Last night I searched for an hour for some past threads explaining the arcs, seconds, LOD etc of terrain mesh by the gurus. I've seen them but now I can't find them again. Could someone post a link if they have one please? I was interested in this because I read about the new meshes by Lago of Europe and wanted to compare the facts. It's all very confusing? Thanks for your replies, I'll be back!Charles

I've misplaced a recent thread asking for copter challenges, but I was reminded of this when I saw the cover of New Zealand Aviation News. You can download the cover http://www.aviationnews.co.nz/current.html

I don't know if I spelled scid right.......Anyway, FS2002 never ceases to amaze me.....I didn't know that when you land your aircraft upon a runway, the tires actually leave "scid marks". If you haven't seen it; land and go back to where you touched down and there you will find YOUR scid marks! Amazing!Paul

Heather sent me the Grumman Duck she has been using and I really like it and how it flys except that it keeps wanting to wander off to the left all the time, except on autopilot, Have tried the aileron and rudder trim but doesn't seem to help at all.Supposidly the Num5 button is suppost to center the rudder and ailerons but have seen that happen yet with any aircraft(Num lock off or on). Have enclosed the Flt. Tuning section from the cfg file, is anything needed to be changed?? I recently bought the video card yesterday and i was wondering how do you get the anti-alising featuure, "SmoothVison" to work in FS? In the display proberites i have it set at 16x and to quality. The buildings in FS look jagged, and they dont look smooth. I have all my hardware and display properties set to max and checked. Other then that the video card is great, compared that of to my old GF MX420! 13. Lately I have been in conversation with the granddaughter of Robert Noorduyn, the fellow who designed and built the Norsemen. A very nice lady with a web site. She wrote to me: "To be honest with you, my initial interest in this project was to preserve the memories of my grandfather and as a vehicle to help him meet enthusiasts of his father's plane on the internet. My grandmother has been ill for several years and I think it's been a great thing for him to concentrate on instead of worrying about her health. I'm just now getting the "norseman bug" from it all...Also, as far as I know, there is no financial gain in it for me, but I do love hearing from people all over t…

I just downloaded a rather nice looking repaint of the default Dash 8 in Air Canada Jazz colours, but there's one problem with it - when viewed from the right side, the logo and writing are the wrong way round :-(http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d3824c96975ab07.jpgAlso, I've found a panel for the Dash 8, but I keep getting a "3rd party software may cause problems with FS2002" message for the gauge dc9.hsi2.gau... Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks,Dave.

Boy their press release sure does brag that this is the "crown jewel" of FS2002 addons. Pretty major claim to make. I checked the screen shots and the DC-10 and the panel seem to be less than stellar visual quality. The cockpit bitmap seemed FS98 blurry.I want a good DC-10 panel that lives up to DF, PIC and Capt. Sim standards.Anyone else seen this product?Dave

For you new T-38 lovers flying the Thunderbirds paint scheme version, I found this tutorial that may be just the answer to add various colors of smoke to the aircraft. There is a nice tutorial on how to alter the aircraft.cfg file to incorporate the smoke capability.I am at work now so I can't verify that the technique really works, but it appears that it is doable. Pressing the "I" key will toggle smoke on and off. It also allows you to add several smoke trails to wherever you want them on the aircraft. This sounds like a nice weekend project to enhance an already "outstanding" aircraft. Have fun and I hope it works!Keith Last file located at: [http://www.fsfreeware.com…

I like the latest ServInfo (and the old) quite a bit.;) The latest one allows you to place a new "communications" gauge into your FS cockpits.:-kewl The gauge allows one to see what ATC controllers are available and to switch RW channels to any local ATC while using SquawkBox and connecting to VATSIM (or IVAO).However, I keep getting major FS errors when I load up FS, FS multi (host), SBhost, SB/RW, then enter aircraft cockpit. The errors "FS2002.exe asin: overload" and "pow: overload" keep popping up and I have to exit FS to get rid of them.Anyone else having success or problems with the new gauge? Is Project AI dead in the water? There has not been anything new on there site since they reopened. An example is the flight plans for Delta Airlines. They took that off there list since it had problems and promised to have it back in a week. That was over three weeks again. Can a site like this make it with no forward movement? The site wants donations but with lack of any type of advancement in the project who would anyone want to donate any money to a sinking ship. I would donate money if I saw that it was alive and well and not stalled for weeks and weeks. I hope the project makes it, but I am bored in waiting for new things to happen. I think waiting for mor…

Okay, I know it's superficial, but here goes. It seems like MS likes to show off technologies in one release, and perfect them in the next. So for FS2004 I'm looking for Autogen to look much more realistic and seem as though it actually sits on the ground. I'm also looking, hoping, and praying for, all of the aircraft to be updated to have photorealistic textures, virtual cockpits (I'd kill for my Mooney to have a VC :-( )I'd also love to see MS put a lot more effort into the weather formatting, now that the scenery is finally good enough for VFR. There's something mythical about watching a thunderstorm in its fury, and something emotionally moving about a full on vie…
