Following the recent article by "Bear" about bush flying, I decided to download the tail dragger Maule to practice short field landings as per his tutorial.I quite like this little aircraft - especially the way it flies. Cruises at a nice fastish speed but capable of very slow flight as well (50 Knots ) . One of the first things I do with a new aircraft is to see how well it flies at slow speeds -- quite a few seem to drop their nose and the only way you can get them to stay in the air is to have a high angle of attack which makes for difficult landing as you can't see over the nose. I've been trouble free with FS2002 for a long time until now. Every now and then I get a "not found. . .(a bunch of gibberish). . .may cause some scenery to not display properly." I did trace it to the default mooney and c182. When I try to select them in the aircraft menu, it gives the same error, and when I okay it, the planes appear without their props. Are the default aircraft tied to bgls or soemthing? Does anyone know which files I should replace to fix these probs? I obviously don't want to re-install. Thanks!-drew

Hey guysI've been playing around with AI traffic, and installing overlays to get the right airlines at the correct terminals.So, I installed John Thomas' 8 overlays for Simflyers KLAX scenery, loaded FS - and selected LAX.But there's only a handful of a/c there, and I think they're at the wrong gates.How do I therefore make the airport come alive, with aircraft at the right gates?Yours hopefullyRob

Hi,If I understand FS2002 correctly the various AI planes do actually go to other airports/ airfields and land.. or do they just disappear? The reason for the question - I tried to follow one, and it just disappeared! I had hoped to track it all the way to its destination. It was a small cessna, so no flight plan was filled. I assume a large jet with a flight plane would have a real route, but is the same true for the smaller GA types?Keith

I am using the DF737 package (just got it). I've tried it both with the default DF737-400 and a PF 737-300 (the aircraft.cfg and FDE are already set for use with DF737). I have two different problems I am experiencing.1. I have a Sidewinder FF (not FF2) joystick and the rudder axis (joystick grip twist) works fine on all other aircraft. With the DF737, it won't move the rudder and I am forced to select Alternate Rudder (i.e. the "Auto-Coordination" switch) and steer using the joystick's x-axis rather than the rudder axis. The sidewinder is set with default null and sensitivity. Is there a bug in DF737, will the joystick's rudder axis just not work, or do I have to a…

Good People, I am about to install the home edition of XP. It will be a "clean" installation. I remember something about an additional file(s) that needs to be downloaded and installed in order for FS2002 to work with XP. If that is indeed the case can you direct me or let me know what is required in order to to have a good install of FS 2002 within XP.

Hi,Edit VP worked fine on my machine. But now all I get is a DOS Window that flashes up for a second and that is it. I uninstalled and reinstallled NET Framework, still no go.I have XP and SP 1 installed. I also used a little proggie that finds the double airline sound files, maybe that has something to do with it. I have the GeForce TI4200 and Windows XP. In FS2002 the primary screen displays scenery very fast. But when I open a new scenery window, undock and move to the second monitor, the speed of displaying that window drops to a crawl (about 3fps). Is it possible to get fast scenery speed on the second monitor?Thanks, Tom

All,I noticed recently that my hard drive is being accessed constantly when running FS2K. This does not seem to impact performance. I don't believe that it always did this but the only time it stops is when I go to pull up a menu. I have tried all I can think of to fix the issue such as defragging the hard drive, changing the page file size etc. I have also searched all of the forums for an answer without success. I think the problem started when I first defragged the hard drive after upgrading to XP or after I installed the the XP patch.ANY help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to kill my hard drive! Hi There,I have downloaded the Traffic Tools 1.2 and some liveries from project AI to install on my Fs2002.However now how do I proceed to get aircraft on the terminals and get some aircraft flying around me and with ATC telling me to follow them etc.Any help as I have downloaded these but do not know how to proceed and maybe someone there can be so kind to give me some easy instructions to follow as I am no computer man.Awaiting any help.Regards,Emann.

Hey all,I apologize if this has already been covered, or if I missed something in the manuals, but I would appreciate any assistance anyone can offer!I wanted to try out the new "VSkyday" feature of FS Sky World 2002SE so I installed one of the days. Only now, I cannot get it to go away and everytime I load up anything in FS the sim starts out in the VC zoomed way out, with a little tiny top-down view window open in the upper left hand corner of the screen and the altimeter set for the VSkyday. Is it possible to make the runway and taxiways black at night? Allowing only the taxi and landing lights to light them up? If so then flying at night would be so much more real. If not then I hope the guys at MS read this and consider it. Kilstorm
