I downloaded a couple afcad files for airports that I don't fly to often but fly over a lot. One of them is LFPO by Ray Smith. When I fly over the airport at cruising altitude, and look down from the virtual cockpit, my fps goes to single digits. It is only a default airport. Is the object file some how slowing everything down? It does not make sense why it would be worse than a payware addon airport. There are only default airports nearby no payware scenery.

Hi all, I've just downloaded the FS KBT L-188 Electra for FSX because I want to try out a few old props/turbo-props, and I have to say, despite the panel being a bit dated/an acquired taste, it isn't bad, and considering there are no payware L-188 offerings I'm aware of, it's probably the best too. ^_^ I like to do a bit of tweaking every time I get a new plane to the hangar, and since I am now a bit more of a serious simmer, like to have check-lists too. Hi. I'm using Opus en PMDG 777. Now do i understand correctly that in order to make the weather radar work in PMDG 777 i need to buy ASN? I have no intention of using ASN for the weather because i like Opus. So, in my case i only should buy ASN for a small utility or module or something, is that correct? Or are there other ways to make the weather radar work in the 777?

I'm going to try again and see if anyone can help with a seemingly viable work around for the slow loading aircraft textures when switching views. When in "External Locked Spot View" (for a while) and then switching to "Virtual Cockpit View", the cockpit textures can take quite some time to appear. Now for the "Work Around", if you switch from "External Locked Spot View" to "Virtual Cockpit View" then quickly back to "External Locked Spot View" and immediately back to "Virtual Cockpit View", the textures are all there instantly. Question is, how to create a one touch to do all that? Maybe in FSUIPC or "Gaming Keyboard Programming"? This also works from VC to …

Hi! I'm having troubles with ground textures not loading (see picture). I think it happend after I installed som New York airports. But I uninstalled this and the problem still persists. I want to try other solutions before reinstalling FTX. Anyone?

Is it possible to set weather conditions at the arrival airport using default fsx weather?

Hello all. Not what is happening but after weeks of sitting in the hangar, I took the ol' C172 out and am getting this (see link). I tried reinstalling but get the same thing (including A2A's autoupdate). I cannot say what caused it as I have installed other addons so the culprit can be anything. Oh... and of course, it won't startup! Any ideas?

Hello, does anybody know how to make sure that the WAAS GNS 430 from RealityXP is truly in sync with the airports coordinates/altitudes of all airports/strips loaded on FSX? I am using ORBX FTX scenery with some of they airports sceneries: can I be confident I will find all of them on my GNS 430, or do I have to adjust some settings to make this happening? many thanks!

hi all Is it just me or do others too look at the instruments too much, I have been doing this lately especially when taking off, once i press the toga switch i am looking at the instruments all the time making sure I have positive rate, flaps, looking at the pfd etc, till i get up and clean in the 737, then i look out and i am in the clouds, is this also in real life? or is it just a bad habit i have started?

I have a GTX 285 paired with an E6600 at 3.3ghz and have recently discovered that fullscreen mode produces much higher FPS than in windowed mode, almost twice as much. The experience is night and day but the problem is I prefer windowed mode so I can multitask and use other programs essential for flight simulator. Does anyone know if there's some setting or tweak that's holding back windowed mode? Thanks.-Alex

I was just about to re-install the A330/340 series into FS9 and needed the info in one of the stickies on the forum. The JF boxed version has a problem where many gauges are missing in the VC in the FS9 version. Someone posted a solution to this problem which cleared it up 100%. Now the forum is gone :( . I also need the files for the gpws altitude call outs for the DC-10.

Have the latest version of both. Any flight plan made in PFPX causes FSCommander to give me a "Some waypoints are missing in current Cycle!" error. Both are using cycle 1405, and the route came from Route Finder.

So I have the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X for a joystick + throttle. It has a swivel thing on the joystick to pan around the cockpit, external views, etc. Just yesterday, it simply stopped working. The joystick was plugged in, I changed nothing. It just stopped working. I reset the controller and FSX + a restart on my PC. The joystick appeared to be working okay until I tried to pan around my cockpit. It now pans much slower than before. It's super slow! It appears to have extreme lag too. But when I hold shift and pan with the mouse, I have perfect frames! What could be wrong with my controller. Any insight would be great as I'm pretty lost here.

I recently had to reinstall W7 and FSX/Acceleration and a bunch of FTX and other scenery add-ons. All went well except for Tongass Fjords FSX from Silver Cloud which informs me that the "100 download limit has been reached and further downloads are not possible". I think I may have downloaded it once or twice before. My question is, as I now have two FSX's the new one and the old one renamed to FSX(OLD), can I simply copy the FSAddon/Togass Fjords folder from the FSX(OLD) to the new FSX. Any help will be appreciated.

Pressing the standard "v" key, renders an FSX screenshot in .bmp format. The problem is that the files are huge-- like 6 or 7 meg in size. Is there anyway to have FSX natively render the screenshots in .jpg form, without me having to manually convert them? Thanks
