With the Christmas holiday behind me, I decided to purchase the Lago ultralight package. I owe thanks to Avsim for the headline regarding Lago's release of the package--I might have missed it otherwise. And thanks to Lago for this gift.... It's worth twice the price if you like ultralights!Purchase was simple. I was pleased that unlike some online purchases, very little personal info was required. I bristle when sites solicit phone numbers, or turn away email addresses like hotmail. Such was not the case with the purchase from Lago. And no sooner did I submit my payment, than the email with my reg info appeared in my mailbox (BTW--I spent approx. 2hrs downloading t…

I'm thinking about adding a CH Flight Sim Yoke USB, but I've already maxed out my 4 USB ports with (1) keyboard, (2) CH Pro Pedals USB, (3) digital camera dock, and (4) inkjet printer. Would appreciate your advice on how best to deal with this problem. Some initial ideas I had were to switch my HP 5550 printer from USB to serial cable (I'm sure this would slow the connection but would it affect print quality?), or perhaps disconnecting my Kodak camera dock when not in use (unplugging/plugging USB connections all the time seems unattractive). I think I've seen USB "splitters" which "add" another USB connection, but I also remember a post recently where a simmer had proble…

I have been using Nav3.1 for a short while and it works great for my purposes. The only problem I have is that by default you set it up to load all of the .bgl files from fs2002. This makes for a hec of a long start up each time I run the program and the worldwide data loaded slows the program down at times. I know you can choose what files to load so in theory a list that pertains to the area I fly in could be created. Anyone have any suggestions for getting Nav to only load North American data?

I have noticed that while enroute and being passed from one controller to the next there is an extra communtication required in RC3. ExampleATC - Seneca 8HE contact Boston Center on 123.45Me - Contact Boston Center on 123.45Me - Boston Center Seneca 718HE is with you @ 7000ATC - Roger Me* - Im supposed to reply the last ATC roger RC3 wants me to roger the last roger which I have never done in real life unless ATC gave me a new alt setting. I of course never remember to do so and in a moment ATC comes back up with "Seneca 8HE ROGER!" Kinda odd.

Does anybody know of a taxiway lighting replacement for FS2002? I'm using default lighting for taxiways but blue lights are barely visible, only a few pixels each. I find that blow right by the taxiway entrances at night. I've seen runway lighting replacements but not taxiway.Alternatively, if anyone knows the file(s) that contain the taxiway blue light image, I could probably edit it and post it for anyone else experiencing a similar problem.thx.Kevin

Hi guys! I have installed FS2002 in my new system (P4 2.6Ghz, 512 DDR ram, GF4 Ti 4200 128MB, 60GB HD and 40GB HD just for FS2002). Everything run smoothly, but the welcome screen, when the simulator begins, doesn't fill the whole screen as before. My desktop screen resolution is set to 1024X768X32. I use this resolution for my FS2002 as well, as before. Of course, when the game starts, it fills the whole screen. It's not a major thing but I was wondering why this with my new system. Anybody knows?Thanks,Andyhttp://flightcraft.avsim.net/Images/andy_sig.jpg

I resisted the GoFLight units for a long time because I already use multiple monitors so my radios are accessible already. I also use a Hagstrom board to control almost everything else. Still, I've been pretty good this year ;-) so I asked Santa for two 166s. I have to admit, I sort of dreaded having to set them up and configure them, etc. Well, you know what? They are the easiest hardware addon ever! I've never seen anything else that earns the term "plug and play" to the extent that these do. Amazing to see the LEDs come alive immediately. I booted FS2K2 and the Comm and Nav freqs popped up with no effort whatsoever. I was even amazed to see the LEDs go black when I turn…

One of my relatives bought me Wilco's airport 2002 for Christmas. Can I get some honest opinions before I open this up, load it on my computer and discover that it was something that I should have returned while I had the chance. So, if someone has it, can you tell me how you like and if it works well with FS2002? Thanks,Captain_Carr(C152, C172):)

Hi guys,I'm considering starting up a website where subscribers can sign up for a "dispatching service". This service includes a flight plan, weight and balance sheet (and an aircraft.cfg to reflect), weather briefing and other documents depending on which format the user chooses. Basically, you go to the website and put in a request for a flight, including the time you plan to depart, aircraft used, etc. Then your dispatch release arrives via email 2 hours prior to departure (can be earlier or later depending on user's prefs, current demand, etc. but would never be less then 1hr before scheduled departure). The user can also log into a chat room and receive a "face-to-fa…

Hi,I have upgraded FSUIPC from 2.92. to 2.93 (it came with the installation of Radar Contact 3). Since then the FS-Meteo Weather Display shows unreal wind speeds (240 kts or so) and jumping wind directions any time in the Outside Info window. I didn't change any setting in FSUIPC. Any ideas? Many thanks, Tom.

Unlit:http://thescorned.homestead.com/files/dash1.jpgLit:http://thescorned.homestead.com/files/dash2.jpgI prefer flying without the panel light. Helps me see outside better.I've seen in photos that these newer generation panels are flown pretty much in the dark, since the instruments themselves are lighted. They look so pretty. I suppose with the older analog instruments you would need some sort of light in the cockpit.-AV

Patch for Pushback gauge rcbpb-10.zip=====================================Problem:If you have the "Brakes" message disabled in your fs2002.cfg (line show_brake_message=0), the gauge doesn't detect when you set the parking brakes.Remedy:- Make sure FS2002 is not running.- Open file ...fs2002gaugesrcb-gaugesPushbackStates.xml with NOTEPAD.- Change each occurance of the word INDICATOR into POSITION (7x)- Save&Close the file. Now the gauge will always work, whether you have the "Brakes" message enabled or not.Cheers, Rob Barendregt

I just got a new monitor. I had a 17" that I kept the desktop at 1024X768. My new monitor is 19" and now my desktop is at 1280X1024. I have made not other changes to my system and no changes to MSFS2002. MSFS2002 is set to run at 1024X768.Here is the problem. When I first load up a flight (with any aircraft) the aircraft panel is shrunk to about 75% of the screen and wedged into one of the corners. If I simply load a new aircraft it fixes the problem and my panels look normal again. This happens no matter what aircraft I start with and changing to any other aircraft will fix it. I am assuming the problem is related to my new desk to resolution. Why the hec is thi…

Hi all. I was curious if anybody knew when the next version of FS is going to be announced/released? I hace 2002 but the video card I have, ATI Radeon 7500 32 meg for a laptop is not backwords compatable with the game, it's actually newer then it, and locks my laptop up whenever I run it. Any idea if it's something else? Thanks for any feedback.Cory KlimkoNORTHWEST 4EVER

Hi I wanna buy MSFS 2002, however first I wanted to ask if it is easy to use.Do you need to be a Pilot to use it properly.I had a go once at a friends house and it looked pretty complicated. Is there anywhere I can get help on how to use the Sim.I am an Aviation buff, and would love to get this FS, however if it will be to hard for me to work out, I will give it a miss. Thanks for any thoughts on this, or help info.Cheers....Tomcat
