Sometimes you get so caught up with things that you fail to see the fine print (the story of my life and the cause of a lot of trouble - always the small print). This time, I just noticed that I had feedback. Only been a couple of days. Thanks guys, you know how to make a gal feel good.Even without those, I'd like to say that the AVSIM community, just like the atmosphere of many airfields I've been at, has gone a long ways in making me feel welcome and at home.We have our squabbles and disagreements, of course, but all-in-all, this is a great group of people here and the help that is so often readily offered for us novices is sincerely appreciated.THANKS!Sincerest Regards,…

Inspired by the recent discussions about the inexpensive way to get FS in 3D I got the glasses today and installed the Nvidia stereo drivers but have problems.Originally the stereo drivers gave an error msg when I clicked on desktop properties ->advanced, that was with 23.11 drivers now with 28.32 drivers the stereo drivers laod and I am able to view the stereo settings page.As soon as I go to full screen mode in FS I get a black screen and a complete lock-up, no response to key presses including CTRL+ALT+DEL, only a hard reset will bring the PC back.Graphics card GF3Ti200Drivers 28.32Stereo drivers from file 'StereoE.exe'OS Win98SEThere is another stereo driver on Nvi…

Francois,By all the rules extant at the time of the posting regards the Porter, and since, I still don't follow why Avsim got it's knickers in a knot. Nor from the contents of our in-boxes and other comments from others here can many others. The simple fact is I did not post any images, of that there is no argument. I posted a one sentence statement, which as it transpires you posted on the main page. That was a gracious action on your part but it wasn't necessary. What I did was consistent with what PSS, RealAir Simulations and and many other devcelopers have done over time. As for RAS SF-260, I didn't know about that until I saw the images in the screenshot forum (so…

I have to disagree with this policy about commercial posts. This is supposed to be a discussion/news forum. That would include posts about new and upcoming products, or maybe products that are out now for consumers to buy.Instead of full denial of the posts, how about limiting them to certain content. Half the time we can only find out about certain products because someone stumbles across them and tells us. I for one like it when the vendors "show-boat" their products and give us the details of what's going on.I am starting to think that maybe we are becoming a little too restrictive around here. This forum is supposed to be about all things Flightsim, and the produ…

Can we rename this to the "Crabbing and complaining about everything Avsim does" forum?Am I the only one getting tired of all this incessant bickering? We are guests here, period. We don't own it. We don't run it. And we have ZERO say in how its managed. Does that mean the management shouldn't listen to us? No. But they have rules. You agree to those rules when you register. And THEY enforce them, when and how they choose. We went to a movie the other day. Some people in the theatre were talking loudly and annoying others. They continued to do so after being warned. They were shown the door. And they paid to get in. But the theatre has rules, and the ticket…

Just downloaded Bill Lyons' great Goodyear Defender and Skyship 600 Fuji blimps and was asking myself if there happen to be any other airships for FS 2002 in the works. I'd especially enjoy some of the bigger examples, such as these:http://www.pilotundluftschiff.de/zzPL1017.jpghttp://www.pilotundluftschiff.de/zzPL1640.jpgLZ 127 "Graf Zeppelin"http://www.pilotundluftschiff.de/zzPL0205.jpgLZ 130 "Graf Zeppelin II" - sister ship of the ill-fated "Hindenburg"http://www.pilotundluftschiff.de/zzPL0181.jpgThe "Norge" - first airship (semi-rigid) to overfly the North Pole in 1926 on an expedition directed by the great Roald AmundsenComments welcome!

Hi :), I'm having a problem with the flight-planner in FS2002. It used to work ok..but I've added scenery from different sources to the addon scenery directory in FS2002 and also the database scenery section in FS2002 itself. I dont know if it has anything to do with that or if I screwed up the priority of the layers. I try to make a flight plan, then save it..but when it loads it goes back to the default airport at startup and there is no flight plan created. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. See you in the blue, Yoram

I am using wideview on FS2002 with 2 17 monitors side by sideCan anyone explain how to setup 2 views so that therunway does not appear at the edge of the 2 monitor. Whenthe runway is narrow during a landing, it is hidden behind the frames of the monitors. There must be a way to skew theview right or left. I am using the normal cockpit view NOTthe Virtual View.ThanksDoug

WOW, install all of Delta's flight plans and AI aicraft, then go to Atlanta and see how dense it is...even with Proj AI planes, my frames went to 8 with my system using the default Cessna panel. I went to the Delta FP config and changed the 50% to 20% so barely no default FS2002 planes are there, but it is still quite a hit on frames on that location.Any advise? Maybiw removing some flights from Atlanta? Thanks,Bill

I don't see much mention of this aircraft in the forum. I know that 747s are flown on long International flights (particualrly from here in Australia) and I see that the 777s carry a lot of passengers also -so what world air-routes are these used on? Seems to me like they can't be used on really long flights. Thanks Barry

I've noted some talk in the forum pertaining to commercial products. I didn't read the details, so just to be on the safe side...Without mentioning any specific commercial titles, would somebody be kind enough to help me locate the latest and greatest version of the following detailed WX generator? " ...Meteo" Is it as good as people have been saying?I've downloaded the version from the library, but it appears to be specific to FS 98, FS 2000. Is there a newer version available? :)Thanks in advance.

It took me awhile to come to this conclusion with FS2002 but it seems that (maybe it's just my setup or something) my framerate seems to nose dive for no explained reason. I'll start off a flight and head to my destination and everything is fine until I descend to a point where the autogen starts displaying houses and trees, my frame rates go down dramatically (this does not happen all the time but enough to be annoying). On take Off I had no problem, I also noticed this to happen allot in mountainous terrain. While flying in Glacier National Park I found my framerates to drop for no reason and sometimes the situation resolvesitself. Once again takeoffs are fine, I'll fly…

Not so much a fix as an addition which should have been made to the panel. The panel was missing a Master Battery switch which presented a problem when trying to start up the plane from a "cold" cockpit. The Master Avionics switch is in the Radio/Throttle quadrant, BTW.Here is the fix for adding a Master Battery switch to the a320 panel.(The switch is located to the right of the autopilot, at the edge of the screen, on both the full and expanded panel views.)In your a320 panel.cfg file add the following lines with notepad:In the (Window00) section, add this line to the end of the gauge list:gauge32=lear_45!Battery, 994,36,22,22In the (Window05) section, add this line to …

I dont know how frequently or recently this topic has been discussed, but I was wondering why MS hasnt made Flight Simulator compatible with dual proc setups? Im not technologically literate enough to know whether it can even be done or not, but my guess is that MS can just about do anything. With this sim being as dependant as it is on processor speed, why not take advantage of technology that is already out there.I just feel like flight sims dont hit their prime until about 6 months before the next version is out because of programming time and the lag between software and hardware. Then focus shifts to the newest version of FS out and all of the great developers focus …

Well after staring at the pictures on the website for awhile I took the dive that I wish I had not.Iam not here to flame but just to speak of my experince and maybe someone has the same thoughts.Keep in mind i totally respect the work. The visual model is stunning but that's about it .The IFR view is nice and i like it but I bought this plane purely for the VC of Beech V35, which happens to be my favorite plane .The VC gauges are unclear and grainy and I thought I must be seeing things but I wasn't.I know VC's are not really clear to begin with but the bitmaps where just not sharp at all and I figure if iam going to pay for it.It should be clear from the go.Look at FSD and…

I know this has been asked before but can't find the previous post. I am just starting to fly the 737 - I have used it a few times taking it up to only around 10,000 feet - with the purpose of practicing landings. However, I have now completed the first default Europe adventure where you fly at 27000'. I noticed that , using the autopilot, the aircraft had a pronounced up and down oscillation in flight. As I came in to land, the oscillation seemed to go away..Any ideas? Thanks Barry

Hi,Whenever 'spot view' is selected or you select 'spot view' from 'view options' it always seems to be positioned about half way down the aircraft and half way up. Is there a way of raising this to higher view above the aircraft?E.g. So if you enter 'view options', the default red line would appear higher up.Any info, ThanksMark

Hi, maybe I'm just really stupid but I can't find that autotune option at all. Where do I find it?Thanks in advanceRegards,Martin

Hi,Yesterday I have uploaded a USERWPT database with appr. 16500 local European intersections. These intersections are mostly used in SID/STARs and therefor not part of the default database generated by Reality-XP.So far only Europe, but if there's a need for other areas, let me know.
