I just completed the last of my simulator rides for instrument approaches. We covered both ILS and GPS approaches in this 2hr flight. Because the session had to go long (I needed 1.9hrs for course requirements), we were done with the official requirements early so we tried an experiment.I read on avweb.com an article considering what actions a pilot should take if both vacuum and electrical failures occur in flight. Hi, Does anyone know how to change the location of the view looking out the right and left side of the cockpit? I would like the views to be looking over the wing as a passenger would see them. Also, if the cockpit has both side views (bitmaps) of the cockpit, do these have to be removed? If so, how would I do that?Thanks,

For some reason, no road map/atlas I have lists/names most towns in UK the way 2k2 does. Froinstance, my map may say "X" but 2k2 calls it "Y". Very confusing having to use Lat/Long charts to know "usual" name of town I'm landing at; wild guess at where taking off from. Is there a map anywhere that uses all the same names?

I am considering buying a new system (Pentium 4 2.53 GHz processor,512 RDRAM with a ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 256-bit DDR memory graphics card,17" Dell Ultrasharp Digital Flat Panel Display etc.,) with Windows XP Home edition OS. Questions:1. Will I be able to operate FS 2002 Pro with all the display sliders set to maximum without a significant hit to the frame rate?2. Is a digital flat monitor preferable to a regular monitor?3. What frame rates can I expect with the above system, assuming that the displays sliders are set to maximum?4. Is the Radeon 9700 graphics card preferable to the nVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4600? I have a choice of installing either card.Thanks.Stanner

Hi,I'm trying to figure out how the multiplayer AutoPilot lock functions.What I understand is the A/P lock takes over the A/P control and flies straight to the other selected MP-aircraft. Somehow I don't get it to work. Here's what I did:1. When in MP mode (using 2 PC's), I select via CTRL-SHFT-T the other MP-aircraft. (Send/Receive detailed info on both PC's = on)2. I put the A/P on, only enabling altitude hold.3. Via the MP-Settings menu, I select AutoPilot Lock.Now I would suspect the aircraft turning towards the selected MP-aircraft, but nothing happens. Tried the same with HDG and NAV enabled, but no luck.Anyone?

The Moon phase has always been correct from what I've seen, however this morning on a flight into CYYC, I noticed only a half moon, when in fact it's almost a full moon. Any one notice incorrect moon phase? Yep, double checked my time settings, and were correct. Flying with this a/c apparently improves landings with other, comparable, a/c. Of course, this is very subjective, but since I put myself in the average category, it could apply to other average pilots.After a small hour of practice in the SM, other a/c feel significantly simpler to align, flare and land.This effect could be due to the particular handling of the SM: critical wing, excellent (I find) simulation of the yaw, and to a more active need of power during flare.I'm still experimenting with slips, both yaw + counter bank and bank + counter yaw.

I having trouble opeing the second door on planes that have them (SHIFT+E+2). It just opens the first door. Is there any way to change the command to open the doors. I look throught the key assignments quickly but I didn't see it. Thanks.

I've recently had some corrupted files and had to uninstall my Game Commander voice software. Yep this hobby just gets better and better. Just got my 3d glasses from E Dimensional and completed my first flight from Zurich to Malpensa. The mountains actually looked scary on the approach and for the first time I had the sensation of flying. It's great. And boy what a niiiiice scenery of Malpensa they have made. I have a Diamond MX300 card which has served its purpose for the past 3 years and has performed flawlessly for me... Hi,I've just started to 'explore' flying online. I'd like to know how to put the SB Host 'inside?' FS2002 as I've seen on many screenshots in the SS forum. Also, I only had one controller at 11:00UTC in the UK, it was EGLL APP, is that normal? He was great though. Also, I couldn't take off becuase an aircraft was doing a "Touch n Go" but I couldn't hear/read what the controller and other aircraft were saying.
