Hey!, I was just buzzing the flightsim.com forums where I stumbled across someone with a program that can convert mdl files to gmax readable dxf files. I just want to know where I can get that program. Many ThanksMoses

The reason I say this is it seams each sim is lacking horribly in one department or another IMHO. FS2002, lacks flight dynamics ( in various departments), Fly lacks scenery but has good systems modeling, and X-plane has good flight modeling but lacks scenery and systems modeling IMHO. I have always been a fan of MS for their versility, not their flight modeling. When it comes to flight modeling and FS2002, subsonic is "okay" I suppose and above that it utterly suc.s! I have been a big fan of X-plane due to its ability to model flight, especially at high speed and high altitude. I was a fan of Fly but am not sure what happened there.. I remember seeing a post awhile back saying that the famous Kai Tek Checkboard approach was retired and a new airport built. Does the old airport still exist in FS2k2. Is my rendition of the story correct? What is the identifier of the airport (is it Kai Tek, or is the approach called Kai Tek?) 4 questions in fact; 1) Is it yet possible to change the way certain areas are categorized in fs2002? That is can I for example change a farm region to look like a city region? without having to redesign new scebery for it ?2) Has anyone been able to resolve the blue haze issue in the game? low visibility with overcast clouds is a joke.. looks way too weird to be as real as it gets! I'll be flying with the sun just about to set and then all of the sudden the outside world turns to nightime. Then 10-20 mins later its back to twilight again. This happens on a lot of flights. I used to get the same thing in FS2000. Any ideas. Thanks Dave

Hi folks,i downloaded initial FS2002 release, both version IAE and CFM, of IADG A320 (you know, the package with Condor and Aero Lloyd liveries).In that package model.IAE was coupled with A320_2k2v4.6.air and model.CFM with A320_2k2v4.6n.air.Today i downloaded two new A320 from precision.sim site; both (MEA and Spanair) were IAE but i do not know why .air file is A320_2k2v4.6n instead of A320_2k2v4.6.Can anyone please explain what does this means?My intention is simply to add the two texture packages and create two new liveries adding respective entries in aircraft.cfg.Thanks in advanceLuigi ;-)

Hi, The idle speed for C182RG is too high 1000 RPM.Idle speed for C182SP is 600 RPM.This happened after I installed FSUIPC 2.85.In FSUIPC the negative throttle setting only goes to (-16192, 16192).Settings for King air 350 perfect.Calibrated CH YOKE USB + PRO PEDALS USB with CH Control manager.Sensitivity settings seem to be correct.Any of you have this happen to you?Any advice very welcome.Thanks.

I just downloaded the FS SCreen from here, but I need a free program to compress the JPEG file to post here for screen shots! I have been using what I have on my Comp which is MS Image tool, which makes the picture pretty crapy!Someone mentioned these to get for screenshots...Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop Elements, where do i get these programs and are they free?? I like this airplane so much I decided to compare FS2002 performance figures with real world specs for the aircraft: it came up short..Real world figures state a maximum attained speed btweeen 1133 MPH at fl350 to to 1322 MPH or 1150 knots between fl350 and 360 ( from another source ). The Alpahsim version is only capable of 709 knots grnd speed or mach 1.25 or so at fl350. This is achieved by a slight dive out of fl410. What happened with the flight model is my question? Also remember, this is on my system: yours might vary. I was simply wondering if anyone else has noticed this anomoly:)Thanks, Sawacs

I got a geforce4 mx420 64mb Agp card and after installation, following all procedures, it freezes as soon as the windows screen starts to load. Has anyone had this problem? It says to make sure the motherboard has the updated drivers. Can someone me which driver I am looking for the motherboard? When looking under device manager I found different devices such as Pentium3XXXX AGP......, motherboard resources...,and so on. Which one are they talking about. I am getting an error when I start up FS2K2 standard, reporting that the GPS engine did lot load and I can't use the flight planenr because of it. I didn't install anything to cause this to happen, it just started doing it. Anyone know why or how I can fix it without reinstalling again (reinstalling fixes it for a while)?

Has anyone else seen the runway suddenly disappearing then re-appearing as they roll down it when taking off. Usually only happens when the speed gets quite high. If you want to see what I mean try going to KCIU and taking off. I'm sure there's other airports where the same thing happens. Does anyone know why?

I've always missed a feature that you find in many military sims like Jane's USAF or Novalogic F-22 that give you a simple fly-by view. This requires the software moving the camera intelligently as you move about.I particularly like watching my takeoffs and landings and the default camera position at most airports is miles away and very high up from the active runway (often with a bldg obstructing the view).I know I can use map view to move the tower by dragging the icon and adjusting the altitude, but this is a pain. Can someone design a module that intelligently moves the camera to the same general area and altitude of the aircraft so I can get a quick instant replay …

I have been wondering about this and I have heard mixed stories.I am looking into buying some more RAM for my P-4 1.6ghz.I currently have 256MB-SDRAM and I want to know if I can change from SD to DDR or RD RAM.1)I know that P4 was optimized for RDRAM.Can I use SDRAM and DDR or RD RAM together? Hello!I am trying Nav 3 out. I'm using it on a different machine in my network. I see my own plane and the AI-planes around it. But I don't see my flight plan. I used both Steve Small's blown and unblown Baron58 versions. I lost them because I had to perform a reformat/reinstall of XP and FS2002pro (no decent backup--long unpleasant story). I know this has been asked before, but has anyone recently come acoss a site where they can be obtained? I haven't tried to reach "Essjay," because I figure he is upset with all flight sim people, even those of us who used and appreciated his work, and, for that reason, it is best not to disturb him requesting his air. files. Well, after 2 year using ATi 64MB DDR VIVO, and having it locking up all the time since I chnaged my mabo and CPU,I decided to get Nvidia. I got GF3(not TI, but plain GF3), which is 5th fastest Nvidia grpahic card avaiable. (if you include GF4 TI4200)It was $179, but $149 because Open Box, and then -$40 rebate, so I got it for $109.Results, check screenshots... I donwloaded the only upgrade that I know of for TNCM, labeled SXCM from Flightsim (I believe it was SXCM). Anyway, I have repeated the process a number of times, b/c #1 I love the addition, it really brings life to the area!, and #2 b/c I get a dreaded "double rwy!How can I either get rid of the old rwy, or adjus it so that it is substantially overlapped. to the point where it doesn't matter? When I say double rwy, I don't mean side by side, but rather two rwys that start apart at the runup end of 9, and converge to a point, kind of like a 3-d effect I suppose. Has anybody gotten the KDTW scenery in the file library (file name kdtw30) to unzip correctly? I have d/l'd it three times and tried with both the XP utility and Winzip, but it doesn't unzip correctly. It keeps shutting down Explorer or gives error warnings when I try to unzip the main file or try to unzip the two files inside the main one (when opened by XP). Any suggestions or are others having similar problems?
