Does anyone know if Atlas and Polar Air use FMC's in the older B747-100's & 200's; or just the older INS's ?

How do I backup all of the files that make my install what it is?I know I should backup my:aircraft directoryaddon scenery directoryeffects directorygauges directoryFS2002.cfg filescenery.cfg fileAny others? I would like to be able to reinstall FS2K2 if I ever need to and then install these backups to restore my system to the state it is presently in. Thanks in advance for your help.Bob

I just did a reinstall of FS2K2 when updating to the Windows XP OS and I am now experiencing block water textures (solid ssquares of color) which are especially prevalent at night. My system consists of an Athlon 950 (@1050) and a GF2MX with 384 megs of RAM.I seem to have remembered other experiencing this problem but a search through the forums have not turned anything up. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.Cheers!Richard

The other day i was watching "Apocalypse Now", and at a moment you can see what seems to be three Talons napalming the jungle. The same day, fsd released the talon for fs2002 as the U.S. favourite trainer. So, has this bird also served in Vietnam as an attack plane?Just a question.

OK, it's been out for a few weeks now. What are your ideas on this free series of add-ons? I've installed most of the flight plans and then have downloaded quite a few AFCAD's and have seen mixed results. For example, at O'Hare it's really great. Lots of traffic (although mostly United, but this should change when more plans are released.) Then I go to Philadelphia Int. (with AFCAD additions) and see literally nothing. KMLK (Mitchell in Milwaukee) is also very bare, even though I know that United is strong here. The European airports seem to have more variety of airlines, but I don't fly there that often.Just looking for some feedback, whether positive or negative. …

My FS2002 Pro always asks for me to insert one of my CDs; will this go away if I uninstall and do an "install complete"?

Hi,The terrain in FS2002 in cities for example looks so flat, even with scenery complexity high and auto gen, it looks flat, I mean, no higher and lower references to help with perspective....I know FS2002 has improvements over previous versions, but in my opinion it still looks flat when flying over many cities.What do you think ? Well I got this new awesome T-38 Talon and now I would like to have some good mesh for around Edwards AFB or another big AFB somewhere in the world as I am used to using addon mesh for all the bush flying I do and cant hardly stand the default mesh anymore :(Anyone know of anything that might fit this need????Thanks ahead of time

I see that a company called Perfect Flight has just released a new 777 program with lots of Adventures. It looks really interesting, but I have never used Perfect Flight products. Does anybody here use them and if so, what is your opinion of them?Appreciate posts, thanks for your time!JS

I've got lots of gauges I don't use in the MSFS gauge ddirectory. Is this slowing my PC down? Also, having lots of aircraft in flightsim slows me down too? I'd like to know how to improve the 'fps' on my machine. Has anyone got any ideas or gauge cleaning utilities etc?Many Thanks,

I'am having a problem with the gps system when I'am flying. I have the flight planner all set up, set to gps mode...but when i get take off.. and get airbore..set autpilot on and then set it from nav. to gps.. nothing happens, no turn or anyhting.. and my plane totaly goes off track. I don't know why this is happening, Because i have used the gps mode before. I know this sounds like a stupid question.. but im pretty new to the flight sim world, any ideas on what the problem would be here?

I recently downloaded a panel for an ATR 42/72 by Marcello Lugari named atrpnl.zip. In the installation instructions he says the panel needs the atr.gauges in the file atr2k2v61.zip. I have done a search both here on avsim and on flightsim.com and cannot find atr2k2v61.zip. Anyone know where I can get these gauges? Thanks,Ray

I DOWNLOADED SOME FILES FROM AVSIM ,AS ALWAYS I PUT THE SOUND FILES IN THE SOUND FOLDER.I PUT THE PANELS AND TEXTURES IN THIER FOLDERS. NOW WHEN I GO TO THAT SPECIFIC A/CTHERE IS NO SOUND !!!!!! WHAT HAVE I DONE WRONG???? PLEASE HELP AND THANKS FOR THE REPLIES JEFF AKINS

Hi all!I went from a AMD 800 under Windows 98 to an Athlon XP 2000+ and Windows 2K Pro, but now FS2002 gives me headaches. Two main problems:Problem 1) Using a Leadtek Geforce 4 Ti4400 (which worked fine in the old maschine) I can not see any Menus, Clipboard or right-Click menu anymore when running FS2002 in full screen mode. That means the grey menu bar on top, the rightclick-mouse menu, and even the dialog when hitting "esc" key dont show. My game stops if I activate them, but I can not see them. When I switch to windowed mode they are there. Also, I can not longer see the GPS in Captain Sim's Mig-21 as long as I run in Full Screen Mode.This seems to be a Problem with …

Just got the latest leaflet from JustFlight(good suppliers by the way) which includes the Saitek P8000 Command Pad. This appears to have about 35 programmable buttons http://www.dxmarket.com/saitek/products/PD02.html. The Saitek web site says it is for W98 and ME only, and threads on their forum suggest that new software for W2000 and XP will be out "real soon now" (with some hollow laughter from people who were told this last Xmas).
