hi everyone.. i decided to join the forum because im seriously contemplating banging my head against a wall on this.. I've been using fsx for a while and decided to get the pmdg 747 addon. I've learned how to program the FCU and all that.. i'm ok with that. I simply want to be able to clear an IFR plan with ATC and use my programmed FCU route instead of ATC commands. how can i do this.. ?? I'm not sure of what i'm missing. I don't know how to start a FSX flight (either on a runway or gate with or without the aircraft engines on). I've watched a few youtube videos and I guess thats possible ?? I'm thinking of buying 2 new airport sceneries but figured before doing so I'd ask for some input and advice from you guys. The airports I'm considering are Cagliari from Devinci Design and Venice from Aerosoft. I checked them both out and from the screenshots I think the both look nice and the Venice scenery from Aerosoft in particular. However after reading the comments found over here I have seconds thoughts about the Cagliari scenery. Too bad if it's not worth the money because I really would like that destination and it's also supported by Aerosoft AES which is a product I use for all my addon airports. I just did two partial flights with the Dash, one @KSEA and one in rural NC. The flight in Seattle was frames unlimited and sync with sim un-checked. In NC, frames set to 30 with sync enabled. Both scenarios produced violent shaking by the scenery and or aircraft. The whole scenery/earth would tilt/shake violently, appeared to jump. This happened in P3D 1.4. No other aircraft produces this on my system. This was far, far beyond some turbulence or instability by not having trimmed the rudder. Is this known to the community? My thoughts are that I'll have to wait for a V2 installer, and of course, get V2!

As the title states, how do you guys live with autogen popping in fsx ? Of lately i have started to get annoyed with the constant popping of autogen.I have tried different lod, different multi for texture bandwith but it still pops up every second.I have also experimented with different settings but yet no success. So i wanted to know about you guys.How do you live with it.Is there any tweak that iam missing or is it just a trade off that everyone lives with.P3D v2.2 is an option i know, however not until PMDG get their products ready. I use FTX global and vector along with airport sceneries from FSDT, aerosoft and few others. Would love to hear from you guys.

Hi I have a core I5 4670K, 8GB RAM, 2tb HDD, Water cooling, GTX 760 OC, Addons Pmdg 777,737 ngx, Airbus x extended, Dash 8 from Majestic etc UK2000 sceneries and a number of Flytampa, FSDT and Aerosoft sceneries I'm wondering what is the best way to achieve the best FPS with the specs and add-ons that I have. Recently purchased EZdok 1.16 and upgraded to vs 1.17. Great Add-on! Can create and modify Virtual cockpit, Aircraft and World views without issue. In World Views an amazing presentation with a Camera on Track by the runway. This is being set-up, by me, primarily for the Carenado Phenom 100 (EP50), a bird I fly all the time. Followed instructions to import motion effects (RND,DHM and CR) from a default plane similar to the aircraft. The closest in default planes was the Lear. I exported each of the RND (Random), DHM (Dynamic Head Movement) and CR (Camera Resonance)) files and then imported these respectively in to my EZdok Carenado Phenom Camera set-up. T…

And the game crashes when I try and click fly now. Every airport only has "Active Runway" selectable, even though using AFX there are still afcad files. I just installed KORS and an updated library, but something messed up? Now I can't fly now. Help!

Is there anyway to adjust what time the Lights come on and off, I find that FSX turns them off early and doesnt turn them on soon enough for the day/night transition. Cheers!

Hi can you please help me,I have just Uninstalled fsx from my Pc because it was failing to launch. I tried to repair using my Fsx Gold disk but during installation process but it kept on rolling back so l decided to remove fsx starting with Addons and last Fsx,cleaned the registry. I was following Nicks n bible instructions prior installing,I have managed to install disk 1 & 2 fire up the sim and reboot. The problem starts when I want to install Acceleration it's failing to run I've tried everything but no joy. I searched the net couldn't find a solution. Hi I could use some help.......So I finally decided to jump into FSX from FS9 (still use it). Bought the huge new hardware 780 ti I7 4770 clocked to 4.2 16 gig 1800 ram etc so that I can have the power to run fsx......I read the avsim guide for installing and tweaking and tried following as instructed. I installed the game, ran it, shut it down installed SP1 ran it again shut it down installed sp2 and ran it again. I tweaked the cfg. Ran inspector....however the new inspector does not give me the same tweak values as an older version.....Anyway did what I could and started up the unit pretty virgin and started flying....now I like to view outside the plane and pan around …

Simple question. I have an addon airport for KMCO within my Addon Scenery folder, it is active and at the top of the list. I updated the database in Plan-G and FSCommander The airport does appear to be overwriting the stock one as expected. Problem is FSX does not see some gates, for example Gate 21 medium. FSCommander, Plan-G, and even Airport Designer all show Gate 21 even though FSX doesnt. Now the strange part is when I open stock airport in Airport Design Editor, it uses: C:\FSX\Scenery\0302\scenery\APX26210.bgl so why does it see Gate 21 and not FSX? Came across a confusing issue and thought I might ask you guys: I did something different than my previous flights; instead having 1 virtual cockpit across 2 monitors, I decided to put the Captain's side on the left monitor, and the First Officer's side on the right using "New View" from the Options bar. The reason I have it setup like this is because I plan to have a colleague over for a 2 crew flight and I want my side different from his so if I pan around, his side is unaffected and he can still look out the windshield, or feed data into the CDU. Okay! I have searched far and wide for the instructions to establish the Mad Dog set-up in FSX, but the MAd Dog forums are dead, and I can only find cryptic answers. SO - I'm throwing this out to see if anyone will respond: Apparently, there is a unpublished method of setting up the Mad Dog for the first time that requires loading the default Cessna, switching the Cessna for the Mad Dog, saving it as a default of some kind, and then closing FSX, and re-launching it from the Mad Dog load manager with the "default flight" that is listed in the Load Manager. Hi all! I have a problem with my throttle: whenever I click "outside" of FSX, including on the FSInn control panel, my throttle moves out of its previous position. I have to push the command full forward, then full back, then reset it. As you can imagine, this is very annoying, especially on the ground when my aircraft suddenly starts accelerating if I don't slam the brakes. This happens when I click on the FSInn control panel (for example when changing squawk mode), or on any other window that isn't FSX. I've just started getting the following error just as FSX loads. * Error "attempt to call a nil value stack traceback" Can anyone tell me what that is? The only other thing I've noticed is I don't have any pictures of aircraft when I go into load one. The only aircraft pictures there are the default ones. There's a space for each aircraft with it's description only. Any ideas/feedback would be greatly appreciated. Bruce Ross

I am having trouble with Rex4 and TextureDirect. I do not know how to check but I am sure that none of my settings are being saved. Even though I select 512 size cloud textures and dxt3, cloud cover costs me 10-20 fps at least. How can I check to make sure TextureDirect is processing my textures properly to the specs I set in the option menu? Does anyone else have this problem?

I am having an issue when going into Top Cat in order to add my PMDG 777 aircraft. When I click on the aircraft tab and then add aircraft in the drop down box this aircraft is not present for some reason. Could anyone suggest where I am going wrong as this aircraft is obviously in my FSX file. I previously set up the PMDG NGX 737 which is still in there. Any help would be appreciated please. Michael

I have the radiocd4 gauge installed in an FSX panel. I can get it too play from music on my HD with the AM/FM buttons. I have a music CD in my CD drive. I do not have autoplay selected as stated in the readme. I can play the CD music with WMP OK. I cannot get the radiocd4 to play the music from my CD drive. Am I missing something in the setup or configuration? Thanks, Bob.

Hi, My FSX game seems to be suffering a lot from low fps and the quality is not very good either. Does anyone have any suggestions on what codec I should use, apart from the default ones on Dxtory. Regards. Raj

Today as I was flying around Hawaii in Carenado's C206, I switched windows to Windows Task Manager. It was on top of FSX's screen as I was still able to monitor my flight progress. However, my FPS took a massive increase with the Task Manager in front of FSX. Hope everyone can understand me so far. Further testing shows an FPS increase with other windows opened just like Task Manager was, as well as drop down menus. Kinda weird but hopefully this is a topic that has been covered so someone can give me tips to have this continue without the windows up. I'll be glad to try and explain further if I didn't do such a hot job earlier. Thanks

A little rant. My current working FSX installation uses a copy of FS Global 2010 for mesh, UTX for landclass, and GEX for textures. When I originally created this installation several years ago, the "airfields on plateaus" problem was so bad for North America, that I ended up just unticking the mesh for this region. Advertised as some kind of rarity, I found that the issue was in fact quite widespread. Since that time, the makers of FS Global 2010 came out with something called Airfield Flattening Mesh, and I guess as an owner of this product I am entitled to a free copy. Hello I don't know how this has happened but the FSX start screen (the one where you choose your flight/aircraft/time and season etc) has disappeared! When I start FSX now the splash screen appears and then FS loads and starts at my default flight. Any ideas what may have happened and how I can rectify this issue? Thanks Alan W
