are probably answered somewhere in the 3000 pages of manual but I want to make sure it is not a bug and see if anyone else has the answer right off the bat rather than searching for hours in a book thicker than the Bible. SEE IMAGE BELOW. CLICK ON TO FULL SCREEN IT. 1. When I turn the lighting for the cockpit and turn it just past halfway the back panels on the MCP LEDs turns blue. Is this normal ops? It never did this in the 800 series. 2. The TCAS Indicators never went away on the MFDs. These were on while on the ground and never went off. I use FS2Crew to do the …

I was landing w/ the PMDG 777 at KARR which has a rw 9/27 of 6500' and a 15/33 of 5500' wind was 340@5kts and even though the wind favored rw33 ATC should have given me rw27 for landing because of the empty weight of the airplane. The same situation occurred for takeoff where that extra 1000' of runway becomes even more critical. Is there any way to fix this using ADE? And before anyone tries to get technical, yes I know these runways are both too short for approved 777 operation. Thanks.

Hello everyone, I've really been thinking of moving my FSX installation out of the Programfiles (X86) folder due to the certain restrictions I heard windows put onto that directory, and into my E drive folder, which s dedicated ssd. What is the safest way of moving the installation without causing a storm of issues. I know I can uninstall it, but I simply have too much to reconfigure. (effects, textures, cfgs etc.) Is it safe to just cut the FSX folder and paste it into the (E:) drive? Then reconfigure anything that needs the directory such as Opus,REX,Fsuipc and so on?

I SURE MISS FSWIDGETS!!!! It is a great company that produces great products, and I am by no means put off using them because of their current difficulties with the servers. And I don't want to add my whip to everyone else who may be wearing their arms out try to get the horse to move. A couple of thoughts, though. Their problems reveal two things: 1. How much I really use the EFB and the QuickPlan. I feel as if I am missing an arm. I know there are other addons out there, but I don't want other addons (can you hear the 6-year-old tantrum in that?) I really do like those products and I wish FSWidgets all the luck in getting back up to speed. I'm sure no one wishes …
