Hi guys,wouldn't it be a good idea to stick the solutions of the most common problems and questions at the top of the forum or create something like a FS2002 FAQ as a separate read only forum. That would spare us asking the same questions like:1. I lost all my AITraffic, what should I do?or,2. How to use two monitors in FS2002?etc.over and over again.People simply do not seem to understand that this forum is using latest database technology that even offers sophisticated features like a search function.Alex

Who said MSFS approaches are to low?Northwest flight 39, a DC10 from Amsterdam, just flew over the building I work at and scared the CR#P out of me. I was outside. The cloud cover is 2000 scattered and 3000 broken. Im still 20 miles out from KDTW and he had to be at 2000ft because he was below the cloud cover!

I'm trying to restore my AI traffic without having to reinstall FS2002 .. i looked at the tips on the Flightsim Veteran Club and found that replacing the traffic.bgl, default.dp and default.cdp files should do the trick. I was able to replace the first two, but somehow i can't find the default.cdp file on my cd .. anyone knows where to find it???many thanx

This may sound a bit odd, but...Here's the background to the question:I'm going to use I08 as the example here, and I'm sure there are others like it. Because of the very large terrain feature with which one would become "intimately familiar" in the event that one were daft enough to attempt a departure from rwy 2, all departures from that airfield are on rwy 20.Similarly, said terrain feature causes the only aircraft which'd be able to land on 20 to be rotary wing or Harriers. I've just tried, for the first time, activating a random engine failure. However when the engine eventually stopped the instruments showed no obvious reason for the failure.I couldn't restart it in the air being to busy concentrating on finding an airfield but once safely on the ground I tried again.Despite both priming and using the fuel pump I couldn't get the starter to fire the engine of the new Cessna Cardinal.Does this mean that engines failed by FS2002 can't be started again or simply that I'm still near the bottom of the learning curve?Cliff

Does anyone know how to incorporate startup/shutdown sounds into Antti Pankkonen's Dauphin? I have engine sounds, that was pretty straight forward; however, I read where someone successfully incorporated spool up and spool down sounds for the turbine(s) in the Dauphin. If anyone has done this would you please post how it was accomplished? I know many of us (including me) love the heavies, but there aren't many short flights around. I bought a book on the development of United Airlines recently "The Age of Flight". United, like many US airlines, began as a mail carrier. Here's the route they called "The Mainline":SFO-SAC-RNO-EKO(Elko)-SLC-RCS-CYS-OMA-LNK-DSM-IOW-ORD(MDW)-TOL-CLE-JFK. If you think you're seeing double, that is 14 hops coast-to-coast.I took the excellent Dash8 in a leg or 2 tonight. My simulation was that I was a UA heavy captain, however I was participating in an anniversary flight series that emulated this old route, using a Dash8. i need some help.i have two PC's that i want to use for FS. i want to know how do i connect them together.i want to use my current PC for FS and use the other for things like Roger Wilco, servinfo, etc..my other PC is pretty old. about 16MB RAM and 1.3ghz so i would only use it for RW and servinfo and looking at charts and stuff.i would like to know what i need to connect these two together. i dont remember if my cable modem can share its connection but how would i go about doing so. if not ill just save the charts and stuff on disk and use the other offline to check them. any help would be appreciated.also how could i use both monitors for FS?

Don't get me wrong, I love Paul Golding's new Bac-111 panel. It's great with the PF 111s and with David Maltby's 111s. Is there a simple way I can add an auto-throttle to it? It just would make life on Fs2k2 so much more relaxed!Lee

From the manual, I guess you need your stab trim in the green zone, your flaps at 5-25, and I think it said your speed brake off. Where's the speed brake--this is what seems to be deployed and I'm not seeing how to undeploy it?!Noel

HiI'm sorry i just visit this forum to make questions!! Ok.. Is there anyway to fix the appron or the taxiways diappearing problem in fs2002??. I know Page Cline has done some of the fixes for default airports, but i think he's not able to fix all of the airports having this problem(There are just to many of these). So iwas just wondering if there's some way to fix this by myself. i.e i managed to install airport 2000 vol 1 on FS2002, and it seems to work fine except for these disappearing taxiways etc..
