I just got a new computer with WindowsXP. The new operating system won't accept my SideWinder Precision Pro joystick software. I was using Windows98 on the old computer and everything worked fine. I tried finding new drivers through Microsoft's Site but couldn't find anything that referenced WindowsXP. Anyone else had this problem? If so how did you solve it.Thanks

For domestic US commercial aircraft, when they pull into the gate and immediately close the engines, why doesn't aircraft power fail? Ground power can't be connected yet, so it must be the APU. If that's true, then when are APUs typically started after landing? I'm running ...AMD Athlon 1.1 ghz / 50 Gig HD640mb SD133ATI 9000 ProAudigy PlatinumFor some reason, after about 10 minutes of usage, FS2k2 decides to give this very high pitched sound minutes after that the game freezes aks system crash!!!I've uploaded the latest drivers for my video card, my motherboard and my sound card,Am I missing something ... has anyone else encountered this problem?Help!

In a Turbo-Prop aircraft...I unserstand the throttle and condition levers, but also notice the miuxture (borrowing this term from recip engines) control.On turbines I'm not aware of any mixture type of command required to operate these types of engines...what does this lever do on a Turbo Prop??Thanks.

Before I file a complaint with the FAA, I thought I come over here for some advice from the pros (you guys). Anyway.... during the last two flights, one using the default 737-400 and the last one this morning, using 737-300PIC, I had the controller tell me to "expedite" my descent "to one-one-zero hundred," but I was already there (11,000 feet). This morning, I had almost made it to Newark International from ATL when by the 3rd or 4th time they had requested me to one-one-zero, the controller came over the radio and said my IFR clearance had been canceled. Lately, I seem to be having a problem with ATC cancelling my IFR flight plan because it thinks I am not at my assigned flight level.While climbing to flight level 27000ft, ATC says "please exepedite your climb to FL 27000". After reaching FL2700" ATC repeats "please expedite your climb to FL 27000. I am maintaining 27000ft., ATC repeats again. I am already at my assigned flight level and ATC cancels my IFR flight plan!!!!If I wanted to fly VFR, I would not have filed a IFR flight plan.This has happened the last three times I flew. It is pissing me off!! Any ideas as to why this is happening?Thanks

These, I believe are PAPI lights - as opposed to the VASI lights common at US airports in Fs2002. They seem to be used everywhere in Australia and some other countries in FS2002 and unfortunately are a lot dimmer than the US style VASI lights.When you are too low -- they are all red. A bit higher and they go white and then as you go higher still, they change from little whites in front of the big white to little whites behind the big white.Could somebody tell me how they are meant to be used please.Thanks Barry

Anyone else tried the download of the sample Scenery USA from the front page of AVSIM.It is fantastic, reminds me a little of Terrascene for FLY!! except much crisper! Anyone know if most of the USA will be covered or only select areas! Sure would like to see my hometown rendered like that! If you have not tried it, do so and be prepared to be pleaseantly surprised!

All of my noise packages for various aircraft have cracks, pops, and hisses like an old' LP. Is there some tweaks or something I can do to remove all that garbage? Changing the sound quality doesn't seem to affect it. -Redbomberman

Hey all. Right now I'm running FS2002 with 1.8ghz, 512 MB RAM, 80 gig, and a poor old Radeon 7000 PCI video card. For some reason my computer doesnt have an AGP slot so I'm stuck with buying a PCI card. Anyway, my Radeon 7000 is giving me horrible framerates, especially with add-on scenery like the Simflyer's airports. Does anyone know what the best PCI video card available is. Price doesnt matter. Also, if anyone has any screenshots using that card, could they please post at least one somewhere in the screenshot forum. Thanks.

I've downloaded several aircraft models over the past few months. Everyone (Project Fokker, Project Airbus, and Hilmerby DC9) require FSUIPC.I don't fly on-line. I don't get it. What is this magic program that I need before I can fly the models?Duh!Rick (Cave Dweller)

SO I just got a Dell 8250 with a p4 2.4 and 1 GB RAM and 1210 GB hard drive.It will be my first time getting FS2k2.(I used FLY2K in the past) I got the Radeon 9700 card but not the 9700 PRO. Should I have spent the extra $120 for the 9700 PRO instead of the 9700?comments appreciated! thanks. I recently loaded some aircraft from the Virtual US Army Website. Now when I load any other aircraft, to include the downloaded aircraft I can no longer use the default FS2002 GPS. It shows all black. I was getting an error message about 3rd party software, and changed the FS2002.cfg Old Modules section to rectify this. I looked on all three cd's for the gauge and nothing has helped. Is there something I need to do to the FS2002.cfg to again utilize this gauge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have posted on the DF Forum and got some assistance but nothing that works to date. With LNAV dis-engaged, it flies rock steady. With LNAV engaged my DF734 suffers from incurable rolling tendencies while above FL230. It rocks back and forth; the wings dipping better than 20 degrees rythmically. Can anyone tell me how to enable the outer, middle and inner marker tones in FS2K2? I get the illuminiation on the lights but no tones.
