I was just reviewing a story for another package for the UK (Gatwick 2004 from Online Simulations). And I remember another one just a little while ago called UK VFR (or similar). Then I started thinking, I have seen actually a ton (that's tonne to all you other ones) of addons for the UK. Literally airports and scenery of payware quality by the dozens if not hundreds.Well, this got me thinking that I should maybe check out the UK area as it obviously must be a flat green table in FS2k2 to justify all these high quality addons. I don't understand why the FMC doesn't want to take the ZFW: when I enter it, it displays Invalid Entery. Also the flight plan isn't displayed on the HSI.Thank you for helping meWinglep

I used to do dabble in the recording biz and whenever we made an album there was royalty charges on it for people to play it on air, in concert etc.Maybe what Pete should be looking at is charging the payware builders a royalty when his product has to be used to run their product. As for the freeware items if you have purchased the product that is payware then you have the FSUIPC already on board to make it run from the payware product. Or, if you don't want to buy a payware item you could still purchase FSUIPC from Pete.Sorry, just thinking out loud.

Joe Watson did a panel (beaver 2) for Fred Banting's Beavers. It has an HSI that can be used on the ILS. I have been using it for some time now. The ADF gauge in the upper left corner has been basically useless to me since there is no ADF radio in the panel to tune the frequency. Since I never saw it work (the needle)I had assumed it (ADF gauge) was disabled. When I used Steven Grant's Beaver (equiped w/ Watson's panel)in Sitka, the ADF worked because the NDB was on 414.To me that means the ADF is working on 414. How can I change Frequencies to a specific frequency without an ADF radio in the panel? Am I missing something here??I tried to email Joe Watson at the address…

I hope MS fixes this before they ship FS2004...Am I the only one who has noticed that the daytime wing, position and nav lights on FS2004 aircraft are way, way, way too bright????Judging by some of the screen shots I've seen, daytime aircraft now look like flying christmas trees... and some of the white position lights located on the tail of the aircraft are so huge it makes the plane look like its on fire!I'm sorry, but during the day such lights are not really all that visable.Is this just another attempt at MS going for "entertainment" value over realism?I really hope MS fixes this, because it really detracts from an otherwise beautiful sim based on the screen shots I'…

We've been hearing and seeing a lot about the "eye candy" that is going to be available in FS2K4 (anybody besides me, getting tired of hearing about the clouds?)and some hints about the ATC as it applies to flying. I have noticed lately that when I try to leave various airports with heavy traffic, the traffic ahead of me just sits there. There are no planes coming toward the runway or are on the runway. However, the several aircraft ahead of me don't seem to want to move. If I wait long enough, some of the airplanes in front of me will disappear and then I am able to move forward a notch or two. Then a few will take off like normal and then there will be a long wait again until a plane or two disappears at which point I can take off. I am talking 45 minutes to an hour. Luckly, I stay quite busy at work, so I can walk away for a few minutes knowing that I will be about where I …

I'm trying to do a short field takeoff at the following airport:Bald Mountain in Talkeetna, Alaska (2AK7).Trying it in the Cessna Skylane. Is it even possible to get off the ground before the end of the runway? I've tried everything I know about short field takeoffs. Increase flaps, full throttle while braked before going. Is it possible or do I need to find another runway?Whats a good short field practice runway that I can actually get a successfully take off on ;)Please help!
