Just read the latest on the RCS web site and I am mighty confused.. seems Roy is now going to be the author of the B-25 and R4D-6 after all. Will the real R4D-6 & B-25 authors please stand up? Very confusing and contradictory to previous press releases via MAAMSIM and RCS.Does anyone understand what is 'really' going on?Regards.. This T-38 is great, but I must have a sound file cross-linked with Train Simulator. While sitting still, engine off or on, wind or no wind, I hear a rolling nose wheel that sounds just like cruising along on the rails in Train Simulator.Anyone else have this happening and know how to silence it while idle on the ramp?Again, my compliments to the FSD team. I am really enjoying this T-38!Gene LacyDataWingsVSR (Virtual Skunk Retired)

Dear All,I know this is best posted in the hardware forum (and it has been), but seeing as there are many more users of this forum, and many questions regarding computer upgrades, I thought it would be worth reposting here. For those looking for the fastest system, and planning to do it yourself, you will likely consider a motherboard based on the VIA KT333 chipset. If so, then be very careful when considering a Gigabyte GA-7VRX or GA-7VRXP board when used in combination with a GF4 videocard. This board is highly rated by Tom's hardware, and based on this rating, I bought one myself. I spent at least four miserable days trying to get this board to work before ultimately r…

Hi folks. Finally considering moving up to WindowsXP (home edition, as I don't have a need for the more server-ish features of Pro).I'm a WindowsNT and 2000 server administrator (among other things) so I do know my way around systems and software very well. One thing I know is always look before you leap! So I'm looking.... :)Are there any pitfalls or unseen dangers I should be aware of if I do decide to go to XP Home? Specifically, I'm interested if there are issues with Flight Simulator 2002, FSMeteo, FSNav, FSFlightMax, and the Dreamfleet and FSD add-on planes (I have the Archer II and the Cheyenne).I also use Squawkbox when I fly online. I use the chat window Fix…

  13. hi gang! Well I was adding Gates to the New Denver Intl scenery from Flightsim.com, and I added the gates to line up with the jetway's! But when the planes are ready to depert they turn and some Drive through other planes and right though the main Terminals!!!?? Why does this happen?? I made alot of Gates using AFCAD and this never happened before??! they Do not really follow the link and Nodes of the Gates they are parked at? I double checked everything in AFCAD and it's good! It's Like they have a mind of it's own! After they get out of the gates they follow the correct taxi way's to the runway ok! Just when they leave the Gates they do not follow what is assigned in AF…

Aloha fellow aviation nuts,The recent Fokker 100 always crashes my system when I load a flight using it. I have the newest FSUIPC, new DirectX, new video drivers. I think I must have biffed the install. I went back through the readme files and I seem to have done it right. Any ideas or related experiences? Thanks Ya'll!SHK

I'm pretty sure I know the answer is no, because of how FS2K only activates one landing runway and one takeoff runway, even with the advent of AFCAD where you can specify those two runways as separate.I have downloaded some KORD overlays where all the UA planes take off on 4L and land on 9L (and 32R and 27R in the opposite direction depending on wind) and say, AA planes use 14L and 22R, etc. However, is that accurate? I find it difficult cuz of the amount of UA traffic at ORD, that too many UA planes are forced to land on 9L causing frequent go-arounds that aren't really great to watch. Is there a way where I can maybe make some UA planes land on 9R as well (in real life …

Steven, Many, many thanks for the absolutely beautiful Stinson Voyagers. I'm sure there are quite a few of you out there who were small boys in the 40's and 50's who just lusted after those beautiful Stinsons. Steve, you have captured them perfectly, especially that wonderful maroon floatplane version. I had a short flight in a twin to that sometime in the early 1950's at a lake in Maine (Long Lake, maybe, just northwest of Sebago Lake). For those who have not seen the plane, there is no virtual cockpit and instrumentation is appropriate to the period, but the sheer beauty and accuracy of the plane makes it a joy to fly and watch in flight. Now, how about a Globe Swif…

A couple days ago, a gentleman (Vincent J.) posted a note here that he and a friend were thinking of writing a new flight simulator. There was a lively followup, in which I participated. I was hoping to see more chatter about the topic, but it's gone (although an identical initial post is over in the 767 PIC forum). My question is, was this intentionally deleted by the moderator, or was this the result of a system problem? If it is the former, then I will be very interested to hear the justification.cheers,Dave BlevinsKRHV
