I'd really appreciate any suggestions or help that anyone can give with the following unreliability problems with FS2002. I've just about run out of ideas. They started about 3 weeks ago with occasional system crashes but they have became more & more common until now when all flights end in a crash. As far as I can remember I've made no recent significant changes to either FS or the system that might cause this problem but all I can now think of doing is a complete re-installation of Windows, which I DEFINITELY want to avoid if at all possible.SYMPTOMSAny of the following failure modes can happen, with no discernable pattern, they can occur from a few seconds to an hour…

I am trying to organize the folders in my aircraft folder. Most of the folders are in alphabetical order, however, some folders seem to be STUBBORN! No matter what I rename them, adding a zero at the beginning to bump them up alphabetically, they persist in occupying the same position, or moving to a different position... not quite alphabetically in order.I copied a guilty folder outside the aircraft folder, made a new folder with a different name, copied the contents back in the new folder........same result.Anybody experience anything like that?.......PUZZLED!!!!Would appreciate any help.Thanks.Abe

Hi!I have been lurking here for the past several weeks or so and I have been doing some searching but no luck as come out of it and I thought some of you could assist me. Like most of you, I have been downloading sceneries/airports/meshes and my question is, what is the total amount of sceneries can FS2k2 handle? The reason why I ask is because once I reached 350 or so, my scenery.cfg kept deleting my old sceneries that were previously listed. Thank you for your time. take careJulian

Hi, everyone. I need some help. The pushback feature in FS2002 doesn't seem to work on my system. I can go back in a straight line no probs. but i can't turn to save my life! I keep pressing the 1 and 2 keys as hard as i can (thinking they might be sticky) but to no avail. I've fiddled with the numpad/numlock, looked up the help and all the rest but i can't get my planes to change direction when being pushed-back. Have i missed something blindingly obvious, or are there others out there with this problem?

After studying the panel and VC of the new Caranedo V-Tail for some time, I decided the only real problem with them is the Attitude indicator. It really looks awful and detracts badly from what I think is otherwise a fine panel. This instrument tends to be the first thing your eyes go to, so if it s**ks, it really lowers the impression of the whole panel.Fortunately, the default Cessna Attitude indicator is a near perfect replacement, looks much better, and is easily substituted with four changes to the panel.cfg file.As always, backup panel.cfg before editing. In the section replace:gauge51=BeechV7!Attitude, 358,350,100with:gauge51=cessna!Attitude, 358,350,100In the sec…

I've uploaded to the file library a landclass update for Mexico City, as another demonstration of what's possible with my proggie, Landclass Assistant. If any of you have seen the default FS2002 Mexico City scenery, it appears as a largely rural area, with very little in the way of built up urban textures. I've reassigned the textures to something more representative of the densely populated urban center that Mexico City is.This is the type of project possible with Landclass Assistant--from start to finish it took me less than one hour. You can find the Mexico City update along with Landclass Assistant (and its updates) in the file lib. by searching under "landclass"..…

Hello,I have a P4 1.7Ghz computer running Windows ME. When I first start FS2002 it runs just fine but it slowly starts to run slower and slower and stutter more and more. Eventually my textures start to dissapear. When I shut down FS2002 everything else I do on the computer does not work correctly. This causes me to reboot my system. I suspect its the horrid memory manager that comes with Windows ME.I tried FS2002 on a friends computer running Windows XP and it never slowed down. He can open and close FS2002 as many times as he wants and it never runs slower. Windows XP has a much better memory manager. I am willing to upgrade if it solves my problems but not sure…

Just a quick "heads up". Should be in the library tomorrow or so.Full package including panel, sounds, etc. Please read the readme for full credits... these folks deserve major kudos. Hi,my 2nd question to you, especially those users of the german version of fs2002 pro. Thomas Molitor (i think) had the same problem. There is a tool "TAXISPEED" that should change the taxispeed. In my verion, it does not change the taxispeed (yes, i restartet fs2002 and the whole system).1. Is any information out there how to fix this2. Even if the general taxispeed gets higher (perhaps around 20 to 25 kts or so), i think the normal taxispeed of fs2002 is ok and the real problems are the following: - the speed of the aircraft on the runway after landing if the next taxiway is "miles away" is to low - the speed of the aircraft approaching a waypoi…

Hello Mike,Your work is amazing, and greatly appreciated! Thanks to you, the skies over virtual Texas are filled with A320's. :) The new Piper is another great work. Just in case some readers may have missed it, here's another pic, this time with a repaint of reflective textures and chrome spinner (at KPEZ). In the busy everyday life of enjoying the world of Flight simulation it can be easy to for get about all the hard work that fellow simmers do to make the flight sim world even better. It seems that there is no shortage of enthusiasm for making new scenery, aircraft, utilities, entire programs or anything else that makes the Fightsim world very VERY enjoyable. With the constant barage of worldly concerns and such, it is a pleasure to be able to look forward to a flight sim session just to relax and enjoy the freedom of flight with all the contributions that have been made by others. THANK YOU to all of you contributors of freeware, payware, and everything in between includi…

After years of simming, I finally junked the tiny built in computer speakers and hooked my sound card to a full scale sound system. I am using some really old Wharfdale W-80 speakers, floor standing models with excellent base. What a difference in how much it adds to the sim. Also, my thanks and compliments to MS for its default sound files, and I can hardly wait to begin downloading some of the Aaron Swindle and other sound files.Sherman KaplanHighland Park IL

Recently, I've been having some issues with the auto pilot and a/c speed settings. I am using FSNavicator in conjunction with MS FS2002. Everything seems to be ok when I initiate the auto-pilot. However, after sometime (possible a certain altitude), the speed starts dropping to almost 300 kts. This happens with all my aircrafts. Also, the funny part is that this has started happening very recently. I used to have perfect auto pilot flights at 480 kts and above without any problems.I would appreciate if someone can help me with this problem. I'm losing sleep over it :-)Thanks.

Hello all, I would like to explain the events of the last few days, as well as set the record straight. As many of you know, someone from fsfactory.com gathered all of your email addresses and 'spammed' you about the site. This is entirely unacceptable. I was in no way involved and knew nothing of these actions until I was informed by Scott. As a result of this, I have completely dissociated myself from the offender and from fsfactory.com. The Starship project once again (and for good) lives at Avsim.com. Thank you for hearing me out, and let's all go back to our lives as usual. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you. …

Today was my first try at flying a jet (I've always been partial to props). What a blast! :-smile12. If you want to see how it went, check out my pics on the screen shot forum [http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=4550&forum=DCForumID47&archive=]. My question is this - I took my training flights in an Embraer ERJ-145, and I really enjoyed this plane. Is there a payware version of this plane (or similar small jet) that comes with VC and other goodies that is worth getting? I really stunk my first few flights, but now I think I'm getting the hang of it, and I want to explore. As an aside, could someone please tell me how to attach UR…
