Calling all FSX sound experts. Probably a daft question but I will ask anyway. Is it possible to get rid of the terrible sound engine in FSX and replace it with the FS9 sound engine. I have had enough of the wishy washy sounds that FSX generates. Most Devs provide good sound packs with their models and if you go into the sound folder and play the WAV files most of them are pretty much spot on, the problem is FSX destroys them, I have experimented with on board sound, various sound cards and now my sound is HD from the GPU through HDMI to a Yamaha receiver feeding a top end Energy 5.1 surround system, all this finery and aircraft still sound rubbish in FSX !! My Super Huey X has no engine sound. I can hear sounds of other planes and cars in the background. Do I go into my Bell 206 Config . sound , copy that , then paste that sound into the Huey Config. Sound ?

Just went to Fry's electronics and picked up an ASUS M51BC. I stressed to the salesman and showed them the requirements FSX takes. I couldn't even fly at first due to having an invalid product key (called Microsoft got that all fixed) I have 3 add ons all aircraft (carenado c90 and 182T. And the Leonardo maddog). My problem is I'm not very Cpu savvy so config files and tweaking stuff I have no idea what I'm doing. Hi I have a CoreI5 4670K, Water cooling, 8GB RAM, 2TB HDD, 600W power supply I get 20 FPS at a gate in pmdg ngx at FSDT KLAX V2 with active sky next and FTX global vector installed and DX10 enabled etc. Is this good with my current specs ? Thanks

I was watching to a youtuber stream FSX. They mentioned Lockheed do not charge anything for developers developing for P3D. I do not know if this is true. Do developers actually have to pay lockheed extra to develop, or is it just usually more for a "new" game.

Folks, I have both FS Global Ultimate Americas and FS Global Ultimate Europe and Africa. Further, I have FS Global 2010X, and FTX Global Vector. Any advice which to install first? If I have FS Global Ultimate, do I still need FS Global 2010X? Will installing all of them cause issues? I'm in the process of re-installing FSX, and want to make sure I get this right. Hi guys! I just done a complete reinstall of OS7 followed nicks recommends to reinstall windows 7 fsx etc disabled UAC DEP nod32 AV before installing FSX and my addons. I have a GTX 780 i will also post more specs below. I'm using the 737 ngx and what is happening is when loading up the 737 ngx a few times on the ground some knobs are missing in the VC i have all options setup for VC and the 737 HIGHMEMFIX and all that good stuff. Is there any program that will give me random GA aircraft, even gliders etc, flying around that i have to watch out for when I am flying away from an airfield i.e. en route? I want to use this as a way of keeping a good look out outside of the cockpit when flying VFR. I know I can get Traffic 360 etc but are these mainly generating commercial traffic at the airport? Simple question. I have two machines that I fly with, both are used only by me and only one is in use at any given time. Does anyone know if this product will allow me to install it on both machines? I am thinking of buying it, and it does not say anything on the website. So far the only product I have that is limited like this is ASN and it is annoying.

Hi. I just today downloaded the Posky 737 model. Why? I'm not really sure... probably because I wanted a high quality 737-900. Anyway, after finally working in the Alejandro Rojas vc model, as well as default vc camera views, it seems for some odd reason the cockpit spawns about 20 feet behind the camera views. I have to use the Ctrl+Shift+Enter, Ctrl+Enter (etc.) combinations to get the cameras in place... but that tends to take a while. So, does anyone know any solutions.. or what are potential factors to this problem? To what I remember, I believe I have had this same issue a few weeks ago with another POSKY aircraft (maybe). Let me start off by saying hi ! Okay. I'm not quite sure how to explain this, so bear with me. On rare occasions, such as today, I will takeoff from any planned airport, and while ascending or at cruising altitude on a valid flightplan (as far as I know), the plane (ranges from different types, this time a 737-700) will trim full left, then full right. It will then try to correct itself by trimming full left again, then full right to fix that mistake. It almost seems as if two lines of code are contradicting with each other. When says go left... the other says to go right, ultimately flying me in a straight zig-zag... wasting a ton of fuel. Now I don't mean the aircra…

I dont know why, but I have no more runway lights, including VASI; only taxiway lights are present.- I tried a repair, using the install disks, but after it I could open FSX no more, fortunately I had a complete and recent backup so I could replace the "repaired" one.-I want to know which files are involved with the runway lights, so I can replace them.-Thanks

Just an update for Opus camera users who use ASN, FS Global and Rex Weather. Stephen has released the latest beta which improves DHM with Opus LWE turned off. I just tested using the PMDG777, and all DHM functions work including "bump Aircraft etc when using ASN for weather. Well worth the download. This is not a Opus versus Ezydok thread thanks.

Hi Captains, Noticed today when flying to a VOR in nav mode that the aircraft was off to the right of the route showing on the GPS. VOR 1 was set correctly to the course defined in the flight plan so i'm assuming the route displayed on the GPS should be exactly the same. I understand the plane may fly a corrected heading doe to winds but I'm assuming it should still stay on the route shown The strange thing is I have been sim flying for many years but only just noticed this !!!! Discovered today that with FSTramp running in FSX, aircraft will not track the magenta GPS track. The FS moving map shows the aircraft seemingly capturing the GPS track, the HDG indicator on the annunciator then reads GPS, but the aircraft flies right through it, instead of turning on it. Flying the Feel There Phenom 100. Aircraft did capture and turn onto the GPS route after a reboot of system and FSX, with FSTramp not running. Anybody experience similar issue with FSTramp? Has anyone running EZDOK 1.17 noticed that during an FSX flight the the Windows Application log will have hundreds if not thousands of errors for EZDOK? These errors are recorded continuously and never let up as long as FSX / EZDOK are running. The nature of these errors are probably due to EZDOK 1.17 using DMA (Direct Memory Access) as they indicate an attempt to write to an invalid memory address. Also, it may be due to running EZDOK on a 64bit OS which would make sense as the memory address space is mapped differently. The thing is that EZDOK seems to run OK in the sim but all these errors makes me wonder if there is some performance impact. Anywa…

hi guys, before buying the 777x, i had a good flying experience, 30fps nearly locked everywhere e.g. heathrow uk2000 pmdg 737 and 60% traffic i would get around 23.26 fps. however, after buying the 777x everything just dropped out of the blue. i tried going into the performance page on the fmc and tweak that, it did help. But when switching back to fly the ngx my frames are roughly around 14. i deleted my cfg and built a new one and tweaked it by using kostas guide however, results were the same. at this point im really lost, any help please? thank you. my rig: i5 2500k 4.2ghz 8gb ram hd 6870

Hi guys. Problem with taxi and take off. Very jerky stop starting. On take off e.g. shoots from 20 knots to 160knots in one go. Though flying sequences seem OK without jerks. Also some jagged edges. Looks as if my computer is not powerful enough. Though it does seem to be within the recommended software specs. I bought the computer last year a Dell workstation. XPS WIN 8.1. 3.40 GHZ. 8 Gigs RAM. NVidia GeForce GT640.0. Intel core i7. 1.8 TB HD. I Have tried tweaking FSX as per suggestions on the forum but this makes no difference. Would welcome your expert advice guys. Many thanks. Mike

You can see my specs to the left. My question is: I got Prepar3d v2 and loaded up all my addons, and from what I can tell, it runs worse than how FSX did on my old aging computer. So, I'd like to run FSX with dx10, along with FTX Global/Vector, REX4, and ASN. I'm also going to run the PMDG and Majestic Q400. I see people getting a pretty smooth experience with those things and a rig that's either the same as mine or even a little less. What tweaks should I throw into it? I don't want to bloat my cfg file in search of perfection. Thanks a lot guys... I really appreciate all the help you've given me over the years! -Brian
