Can anyone explain this to me? The entire world in FS2002 Pro has swung 35 degrees to the right!! For example Runway 24 at EGCC Manchester should be on a heading of 237 but it's now on 271!!The GPS also displays this problem ie with 'North up' selected, a course of 180 displays as 214!I came as a surprise to find myself streaking across the grass at Manchester after lining up for take off in bad visibility from my instruments!!!Anyone ever had this or know what's caused it? Short of the Earth spinning out of it's orbit I can't think why it would happen!

shortly after ttools was released there was a small simple(DOS?) utility available that allowed you to change airport names FROMTO in the flightplans.txt file by percentage. Anyone remember the name of this file and where I might locate it?Thanks

I'm a private instrument rated pilot that uses FS2002 for instrument proficiency training. My only problem is that I'd like to be able to duplicate the aircraft I fly to get the maximum use from the exercise. I fly a Tradewind turbine powered Bonanza A36, which is kind of an unusual aircraft. I've been using the Baron as it has similar flight characteristics, but it would sure be nice to match the turbine layout. From browsing through this site I have come to the conclusion that it may be pretty complicated to create aircrafts and panels. I would appreciate it if anyone could help me understand the process. Thanks for any help. Jim Earsley

I thought I'd try my hand at the King Air today, my first real encounter with one of the FS propjets and found it un-taxiable. As soon as the brakes are released it begins an uncontrollable yaw to the left that full right rudder and full right brake won't correct.During the start, condition levers are set to ground idle and the engines spin up to about 10 ft/lbs of torque. So I release the brakes and give a tad a thrust to beat the ineria and back to idle. The right engine shoots to 20 ft/lbs and will not idle any lower than that while #1 comes back down to 10.Nothing I've done so far makes any difference including trying a couple freeware airfile replacements that I'v…

  8. Hope you guys don't mind this question here,,but I am sure some of you will have an answer to my questiion. I have XP Home edition and last night I installed Norton Systemworks. I have not installed it yet but saw that the disk also contains a program called Go Back that appears to be similiar to Windows System Restore. Which is the better application to use? Also, I am wondering between the regular Windows Defragmentation application compared to the Norton Speed Disk. Do you all have a favorite here? Thanks for you help.Ron

Greetings,I downloaded and installed the Falcon 50 business jet, the one with the flight dynamics by Rob Young (File #:fal50c2.zip). I had a question that I can't seem to find in the manual. How do you close the door? I tried using the Shift+E command and see the message at the top of screen that says opening/closing exit, but nothing happens. I tried resetting the key commands back to default and got the same thing. Is there a command that's unique to this aircraft to get the door to open ? If it's in the manual, please let me know where it is as I can't seem to find it. Any help would be appreciated.Sincerely,Hans

I currently have what appear, on the face of it, to be excessive climb rates in FS2K2. I would be glad if anyone could either tell me that I don't really have a problem or alternatively give me a clue what any problem might be.The whole thing started with VNAV mode on the PSS 777-200. When I flew the tutorial flight, following John Helsby's excellent instructions, pressing VNAV immediately resulted in a climb rate varying between 8000 and 11000 fpm until cruise altitude. This meant reaching FL200 in about 3 minutes flat. Using v/s mode and setting a more reasonable fpm rate worked perfectly and the descent using VNAV also worked fine. Whwn I used autopilot on the PSS Airb…

I am currently updating my computer. At the moment I have a nVidia 32Mb TNT2 Model 64. I have ordered a 128Mb GeForce4Ti4200 8X VIVO (it was the best that I could afford). This is what was recommended to me by a friend who has one. Will this help to stop the blurred textures on say the Lago Terramesh scenery I have installed. I do get good framerates but would like to improve the texture quality. Also could any one answer the following three questions:1. What does VIVO mean?2. Will this new card affect my DVD player in the computer?3. Will I be able to improve my screen resolution with this new card. I currently am on 1028x768, will I be able to get to 1280x1024 fo…

The 'why' is that in 32 bit mode you use 4 bits of data, and the magic is that it is a multiple of 2 (two)When using 24 bit, you are using 3 bits ..and that is not 'tweaked.Even though your graphics card uses more memory to render the desktop or programs, etc, (most have more than plenty) in 32 bit mode, the video performance will be faster as running a multiple of 2 bits is native to the system.Anything to tweak our flight decks for smoother sky....:------------------------------------------------------------------Further information on this subject over at the SANDRA site.Thought that I'd pass it on.Cheers!Mitch R>

All I am in the market for a new sound system. I was unindated with features on many of these boards. Most had to do with recording, MP3 stuff etc. Support for 5.1 and 6.1 surround. First of all, does FS take advantage of any surround sound? My birthday is here and I do have a very old 16 bit board and thought this would be a nice addition. So any help would be appreciated as I have no knowledge which opens the door for purchasing more than what I need. I do play some war games but really not sure what they support either. A little education would sure help.RegardsBobG

Does FS2002 do a good job in modeling turboprop flight characteristics, such as with the Caravan? Specifically, there is a lag period where the turbine is "spooling-up" and the power applied at the controls is not translated immediately into more power at the propeller. How does this compare with real life turboprops? Thanks, dek

I need to know what the proper format of the .wav files used in FS2002 is (type of .wav, bit-size, quality, etc) if anyone knows this off hand. There are a few small sounds I'm working on, but my source files are mp3's. I want to make sure I convert them into the correct format. Thanks!Scott

I am thinking of getting the pss 777, before I do I would like to get some opinions on it. I am particularly concerned as it is a FS2000 product - still I was quite pleased so far with the quality of PSS( I have the airbus and the dash).the visual model is not that important for me, what I would realy like to know is your view on the panel and flight behaviour. If you can, would you please point out the products stronger points or/and its glitches.ThanksMike

Also posted at the designers forumWhen i land at a rough surface with a tiger moth i am unable to take off again. Seems like the aircraft is not powerfull enough or is unable to cope with extra drag involved. Since this aircraft was designed to be able to take off again from this kind of surfaces i wonder if it can be adjusted to the corrected settings. Also the floatplane is unable to take off again from a lake. luckyly it does float.Since i have no experience in designing and i dont want to destroy others work, i would like to ask the designer to take a close look at it. I fly the freeware tigermoth collection available from this AVSIM site.greetingsleon
