Hey all! During descent and approach the autothrottle is constantly reving up and down. It happens with the FFX 737's and the Posky CRJ. Does anyone know of a fix?

I'd posted this on another forum, but would like to hear from any here who'd care to contribute. Does anyone here use both the FSD Super Cub as well as the Cub from Bill Lyons? Apart from the obvious (engine and IFR capable), how would you compare them? Have read much, just not purchased one yet. Thanks.Rick

I fly mostly at non-controlled airports in FS. I am also in the process of getting my pilot's license. At uncontrolled airports, planes announce when they take the active runway, where they are in the traffic pattern, do radio checks, get airport advisories, and announce their position if they fly over the airport. When my home airport gets busy, there is always someone on the radio for one of the reasons stated above.I know that in FS2004 there will be traffic now at non-controlled airports. Does anyone know if we will hear the pilots on the radio as well, like we would at a real airport? I think that it would make the FS experience much more immersive if we heard t…

Hello guys,Anyone tried out the new Real 1 add-on? It is available as two massive 90MB downloads from Avsim Library...Great features are advertised, but it seems to work on APL, so it won't be compatible with AI traffic, right? And what about online flight? will it be compatible? If anyone has already tried it out, please tell us what you think... I don't want to download 180 MB for nothing....Take care...http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/15417.jpg___________________________________________________ Lu

Hi guy's n Gals,As i asked before, about my PC Upgrade Choice, and My limited budget. I have just ordeed an Athlon XP 2800+ Barton (512k) and a New ASUS Motherboard (Kt400)So this now brings my system up to the Following Spec:AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Barton (512k)1Gb Ram (PC2100 DDR)Geeforce 4 TI 4500 (128Mb) running @ 8X AGPMy Question is even though my new spec is still not quite top end, how will FSACOF run on my PC. I thought about getting a new graphics card instaed (radeon 9700 PRO), and sticking with my Athlon XP 1900+, but my thinking is, that FlightSim is CPU intensive, and that maybe I can get away with my Geeforce 4, for a bit longer. What do you think?Jason

Food for thought??Traditionally, each version of FS has been succeeded with a low par FS version since FS4. Example.. FS98 good, FS2000 bad, FS2002 good, ..you get the picture. As for FS2004, it will fail for the reasons below...A new powerful PC will need to be usedSlow fps if used on existing PC specs of todayNo improvement in flight dyanamicsNo improvement in engine/hydraulic/oil managementNo improvement in VFR or IFR, gauges and the likeNo improvement in uneven runwaysFS2004 will improve..CloudsSceneryATCTons of eye-candy featuresAdditional stuff like the add-ons we enjoy now.FS2004 will be a redesign of eye-candy only in my opinion. And so I can confidently say, I wi…

I went on a mesh hunt last night and finally decided to download Eddie Denny's mesh for Alaska. I have been flying up there a bit lately. While the mesh is for the most part spectacular, it seems in a many areas the terrain does not go well with the coast lines. What I mean here is that instead of a smooth transition down to water, the mountains end up just kind of cut off, leaving what looks to be too many cliffs all around. Its not everywhere, but it is in enough areas as to make it noticeable and unrealistic I guess. I even recently tried the add on mesh for the Seattle area and it suffers the same problem but to a much lesser extent. Am I doing something wrong or is i…

This seems to be related only to FS2002. The engine sounds are fine when I first start in the cockpit, then deteriorate as I cycle the views. The sound gets kind of tinny, and slightly muffled. Sometimes in higher density graphics they might go out altogether, and I will get a hideous, rasping noise. Is this a mobo problem, or is it time to go to Win XP? I've updated the sound drivers. And again, it seems to only affect the engine sounds. Flaps, ATC, etc. are fine. Thanks,Todd

Hi,I wanted to query other owners of this addon. I do know that Flight1 maintains their own support forum but AVSIM is the place to go when you want information fast and accurate :)Ok, regarding the 421, I'm having a heck of a time dealing with torque roll. I can't trim the thing to maintain a constant heading worth a hoot unless I engage the autopilot. This is the only flightsim plane I have so much trouble with in this regard. The whole yaw modeling with the 421 seems wormy. There is a yaw damper switch on the main panel but it does not seem to have any effect at all. Question: How do you guys trim out the torque roll with your setup? Thanks a lot.

I am just learning how to land ILS, and I am having trouble with the default planes. The ATC tells me to descend to 2000 until established on localizer (I have already setup NAV 1 and NAV 2). The plane then picks up the glide slope, turns and descends to the runway. However, at about 1800 feet the plane suddently enters a steep dive, and never makes it to the runway! I don't know what is happening. And yes I am using APR mode on the AP.Here I am flying a 747 from KOAK to KSFO (a nice short flight), just to test it out. Here are what my settings are:http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/15138.jpgOn final:http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/15141.jpgThis is where the AP brings …
