Hi,My new OC has arrived - Athlon XP2000 with 64Graphics card and 512 ram. I have just loaded FS2002, and was wondering what frame rate I should aim to get. Currently it is set at 30fps with most seetings in the middle. I am not sure quite how this clocked FPS thing works.Does anyone know what sort of frames I should expect?Keith

Is there any difference in the image quality in fs2002 when using 16 bit or 32 bit color. My frame rates really improve when I'm in 16 bit color and I notice no difference in the imagery.

hey guys,I just today bought the new GeForce 4 ti 4200 card thinking that would solve my low framerate problems. Well it didnt. We did discover however that my computer has 128MB of ram and that is the main culprit of playing FS2002. So I looking to upgrade to a total of 256 MB of ram . Will this be enough to play the game smoothly without clocking my harddrive?? What MB of ram are all of you using out there? Thanks for any help.

MS has cleared out the sub-par visuals posted on their new CFS3 Web site about a week ago and replaced them with some far more impressive views:http://www.microsoft.com/games/combatfs3/screens.aspThe low-level storm clouds as seen in the shot taken from the bomber's cockpit look very persuasive to me; on the other hand the clouds in the parachute screenshot don't have the same impact. And the truck close-up shows what has to be the most believable vehicle I've seen in a sim, with the exception of its tires.

Here's my suggestion if you experience some studdering or drastic frame drops at high PAI airports. Disable the Multi-texturing option. What you will lose is water textures, but I'm not a pond jumper usually. What you'll gain is framerate and more important a smoother sim. At O'hare, with everything at atleast 90% my performance went up from about 12 to 18 fps, but again I was most pleased with how the sim flew with less jitters. My system is a P1.8, 512 Rdram, gf500ti, XP (slightly tweaked but not overclocked).Anyway, give it a try for fun and compare results with your previous setting. It works for me. Ok, I just bought a used FF2 joystick to try my hand at the combat sims for a change from fs2002. The device uses a USB port and I didn't think there would be any software necessary. None came with the joystick.I have a VIA chipset which apparently requires a software update (provided from MS) for the FF2 joystick to work with the chipset. This is available at the Sidewinder site. The problem is that when I try to install the update, it tells me that I must install the controller's software. Where do I get this software? Greetings All,I was just browsing around this morning, after deciding that I not longer liked all of the popups and slow loading that intelicast has elected to implement, I then went to NOAA and the US NWS and discovered these images. I am posting them here so you can see they update all by themself. I hope that is true because the image has "latest.gif" in its source.The following is just mumbling out loud.Now gauge designers, and XLM programers, why can't we make a gauge that will import this image directly into FS2002. Will developers please upload to Avsim as well as, and preferable instead of, to Flightsim.comI have just spent 30 minutes trying to login to Flightsim - and given up - and just 5 seconds logging into Avsim.I assume that developers want to display their work to the flight sim community but if it is impossible to get to their work reasonably easily then enthusiasts are going to give up trying and their great efforts will be wasted.Nels Anderson will have us believe that there are all sorts of reasons why he has to restrict the number of nodes available for login. Hi all,first off this is awesome plane to fly and I love the VC I think one of the best I ever flown, but I have one thing against it is when it comes flying the IFR. The current HSI is worthless, no ADI or DME information available and using the limited GPS unit is very hard. So I guess my question is there a plan to modify or add a better HSI or can it be done by the user ?Thanks,Andrei Malishkin-=AM=-

Either that or it is woefully underpowered. The only way I can fly it is to reduce fuel to a ridiculously low amount, and even then it is flying very close to stall speed. I've tried several of the planes in the Breeze 2 package with identical results. What could be wrong here? All my other planes fly normally. Any ultralight fans here who could help me? Microlight?Joe
