Hi folks.I currently have a CH Flight Sim Yoke USB. I also have the older (Gameport) CH VPPro with Rudder Pedals. I have both connected, then disabled all but the rudder axis for the older system. This lets me use the USB yoke with the older pedals. I'm now having some problems (after a recent WindowsME OS reload). Specifically, no matter how many times I recalibrate, I cannot get right-rudder to fully deflect, even in the Control Panel joystick applet.I'd like to rule out the old yoke as a possible source of errors. Does anyone know if it's possible to run the pedals right into the gameport? I know it's not DIRECTLY possible, but perhaps there's a utility out ther…

I had a problem in FS2K and it appears to occur in FS2K2. When I fly a long flight (hours) the frame rates drop to below 5 FPS. I just flew ATL-Aruba in a FFG 757 with Radar Contact. Hit some clouds (which killed frame rate) toward the end of the flight. Dropped out of the clouds for approach and rates stayed in the 5-8 range. From all view points (spot as well as cockpit)... stayed that way all the way through taxi. Was it the clouds? Are they that big a FR killer? Or is RC? Or is something piling up in RAM? In regards to wind direction in METAR's, would the wind direction given as 15006KT mean that the wind is blowing "FROM" 150 degrees at 06 KTS or "TO" 150 degrees at KTS. If you're a visual person like me, here are a couple of shot to help:"FROM"http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d35ee834927676b.jpg"TO"http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d35eea149882adb.jpgThank you so very much for helping me through this troubled tim :-lolMike

It was good to see MSFS 2002 in a positive light on CNN for a change. They had a demonstration this morning on how easy it was to create add-ons for games, discussing what communities really do to enhance various software out there. At any rate, they created a "Harry Potter" broomstick with two huge fanjet engines using Gmax and then imported it into MSFS2002 so that viewers could see it in the sim. It was a very unique aircraft needless to say.

What impacts FS 2K2 Frame Rates and general operation the most?( ) CPU (1.1 MHZ P4 or AMD XP)( ) Motherboard FSB To 256?( ) More Memory Type (upgrading PC-133 to DDR)( ) Faster Hard Drive (Current 7200)( ) Faster Video Card with More Memory? (Current GEFORCE 2 MX 400 w /64M)( ) Other Please describe. Please rate (order of impact or importance) 1-6 one choice per item. So if Video Card is #1 you would rate (1) for Faster Video Card. 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 for the other categories. Thanks!Barry

Hi!In FS2000, once you had a GPS flightplan loaded, and your GPS/NAV selector was set to GPS, an arrow on your HSI would point to your next waypoint... All you would have to do is line it straight-up, and catch any drift left or right. It was easy to do this without the autopilot too... Go after the drift and make sure the arrow is completely vertical. Right?Well on FS2002... I just can't seem to do that! Here's the problems with FS2002 >>>#1. When a flight plan is loaded, and the selector is set to GPS, I can still change the HSI arrow by changing the course selector! I shouldn't be able to do that right? WHAT IS SUPPOSED to point me in the direction of my next wa…

As a MAC / X-Plane user for many years, I finally decided to buy a PC and FS2K2. The experience has been GREAT so far. :) I have also really enjoyed and appreciated the helpfulness and good nature of everyone on this forum. So can anyone tell me where to find the FS2K2 .cfg file and how to modify it? Also, is FS2K2 Direct X or Open GL? I am using a GF4MX and the Direct X mod options seem very limited. Thanks,Astro

I have 512mb of PC133 RAM and run Win98SE, with Cacheman on fairly high disk cache maximum - 45 mb, their recommended gamer setting. As 2K2 seems to fill up some 200mb worth of memory addresses on load, do you think:1. A settings/scenery cache of 100 is OK - if not more or less?2. Higher Cacheman disk cache numbers mean less reserved by Windows - so does that mean if I grabbed a 200-ish mb cache with Cacheman it would be a jolly good thing?3. Does the 2K2 settings/scenery cache fight with Cacheman's cache for memory?I have ConservativeSwapFileUsage=1 in system.ini, and a fixed size swap file of 500.All observations welcome.PH

Ok,i gotta gripe about this!Alot of times im thinking im downloading a plane, only to see .BMP files. Some of these skins are a few megs, and thats ok, but when i want "aircraft" i want "aircraft"...not skins! Some of the descriptions dont even say if there planes or skins.I do a search and look for a particular plane, and all i get is pages of skins,or yet another commercial boeing 747. Everything is all mixed together, making it nerve racking and confusing. This is a great site for a great game, but that part of the search engine is F***ED UP!!.. :) Thanx,=swiv=

I've been building a home cockpit loosely based on the Flight1 Cessna 421 and I have just a few questions about things I can't seem to find on the panel. First, all single engine planes I know have carb heat. I can't seem to find this on the 421C or on any twin for that matter. Is it because they are fuel injected or something? Second, should there be cowl flaps on a plane like the 421C. Lastly, the switch panel has two switches for L&R pumps, each with a high and low setting (but no off). I assume these are fuel pumps. I've found that even real checklists don't talk much about the fuel pumps. Should they be on, off, on high, low etc. and during what parts of the flig…

Although, if I had the money necessary to buy everything to build it, I'd save myself the trouble and buy an airplane instead. And if I had the know-how to put it together, I'd be working for NASA.Impressive none the less.

Does anybody know of current Boston scenery? I'm referring to one that has the completed US Airways terminal, and Terminal E in some sort of disrepair (It's undergoing a massive remodel) Terminal A is currently being remodeled by Delta to add gates- the current terminal will be the lobby for the new.TIA,Tim

Hello all,I recently purchased Austrain Airports and German Airports 1. The problem I have is that Innsbruck is being overwritten by both programs because they both update Innsbruck (lowi). I like the Austrain version better so how do I keep the Austrian version from being overwritten by GAP1? Any ideas?BTW, both sceneries are well worth the money! Some of the most FLUID scenery as far as FPS are concerned and highly detailed with lots of action I might add!
