Has anyone used Michael Lyons Weight & Balance computer?I get nervous when I see only an exe file with no documentation, readme, or other info and WinZip tells me that is is not a standard zip file and can't look inside it.I wish authors would not do this. Even if the file is legit, there is no way to predict what is being done and where the files are going to end up. I have a non-standard installation and often developers don't know how to read the registry properly and it is more trouble to straighten everything out than to just do a manual installation the first time. Running an exe of uncertain source on your machine is always risky anyway. Even if the uploader…

To all, I would like to know if scenery made by Lennart Arvidsson for FS2000 is okay to use with FS2002. It worked great with FS2000 and would to try it with FS2002. Any advice would be most thankful. Thanks in advance. Harry

Hiive tryd to email gary regarding my problems installing his airports but still no reply, after purchasing and downloading the zip files when i go to double click the setup.exe the screen flickers a few times with the install screen then it vanishes no install nothing just back to desktop weird or wot can anyone help also has antone ever seen when i go to start fs2002 an error message comes up saying "DEM4KM.bgl missing or damaged please repair or reinstall fs2002" any ideas people :(cheersAlistair

Okay, since the POSKY forum is down, I'll just post it here. I was landing the CO 764 at KSFO. Speed was about 185-196 knots. The back wheels hit the runway and bounced off. Then The nosewheel also hit and bounced. Finally the back wheels came back down and I finally had a touchdown. Is there anyway to fix the bouncing? I managed to programme my General Aviation AI aircraft to make an intersection departure (not use the full length of the runway, but takeoff halfway down) using AFCAD to make a duplicate of the airport with the runway and taxiway shorter. But the tower then gave me clearance to takeoff using the full length while an AI aircraft further down was also taking off.Does anyone know a better way of doing this so you don't get two aircraft taking off at the same time on the same runway?

And in general, I've read posts where someone has watched an aircraft crash, but I've never seen that happen until yesterday.Approx 6 miles out at KTPA, Air Canada B767 descended into the ground and vanished.So why do they do that? Any ideas from more experienced sim flyers?Is there something we can do? Or is this a problem with an air file etc.?Thanks, Rick

Hi guy's! I was Just Listning to my scanner last night, and I heard a couple flights get cleared to a block Altitude?? What does this mean?? I heard a Continental Flight leaving my home Airport of PHNL Intl, and the controller said Continental #72 Heavy,cleared to block flight level 320-340.?? And A United flight #863-the controller said Untited #863 Heavy, cleared to flight level 340 block altitude cancelled?? What does this Block Flight Levels mean?? Just curious so i understand it next time I hear them say that! MIKE -:)

I have only downloaded a few mesh files due to my dial up cnx. Now that I have broadband Im interested in what everyone uses for Mesh. Currently I have Eddie Denney's for New England and the Southeast plus some Alaska. I went to FSGenesis and Im a bit bewildered by the options. Im guessing the 75m mesh is good for overall with areas i like upgraded to 38m. I mostly fly in the States with an occasional jaunt to island ares in the Carribean and S. Pacific. I don't mind payware either if its decent. Currently Im running an AMD 1.4GHZ T-bird, Voodoo 5, 512mb ram, WIN98SE.Hornit

A few weeks ago, I started messing with the sound options in FS2002. I turned the Engine way up, and turned ATC way down. Basically did a bunch of crap that I didn't really want to do. So, my question. Is there a way to reset the default sound levels without re-installing FS2002? Maybe someone who has the defaults can take a screen shot of the sound options screen and post it for me. The engines are way to loud, and I have to turn my amplified speakers way down, and then I miss everything ATC says to me because I can't hear it. Please help.

Hi all, I need some info on Changing Ram or I should say upgrading RAM on my new DELL 8200 1.7 GHZ System. I want to put more RAM in, I have 256 now I want it to be 512 MB RAM. But In the Comp book it syas to Change the RAM By Pairs, and I have RDRAM, And if I had to buy two from DELL it would be close to $450 dollars!!!!! DAYUm so Expensive! Why Cannot I just add another 256MB stick Of ram Like I did to my old Comp, Instead I hakf to but them in pairs Now! I uploaded a 172 R or SP panel last Fall and intended to put together an airfile package for it. Ron Freimuth and I kicked files back and forth for a while and Ron did some great things with the engine. I never could get the plane to feel right however. I compared all the numbers with the FS2K one which flies beautifully and is a very good model of my real plane. No matter what I did, the FS2000 plane just sucked dead toads. I am in a bit of a dilemma in terms of whether to purchase a new video card or not. I am currently running an Thunderbird 950 on an Asus A7V with 512 Crucial PC133 and a GF2MX/200. I have seen a Gainward GF3 TI200 for $124.00 (US). This is a Golden Sample Card which comes from the factory overclocked and from what I read, can still be overclocked more to the speeds of a GF3 TI500 and still remain stable. My question is that I have read a lot of the debate in terms of FS2K2 being limited by CPU vs. Video Card. Will my set-up be a bottle neck in terms of a new video card? I am getting decent frames with all sliders nearly 80% except ATC now with my FPS limited to 15. …
