..for the Lake Renegade. Good looking craft and flies well. Your explanations of the flight model and all the "small stuff" were on the money. Have and use your other a/c as well. Keep up the good work and thanks for your efforts.Regards,Rick

Hi everyone,When I start a flight with the real weather, the FS2002 performances drop a lot, especially when there's rain. The FPS are about 7-8.Antialiasing is turned ON (x4) in my 3D graphic card parameters (ATI Radeon 9000 128Mo).> Is antialiasing necessary in FS2002 ? Do you use it ? How to improve performances with real weather ?Please keep me posted about it ;-)Thank you very much.Damien BRUNET.e-mail : [email protected] Forum Francophone de FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2002is French - FS2002 forum- FSFRANCE website forum- FRP - France Project website forum- FS2002 "chat"and exclusive FS2002 files for members ...http://www.forum-fs2002.fr.st/The registration is FREE ;-)

Hi all,I recently downloaded Tracon from free-game-downloads.free-wishes.com They host abandonware games. It prompted me to use a downloader to avoid "file theft". Upon using this downloader I saw a Dos box flash as if something was being installed and I thought here comes trouble. Sure enough, I am now being deluged with Pop-up ads and banners from valuead.com and other Czech companies. The banner ads are placed all over the web pages.I run Ad-Aware and Spybot but I still cant find what was placed in my PC to cause this. I run XP Pro.Please can anyone help me??????????SimonEdited for spelling

Hi everybody! Is it possible to convert bit-map images to vector images on Photoshop 6/7? Or is Adobe Illustrator necessary for this? I am trying this so that I can get rid of the pixels at higher image sizes.Thanks.Dr. Jinesh ThomasResident in Internal MedicineGauhati Medical CollegeINDIA.

After quite some time "playing" with FS2K, I've decided to get serious. I've found quite a few helpful hints in this forum for tuning up FS2K. I've made some tweaks in FSUIPC as well as FS2K's cfg file. I've downloaded FSMeteo for better weather. I'm about to try out VATSIM ...But I know I'm still missing stuff! Does anyone have any pointers to a FAQ/Bible/Guide to tuning up your sim?AtDhVaAnNkCsE ...Martin JensenPP-ASEL-IAN182LU - KBED

I was just reading the new Air & Space and noted a brief passage on the Custer Channel Wing STOL aircraft from the 50s. Has anyone seen or considered a FS version of this unique aicraft? Because of it's unique wing shape and unusual flight properties (how about static hover in a 11 knot headwind?), it might be impossible to model.Thoughts?Richard in California

Hi,a thing that make me frustrated is that since I have no much time to fly, I often cannot complete a flight in a session, so I have to save the flight. Unfortunately, with planes like the splendid Frolov's Dash 8-300, all the plane systems are shut down when you reload them. Is there a way to save these planes/panels variables in order to get the systems working as they were when you saved the flight? Thank youFrancesco

I followed one of the XP optimization guides and cleaned up my HD, choosing compress old files option.I noticed that some of the files in FS 2002 are now compressed (e.g. mesh and scenery not used in long time).I flew those areas and everything is running well, no delays. But do any of you think I may have porked things in the flightsim department with that disk cleanup option? If so, anyway to undo it?Thanks

Whatever happened to these meetings Microsoft was supposed to hold in select cities inviting MSFS owners to give their input on future features in FS versions? I never heard of anyone going around here and I sure didnt ever receive an invitation. Maybe they decided to scrap that project and just read our complaints here. :) Anyways, if you were asked to attend any MS meetings on MSFS, please let us all know. Thanks,Craig

Hi guys,Just thought I'd sign off for a little while. I need a break from simming because I find myself growing tired of FS2002, getting headaches from being on too long and spending less time exercising. I was going to buy the PSS Dash 8 to keep me busy but I realize I need a break now. Rest assured, I'll be back in time for FS2k4 :-). See you guys then. Until then, take care of yourselves and happy landings.Regards,Canadian HawkC-GTGK

I tried to stay away from this but I'm thinking of getting into the development game. I'm a Visual Basic and C++ programmer and I've done a lot of business application add-ons and enhancements over the 8 years I've been in the field. FS has been my hobby for quite some time now. I've been working on a few surprises that I'm sure everyone would be pleased with (I just have to get that website up and running). There are allot of things that could be enhanced with FS2k2 and I'm looking into them (Active Camera was an idea that I had in mind to do for quit some time but the other guys beat me to it, that's what I get for sitting on an idea too long). I'm planning on buying…

For those interested in this latest card there is word just coming out that the images as captured for quality comparisons are not legit. Here is a quote:"The GeForceFX's technology applies filters that effect AntiAliasing and Anisotropic filtering after the frame has left the frame buffer. In short, this means that all of our screenshots do not accurately represent the true in-game visual quality that the GFFX can and will produce, as the screen shots were pulled from the frame buffer. We have come to conclusions about the GFFX IQ (Image Quality) that may be simply wrong." -See http://www.hardocp.com/index.html#6412-1Looks like the jury is back out...stay tuned...

Today I tired to reinable AGP texture acceleration in DX 9 after I had turned it off.....well it wouldn't let me, even after reinstalling my vid card and DX 9. Well I couldn't get the top resolution in 32 bit color in FS2002. So I decided to look in the FS2002.cfg file and what did I find.....plain english! I found the line with the resolution and just changed it in there!! And it worked!

I am interested in learning more about TC controls in the cockpit. If a plane is turbocharged, is there an additional power control, or just the usual suspects? I am guessing not - that the only thing you notice is increased manifold pressure, and you have to be careful about not exceeding an MP redline - overboosting.Any info on this, or intercoolers, or wastegates would be duly appreciated!
