Heard about an infamous "exclude switch" in fs2002.cfg. Anyone know how to activate it or turn it on in order to prevent an old rwy from showing up over the new one that I just downloaded for an airport? I have the ATR42-300 and can't tune the decimal digit on the ADF. The radio is the King Air. When I went to the default King Air I found that it too would not tune the decimal digit. Is there something missing in the radio setup for the King Air and the ATR-42? I did make the mods to the aircraft.cfg file to make the Comm and NAV radios useable in the ATR that was previously posted here at Avsim. Thanks, Bob.

I have a question about wind direction. If FSNavigator is reporting wind at 270/65 does that mean that the wind is blowing FROM the west or TOWARD the west? I am currently flying from Honolulu to Los Angeles with these winds and the aircraft is fighting a definite headwind. Thanks for any help!!John-Paul

I purchased Fly to Hawaii for FS2000 last fall, been waiting for the 2002 version for quite sometime now.... received an email from them over a month ago saying April...all their website says is taking preorders for 2002, coming soon... does anyone have any idea when the 2002 version is going to be available???Chris

Go download some sound files... I don't think I can stress this enough IMHO.. I just finished downloading 10 sound files for various aircraft from Soundworks I think and a couple of others and oh boy! What an incredible experience. I already had a couple of jet sounds downloaded and decided to try some prop sounds.. I am now stuck like stink on well ya know with the seafire sounds and a spitfire I downloaded.. If ya close your eyes and listen as the plane passes the tower ( slight uphill climb recommended when doing tower flyby with eyes closed ), it sounds like your at an airshow.. Anyone know if there are some good B-17's available to download? I've tried the "search" in the library, but I'm doing something wrong because I never find anything. HiI appologise for putting an off-topic post but I have no idea who to ask about this and I know that there are a lot of clever guys/gals around here.For the past few weeks I have been receiving between 1 and 2 viruses daily in the e-mail. It's a different address every time and different contents of the e-mail. Some e-mails say nothing, it's just an attachment that tries to save itself on hte HDD. Except there's no love and passion in this story...My system is a P4 1,5 256 RAM GF2 TiWhen I first got FS2002 I got 20+ FPS in Meigs (spot), all sliders maxed but no clouds at all...Then, I installed all those goodies that claim to give betetr FPS...Cacheman, that can free some RAM and avoid Windows to laod useless data on it. I started Cacheman before starting FS and I used to free up to 100 MB of RAM so I could have 200 MB free for FS. This "would" improve performance. Hi,Often when I fly at dawn or dusk, the runway is dark and barely visible but FS already turned the runway lights off (dawn) or haven't turned them on yet (dusk). Is there a way to force FS to turn on the runway lights?ThanksPini

I have recently upgraded my PC. I now have an ASUS P4B266-C Motherboard with a Pentium 4 1.6GB chip. I also upgraded my graphics card to a GeForce4 MX 420. I run the system with Windows 2000.After the upgrade, I had to reinstall all the programs. I had to improve the AntiVirus from Norton's 2000 to 2002 that runs in the background. The rest were the same programs I used before, including FS2002.Since then, I cannot fly FS2002 (on line or off) without it freezing and sending me a message telling me that it found a problem, asking if I want to send it to Microsoft or not, and if I want to restart FS2002 (I attach a screen shot). Does anyone else have a problem with Airport 2000 Vol 3 patched for FS2002 and very Slow frame rate. I have gone done to mins on the scenery and I still can not get the frame rate up. Even flying across the bay and I pan toward the airport the frame rate drops from 20 fps to 3-5 fps. On approach I get 2-3 fps and I have it down to min scenery on FS2002. I was wondering what the problem is. This happens with KSFO. If anyone has a solution please let me know. I m running a P-III 966 with max memory and AYI card 7200. Everywgere else I get 15-25 fps. Hey y'all, I just have to ask even thought I doubt anyone will answer. If you can, plz do! I work for a small regional airline in British Columbia, called Hawkair. It utilizes a small fleet of 3 Dash 8-100's. I see that there is a white-default Dash 8 available for repaints in the avsim file library. I was just wondering if anyone out there who knows how to paint g-max aircraft could possibly paint it in Hawkair's very simple livery. The aircraft are basically all white with a logo on the tail, and the back of the aircraft. Hi AllRecently started using Squawk Box in conjunction with FS Nav 4.5. Just want to know how do I generate a Flight Plan via FS Nav and manually be able to control, speed, Altitude and vertical speed without these being automatically imputed when you activate Fly Flight plan in conjunction with the A/P of the aircraft.Any assistance appreciated.Kenny G.

Whats the deal?? On my approach sometimes, i'm informed that i will be landing on 21 right(or whatever rwy). All the way until I contact the tower they change the rwy to 3 left(or whatever rwy). At this point i'm 6 miles out!!!!! Whats going on??? What do I need to do and does this happen to naybody else?? please help...Thanks

Haven't heard anything about this ... the playback of replays recorded during FS2002Pro flights is very jerky, even on very fast computers. Is there any fix for this??????

Has anyone gotten the CH Yoke USB 3-lever yoke to work properly in FS98? First of all, I guess I should let all of you people wandering why Im still using FS98, and its all because of FPS. I do use FS2002 alot, but I like to load up my sim with scenery and still get decent frames on my Athlon 850, GeForce2MX 64MB. So anyways, back to my problem....the yoke shows up on the menu as a joystick, but it doesnt allow me to assign any axes to it. Im assuming that this is a .cfg edit that I havent figured out yet, but was hoping that someone else has already gone through it. Thanks for your help.Craig

Just Updated info on tweaking the GF4TI and GF3 cards for the best image quality for FS.This does not work for GF4MX cards. If you are looking for image quality, I recommend GTU as it is generally kept up to date and there is a version that will work with your drivers. I've got an amazing PSS A320 in JMC colours and the equally good flight model of a DC-10 by FFG in JMC colours.I am unable to get ATC to give my the callsign 'J.M.C' though. Anyone have any ideas?Best Regards

I was cleared to the ILS on RWY 1 at FACT (CapeTown) last night. I dialed in the ILS frequency listed on the FS2K2 map (110.3), but no ILS. I triple checked the numbers...no ILS.
