Just curious, but what is your favorite freeware scenery? I've got tons of aircraft, but all of my scenery is default. What do you think? Earl

helloi just installed a completely fresh system after a recent virus infection, but i am not able anymore now to switch to the menus in Fs2002 in fullscreen mode. if i hit the ALT key during flight, it stops, jsut like it should do, but the menus don't appear, and i can't change anything. After hitting the ALT key again, it just continues normally. to change something i have to hit the Windows key, to exit the window, then re-enter the window, and immediately hit the ALT key, then i can change the menus. but not otherwisecan anybody help me?thanks a lotMarc MullerFlight AttendantLUXAIR AirlinesLuxembourg, Europe

As is probably common in FS...I learned to fly an ILS in Turbine aircraft before I fully understood basic aircraft operations. While using the Commander I notices after a few minutes after start-up my panel went dead. I noted no volts and switched on the alternator and the panel came back alive. When does one use activate the alternator and what does it do...charge the battery?I assume the master switch on the Commander is the BATT switch (left of alternator)??Also, when I start FS2002, my rudder pedals are always incorrectly calibrated. I have to go back into calibration and re-calibrate on every start-up no matter what aircraft. Thanks for everyone's help,

Hi everyone,Just upgraded my old PIII and installed FS2K2 under Windows 2000 Professional.Everything works fine, except the joystick. Although Win 2000 has successfully added its own driver for the joystick, when I load FS2K2, I rarely have the joystick enabled.I quit the sim, go to Control Panel -> Gaming Options and there it is correctly displayed: The status column displays "unknown" but very shortly afterwords passes to "OK".I load FS2K2 again, and still no joystick ! I've tried the keyboard shortcut "CTRL + K" several times, but it still doesn't work.Any help would be kindly appreciated,Regards,macc1966

I'm looking at upgrading my system which is currently using Windows 98. I'm looking at many different bits of hardware which end in XP. Does this mean that it will only work with Windows XP, or will it work with any system?I've been told it will work with windows 98, and it only means Xtra Power, is this true??CheersWill

I just purchased the Piper Archer yesterday from Flight1, and I was just curious what other people thought about the view from the cockpit. My first impression is that I feel as if my head is tilting down because the outside view in front of the cockpit isn't that great. I've never flown in an Archer, so I'm not sure what the outside view is like. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?Other than that, I think it's a great flying plane, and the sounds and photo-realistic cockpit is awesome. I can't wait to try it out with the new computer I bought yesterday from DELL.Any comments regarding this would be helpful.

I personally think the two guys who are leading the pack of scenery designers at the moment are: Gary Summons with his beautiful UK scenery and the Austrian, Stefan Rausch. Please do yourself a favor and visit his web site at ...... and see what I mean. Well done Herr Rausch!Compare these photographs with the scenery he did and save a few dollars to fly Austria!Enjoy.

I just thought I would pass along this. I fly into St Thomas a lot and find an AI Piper or a Cessna there almost every time that cannot seem to land. I think it is due to the high terrain on the north side of the runway. The AI planes try to fly a left pattern but have to go too high to clear the terrain and cannot seem to make it down for landing so they keep going around. When I start my flight there I can usually go right into the T&G pattern and have company going around with me. They usually make 4 or 5 laps around the pattern then disappear or actually land. Kind of cool! Now if I could only get them to report the turns in the pattern. It sometimes happens in St…

Greetings everyone,Finally got around to installing FS Sky World yesterday and wanted an opinion on whether I was using it correctly or not.I have all the cloud sets installed in the FS2002 texture directory as instructed. What I've been doing then is starting up the sim, then starting up Sky World. I select auto-random and ensure that all cloud sets are checked and then set the timer to around ten minutes or so.I'm then minimizing Sky World and starting up FSMeteo. After all that is running I'm off for the wild blue yonder. I'm getting some great weather changes as I fly with FSMeteo but I don't think I'm really getting any cloud variation that I've noticed. Should I be …

Hi everyone,Is it necessary (or prudent) to rebuild ones FSNav database after installing mesh? Does it pick up any new elevation data? The reason I ask is that I just installed some freeware New Zealand mesh. The FSNav (limited) terrain elevation showed a mountain range at 4500' but I needed 5500' to clear it.Any ideas?Andy (YSCB)ps This mesh is fantastic by the way. I nearly fell off my chair when it loaded up! Full credit to Christian and available at http:scorpius.spaceports.com/~fergus

Last year I bought an AMD900 system with VIA mobo and a TNT2 M64 32meg video card. It says in the specs that it is 4XAGP. When I look up specs using NVMAX, it says my system max is 1X and 1X is selected, though in bios it says 4X is selected. Also, NVmax says the card is set to 1X. Both bus and card AGP settings are grayed out and not changable in NVMAX.So....do I have only 1X AGP on my board or is NVMAX reading this wrong because my card is only 1X or what?? Really need to know as if my mobo doesn't go above 1X AGP then there's no point in upgrading my vid card, right??Many thanks for all help and replies.michael(ps. using WinME)

This one had me laughing for a while.Pilots flying heavy iron are sometimes known for their lighthearted jibes at pilots of smaller aircraft. One day at Toronto's Pearson International Airport, an A-340 was in linefor departure behind a Fokker F-28, an aircraft that has a tail that splits to act as a large speedbrake. The Airbus captain was heard on the radio, making some comment about the "cute little plane" in front of him and boasting about the brand new jumbo he was flying. In response, the Fokker's fuselage speed brakes opened wide, and overthe radio a very loud, "Pbbbbbbbt!" was heard."I do believe we've been mooned!" said the A-340 first officer to hisCaptain. Take c…

I'm having a wierd glitch with this module. My throttle setting is -128/128 min to max. I set it in the sim and it works fine, but every time I start FS it shows up as -128/512, and I have to reset it. None of the other settings change, and the proper entry shows up in the FSUIPC.INI file. Any ideas? :-hmmm

HiI have downloaded a wingview for the 737-400. In the readme it says that I just have to replace the original left and right.bmp in the panel folder with the new ones. The problem is that the default panel to the 737-400 doesen't contain left and right.bmp files and therefore I can't get it to work. I downloaded it from avsim and it was created by Bengtsson. If anyone can help me please respond.Sean Berntsen
