Never had this problem before, but now when I load up a flight, and it goes into the screen where the bar scrolls across as the flight is loading, I get an hour glass, but it freezes with a black screen before the progress bar has a chance to come up on the screen. Any ideas? I am trying to load the FFG Saab, with the awesome 2-d panel views available over on PSD. Any help would be appreciated!ChristopherP4 1.8768 ram 80 gig hardriveVisiontek Ti4 4600CH yoke/pedals19" inch monitor-Soundblaster PCI 512Win XPInstrument rated ASEL- 186 hoursAOPALawyerPilots Bar Association"Men without dreams are never free, twas thus this way and thus will ever be."

I got this a while back and it still makes me laugh... ---- SUBJ: "The Student Pilot" Author Unknown Contributed to HUmourNet by Mark McCann Federal Aviation Administration Washington, D.C. Gentlemen: I was asked to make a written statement concerning certain events that occurred yesterday. First of all, I would like to thank that very nice FAA man who took my student pilot's license and told me I wouldn't need it any more. I guess that means that you're giving me my full-fledged pilot's license. You should watch that fellow though, after I told him all of this he seemed quite nervous and his hand was shaking. Anyway, here is what happened. The weather had been kind of b…

Greetings Fellow Simmers, I was hoping that someone could recommend a starting or trainning manual for me, I am getting into MSFS 2002 and I want to learn how to use the flight-instruments. I love this sim but its time for me to take it to the next level, you know the one where I actually have to know what I am doing :) I just came over from "Amazon.com" and they have some books but they all look good to me. Is an author by the name of Rod Machado a good one for me to get, hmmmm. anyway, do you have any advise for a newbie ?Thanks..................... SJ

Hey everyone.I been thinking about it for a while and I might actually do it. I want to go around the world in a small prop. I'm planning to do without any form of AP or GPS, all via Hdg/Adf/Vor. I'm also going to do it real weather too. I haven't got the route even started yet, since I haven't decided on an aircraft to fly. I orginally thought to use a Stearman or the Tiger Moth, but I dont think the range is long enough, but it would be prue fun though.Any suggestions on a plane I could use for this? There are way too many choices :) I would like to fly something very stable, good looking, and a range far enough for those longer routes (I'm figuring around 1,200nm or mo…

I'm trying to install this awesome software, but I'm not sure where to put it.According to the readme instructions, it says to put it in FS2002SCENERYDBWORLDTEXTURE. However, I don't have a WORLD subdirectory under SCENERYDB. I only have CITIES and some stuff like NC, NE, NW, etc.Can anyone tell me where I should put the files? Thanks.

Everytime I try to load a flight starting at Emma Field it kicks me to the desktop. I never have had any problems like this with any other Lago product. Geo Render 1 works fine. Just bought and loaded Emma today did a flight to the field landed taxied looked around a bit and got kicked to the desktop. Not been able to get back since. All other fields I tried load just fine. Tried a flight from Bremerton and just about the time I saw the falls it locked up and kicked me out. Anybody with some knowledge on how to fix this would be great. I got a taste of the field and really want to explore more of it. I have posted on their forum but so far the replies have been slow. This …

I have found that Inertial Navigation Systems from FS2000 aircraft panels that I have tried to use in FS2002 cause FS to crash. Why is this? Is there a way to get this system to work in FS2002 and could someone maybe point me in a direction where I can get some information on how they work and how to program/use them? Thanks in advance!

I am really enjoying the excellent freeware product by Chris at FSW and was hoping to get some help as to optimizing their use. I have reviewed all the manuals and forums but I am having issues with the way the weather changes. The changes of the clouds and visibility seems very fast, I will go from scattered to complete overcast within one second and then to clear then to bkn, all within three seconds. This happens every time I fly in moderate to severe wx (about 10 hrs now sim time). Question; can somone who utilizes the following addons provide me their optimum settings for each? All this stuff looks good except for the rapid changes.ThanksMikeFS2k2 ( unpatched :-…

jerrycwo4I see that there is a setting (posted) in the FSUIPC for people using the weather program, FSkySE. At present I am using the weather program purchased from Simmarket called, " Weather Center Expert". I also have just installed the update to FSUIPC (2.93 I think) and was wondering what changes to the new FSUIPC I should make, or would the setting for the FSkySE work in Weather Center Expert also?Has anyone changed from using Weather Center Expert to this FSkySE? What differance did you see and which one do you like the best ( Forget one is frre and the other is not !)jerry

I posted this on the Lago Forum but nobody wished to reply. Not sure why do you?Is it true that when looking left or right that you do not see the engine and wing? If this is correct, how can they not include something as important as this? I dont get it. I wonder how many people actually purchased it and did not know? Personally I did not purchase the plane but this really upsets me that a payware company can get away with this. Quality sometimes is questionable but to leave off something like the engine view is pretty squeeky.Tks BobG

Hi All,Our FS community is blessed with many talented and industrious developers who enjoy sharing their great work with the rest of us mortals.I enjoy flying in the wilds of Alaska especially with bush scenery airports/airfields. Dave Erickson is one of those developers who has allowed us to join him with his truly interesting Alaska bush scenery. I've installed all of his Alaska Commuter sceneries (1-8) for FS2000. Loads of interesting flying with loads of Alaska airports.Once again, Dave has developed a new addition to his series which was developed for FS2002. It's fantastic, here's why........Dave had incorporated a Landclass folder in his download which greatly …

just to let you know about a program that has been getting some attention over on the il2 board at simhq. The program is called cam2pan and a 30-day demo can be downloaded from www.mousevision.com. It gives trackir style head panning through a standard webcam and the producers claim to have used it with il2 and fs2002. So far, however, people are having problems getting it set up properly. It has a lot of options and very brief documentation so I think it is going to take some experimentation to find the best settings. I have emailed the company and made them aware of the problems people are having so hopefully they will come to simhq and give us some help. The full progr…

I was just visiting the nVidia website and noticed that the 40.72 drivers are WHQL certified as of November 8, 2002. I also noticed that nVidia is now distinguishing between Windows 2000 and Windows XP drivers; there are two seperate download packages. The link isn't on the main nVidia driver download page but you can find the 40.72 here: http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_archive

OK, in high performance singles, are you guys going to full flaps on short final? My hought is carying a little extra speed and approach flaps instead of full flaps never hurts (as long as you have ample runway) to combat wind/shear and aborted landing...quicker transition to climb-out as oppossed to raising up full flaps??Any thoughts??I have been reading some pros in the Flying mags are admitting to limited use of Full flaps. Thanks,Greg
